...1849 At a county court held for this County of Harlan at the house thereof on Monday the 3rd day of September. Were present Noble Smith David Turner,( Milkenson) Howard (and?)Abram Slusher Esquires.
On motion of Larkin Jackson letter of Administration is granted him upon the goods, chattels and credits of James Jackson dec. whereupon he executed bond to the Commonwealth in the penalty of $1000 with Abram ....his security conditioned as the law directs and had the necessary oath administered to him.
Ordered by the court that John Blese and David Green be appointed to appraise the estate of James Jackson dec.Abram....come unto court and resigned as a Justice of the Peace.James Green, John Lewis, and John Jones Jr., John Bailey Jr. , John G Jones Esq took their seats on the bench.
On motion of James Turner.he is appointed as a constable of Harlan County whereupon he executed bond according to law with Robert Turner, Eli Lewis, HY Powell as his securities and had the necessary oath administered to him. On motion of ZB Taylor he is appointed a constable of Harlan County whereupon he executed bond with Mike Howard, John L Howard and BF Jackson his securities and conditioned as the law directs and had the necessary oath administered to him. 
On motion of Hezekiah Hall he is appointed as a constable of Harlan County whereupon he executed bond in the penalty of $2000 with Robert Jackson. Eli Lewis his securities conditioned as the law directs and had the necessary oath administered to him.
On motion of Michael Howard he is appointed a constable of Harlan County whereupon he executed bond with ZB Taylor, John C Howard and BF Jackson his securities conditioned as the law directs and had the necessary oath administered to him.


                                                                          

The commonwealth of Kentucky to the Sheriff of Harlan County. Greeting. We command you to take Andrew Lee if he may be formed within your Bailiwick and him safely keep so that you have his body before the Judge of the Harlan Circuit court at the court house thereof on the first day of our next (April term?) to Asworn Larkin Jackson Administrator of the goods and chattel rights and credits of John Jackson deceased of a plea of Trespass on the Lease damages$2140.00 and have shown where this rent M.....John Clem..... clerk of our said court this 25th day of February 1850 and in the 58 year of the Commonwealth.
The Commonwealth of Kentucky to the Sheriff of Harlan County. Greeting. We command you to summon John Patton, Joshua Cox, Elyah Bingham, Gabriel Jackson, Joseph Wilder, Sampson Wilder, Joseph Pitman, Mark Morgan, Frederick Lee, Zeke Helten, James Jackson (Sr. son) to appear before the Judge of the Harlan Circuit Court at the court house thereof on the 3rd day of our next (April term?) to testify and the truth to speak in behalf of the Plaintiff on a certain matter of controversy now pending in our said court between Larkin Jackson Adm. Plaintiff and Andrew Lee Defendant and this they shall in no wise omit under the penalty of L100 M...John .....clerk of our said court this 25th day of February 1850
