DANIELS, MARY -LONDON, Ky. - Mary Daniels, 85, formerly of Straight
Creek, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at Mary Mount Medical Center in
London. She was born May 15, 1920, at Simms Fork, Ky., a daughter of the late
Palastine Rice and Elizabeth Hendrickson Rice. She was a member of Old Straight
Creek Trinity Tabernacle Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her husband, Grant Daniels; and three sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include her children, Robert and Norma Daniels, Shelby, Mich., Grant
and Eve Daniels Jr., Siler, Ky., Rev. Danny and Phyllis Daniels, London, Ky.,
Scotty and Lisa Daniels, Orange Park, Fla., Flonnie Brummett, Straight Creek,
and Wanda and Danny Johnson, Jasper, Ala.; two sisters, Ester Earles, Livonia,
Mich., and Linda Grandelli, Clay, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren, 22
great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and
friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at Old Straight Creek
Trinity Tabernacle Church with the Rev. David Rice and the Rev. Glen Wilson
presiding. Music will be by Mark Mahurin and the choir from Old Straight Creek
Trinity Tabernacle Church. Interment will be in Green Hills Memorial Gardens,
Middlesboro. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive
friends from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at Creech-Durham Funeral Home, Pineville, which
is in charge of arrangements.

Daugherty, Axie
Gladys - FRAKES- 76 , passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 1997, at Pineville
Community Hospital. She was born Feb. 20, 1921, in Bell County, a daughter of
the late Rev. Mart Miracle and Betsy Willis Miracle. She was a member of New
Vine Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her husband, John Tom Daugherty ; son Wilburn Daugherty ; sister, Ruth
Blackburn ; and a brother, John Wesley Miracle. Survivors include five sons,
Lonnie Daugherty, Tazewell, Tenn., Connie Daugherty, Woodbine, Ky., J.T.
Daugherty, Frakes, Alva Daugherty, Indianapolis, Ind., and Billy Daugherty,
Morristown, Tenn. ; one daughter Eula Massengill, Middlesboro; one sister,
Cassie Partin, Frakes ; fourteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

DAUGHERTY, HILLARY - FRAKES, Ky.- Hillary Daugherty,
66, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 1989, at Britthaven Nursing Home. He was born May
23, 1923, in Bell County, a son of William and Sudie { Lawson } Daugherty. He
was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Partin and Grady Landsedel ; and one
brother, John Tom Daugherty. Survivors include five sisters, Cordelia
Hatfield, Clairfield, Tenn., Martha Daugherty, Frakes, Lizzie Henderson, Mount
Arb, Ohio, Margaret McCory and Leota McCory, both of Kokomo, Ind. Services
were at noon Tuesday at Creech Funeral Home with the Revs. Chesley Miracle and
Roy Webb officiating. Music was by the New Vine Missionary Baptist Church
singers. Burial was in the John A. Partin Cemetery. Creech Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.

Daugherty, John Tom
-70, of Frakes, Ky., died Wednesday, June 4, in Jellico Community
Hospital. He was born Feb. 15, 1916, in Bell County, the son of the late William
and Sudie Lawson Daugherty. He was a member of New Vine Baptist Church, a
retired member of the United Mine Workers of America, and a member of Pinnacle
Masonic Lodge #661. He was preceded in death by one son, Wilburn Daugherty, Aug.
29, 1973. He is survived by his wife, Axie Daugherty, Frakes; one daughter, Eula
Mason, Speedwell, Tenn. ; five sons, Lonnie Daughtery, Tazewell, Tenn., Connie
Daugherty and J.T. Daugherty, both of Frakes, Alva Daugherty, Kokomo, Ind., and
Billy Daugherty, Morristown, Tenn. ; two sisters, Martha Daugherty, Frakes and
Leota McClory, Ontario, Canada ; 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today in New Vine Baptist Church with the
Revs. Roy Webb and Wayland Mason speaking. Music will be by the church choir.
Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Sonny
Claxton, Wayne Partin, Bill Partin, Charles Browning, Porter Maiden, James
Hickman, Jessee Partin, Clifford Maiden and Dennis Miracle. Creech Funeral Home,

DAUGHERTY, MARTHA -93-FRAKES - Martha Daugherty, 93 ,
passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at her home. She was born March 17, 1909,
in Whitley County, Ky., a daughter of the late William Daugherty and Sudie
Lawson. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Partin, Cordelia
Hatfield, Lizzie Partin, Grady * Landseadel, Margaret McClory ; brothers, John
Tom Daugherty and Hillary Daugherty. Survivors include one sister, Leota McClory,
Canada ; two special nephews, J.T. Daugherty and Jessie Partin; one special
great-nephew Jeff Daugherty ; and a host of other nieces, nephews, and other
relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. today at New Vine
Baptist Church with the Revs. Johnny Partin and Wayland Mason presiding. Music
will be provided by New Vine singers. Burial will be in the John A. Partin
Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jesse Partin, Bill Partin, Willie Gene Hatfield,
Clifford Maiden, Jerry Fuson, Bill Daugherty,* Roy Partin and * C.A. " Buddy "

Daugherty, Mrs. Susie E. -73 , died at her home in Frakes, Ky. at 4 a.m.
Tuesday after an illness of four months. Mrs. Daugherty had lived her entire
life in Kentucky and was a member of the Baptist Church. Surviving are eight
children, Hilary and Martha Daugherty, who live at home, Mrs Fate Hatfield, Mrs
John Partin and John Daugherty of Frakes, Ky., and Mrs Ray McClary, Mrs Howard
McClary and Mrs Ray Landseadel, all of Kokomo. There are several grandchildren,
great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at the
Jellico Funeral Home, Jellico, Tenn. at 11 am Thursday with burial in the Partin
Cemetery.

-age 21, of Greenwood Road, Middlesboro, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 1973
in a mine accident. He was born May 18, 1952 in Bell County, son of John Tom and
Axie Miracle Daugherty and they survive. Besides his parents, he is survived by
his wife, Kathy Daugherty of Middlesboro ; one daughter, Paula Michelle
Daugherty of Middlesboro ; one sister, Mrs Eula Frasure of Middlesboro ; five
brothers, Lonnie Daugherty of Fort Benning, Ga., Connie Daugherty of Harrogate,
Tenn., J.T. Daugherty of Frakes, Ky., Alva Daugherty of Koko, Ind., Billy

Clairfield, Tenn.Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at the
Cawood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Browning and the Rev. Wade

Alva Preston - b. 15 Jan 1884-d. 31 Oct 1967-passed away at the Middlesboro Appalachian Regional
Hospital, October 31,1967, at the age of 83. He was the son of the late
Dudley Ewing and Florence Oregon Brooks Dean. Mr. Dean had lived in Middlesboro
for several years and was a member of Engle's Chapel Methodist Church, Rose
Hill, Va. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Cora E. Yeary Dean, Middlesboro; two
sons, Lon Dean of Morristown, Tenn., and Oscar Dean, Middlesboro; three
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Millard Daniel Dean of
Sneedville, Tenn.; four sisters, Mrs. Laura Chadwell, Middlesboro, Mrs. Mossie
Buchanan, Mrs. Pearlie Akers and Mrs. Katie Akers, all of Pineville, Ky.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home
Chapel. The Rev. Marvin Keaton, the Rev. Clarence Lambdin, and the Rev. Ralph
Berry will officiate. Pallbearers will be Leland Idol, Billy R. Ayers, William
Hurst, Otis Daniels, George Carter and Hagan Chadwell. Burial will be in the

Mr. Millard Daniel Dean, 84, of Route 5, Tazewell, Tenn., passed away at 4 a.m.,
Tuesday, March 9, 1971, at a Middlesboro Hospital. Surviving relatives include
his widow, Mrs. Mollie Brooks Dean, Tazewell, Tenn., daughter, Mrs. Ethel
Chadwell, Jonesville, Va., son, Herbert Dean, Tazewell, Tenn., sisters, Mrs.
Katie Akers and Mrs. Pearlie Akers, both of Pineville, Ky., and Mrs. Laura
Chadwell, Middlesboro; grandchildren, Mrs. Ora Rowlett, Jonesville, Va., Pascal
Dean, Tazewell, Tenn., and Mrs. Wilma Montgomery, Tazewell; and 3
great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at
the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel where the body will lie in state one hour before
services. Interment will follow in the Surber Cemetery, Route 5, Tazewell. The
family will receive friends this evening at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel from 7 to

Derossett, Jack
Ed -age 40 a resident of Pineville, KY, passed away Saturday December
31, 2005 in Arjay, KY. He was born July 5, 1965 in Pineville, KY the son of the
late Harold Derossett and Anna Howard Derossett who survives. Besides his father
he was also preceded in death by his brothers Van Howard and Joe Lee Derossett.
He was of the Baptist Faith. Left to mourn his passing are the following
members of his family. Mother Anna Howard Derossett of Pineville, KY, two sons
Joseph Kelly Lee Derossett and Christian Scott Derossett, sisters Sarah Brewer
of Pineville, KY, Rita Silcox of Watertown, TN, Ruby Nadine Howard of Amelia,

Middlesboro, KY. He will be missed by a host of nieces and nephews, Eric Adam
Good, Tiffany Michelle Yates, Keith Brewer, Van Derossett, Danielle Silcox,
Dianna Harper, Doug Elliott and a host of other friends and relatives and loved
ones. Funeral services for Jack Ed Derossett were conducted Tuesday January 5,
2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Creech-Durham Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arthur
Jackson officiating. Music was by a tape by the late Joyce Cox. Pallbearers
were Chris Brewer, Keith Brewer, Rick Eastridge, Doug Craig, Tommy Silcox, Jeff
Craig, Van Derossett, Eric Adam Good. Visitation was from 6-9 Monday evening at
the Creech-Durham Funeral Home Chapel and after 9 a.m. Tuesday until the funeral
hour at 1:00 p.m. Burial followed in the Pinelawn Memorial Garden on Laurel

Dye, Curtis -age 76, of Centerville, passed away
Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at Hospice of Dayton. Born June 16, 1927 in Cary, KY to
the late Thomas and Viola (Henson) Dye. He was preceded in death by sisters
Jacqueline Mink and Artie Carter and by granddaughter Hannah Marie Dye. Curtis
is survived by his wife of 48 years, Maxine; son David Dye (Linda) of Columbus,
IN; daughter Kim Dye of Dayton; grandchildren Daniel, Sarah, Leah, Rachel and
John Dye; brothers Bruce Dye of Centerville and Phillip Carter of KY; sisters
Naomi Crawford of TN, Joyce Compton of KY., and Phyllis Green of KY; and his
church family at Franklin Baptist Church, Franklin, OH. He was a veteran of the
U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from Delco Moraine. Funeral
services 11 a.m., Friday May 21, 2004 at the Franklin Baptist Church, 160
Deardoff Rd., Franklin. Pastor Joey Bacon officiating. Interment Miami Valley
Memory Gardens.
