Ballard County, Kentucky
If you have any sources, or live in or near a source of information, please volunteer to do Lookups for us. If we all help one another, our research is made easier and more fun.

Please do not ask for more than two individuals at a time and be as specific as you can. Be sure to thank the person for their Lookup. Thanks.

We now have 2 LOOKUP Volunteers. Thanks Lisa and Kathleen.
Lookups
I have the following publications of the BCGHS and will do :LookupsLisa

Ballard County KY Marriages 1852-1878 and 1881-1884

Ballard County KY Marriages 1885-1899

Ballard County KY Marriages 1900-1902

Obituaries, The Weekly Advance, 1914-1919

Dr J S Seay, Registery of Births, covering 1865 -1909

(See the Ballard-Carlisle Genealogical-Historical Society site for information on ordering the above books.)

A History of Kentucky, Edition 1:  This book has biographical sketches of leading men of Ballard, Calloway, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, McCracken and Marshall Counties.
I will do Lookups and have the following books, plus all the books listed in the previous column. Kathleen

1.  OUT OF PRINT books

Ballard's Brave Boys by M. Juliette Magee
(Civil War service records for both CSA and Union soldiers of Ballard Co.)

Ballard Co. Obituaries for the years 1931-1935 and 1940-1946
(when requesting a lookup, you MUST send me the year of death)

Hickman Co. KY Marriages, 1822-1850, and Deaths 1852-1859, by Researchers Publications
(many early Hickman Co. Marriages were of future Ballard/Carlisle families)

Vital Statistics, Never Before Published Records of Far Western KY, by M. Juliette Magee
(the title is misleading - this book really contains the Journal of Ed Horr, Ballard Co. storekeeper, covering the years from just after the Civil War until about 1928.  Mr. Horr recorded deaths in his journal and/or info, in many cases, about when a person arrived in Ballard, name of spouse, name of parents, etc.)

2.  BOOKS IN PRINT, published by the Ballard/Carlisle Historical and Genealogical Society

Ballard Co. KY Confederate Soldiers
(many of these men were future Carlisle residents)

Ballard County Cemeteries, Volumes I thru VI

Ballard Co. Confederate Pensions

Ballard Co. Marriages, 1905-1910
