Elliott, Charles Dewey -Jenson - 94, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2006, at Pineville Community Hospital. He was born in Jenson on Jan. 24, 1912, the son of the late Rev. Cammie Elliott and Laura Woolum Elliott. He had been a coal miner, truck driver and mechanic. He was a believer in the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Messer Elliott; grandson, Timothy Dewayne Lawson; great-grandchildren, Jeff Watts and Roxanna Brock; great-great-grandchild. James Matthew Watts; an infant sister; brother and sisters and their spouses, Nora and John Flowers, Kitty and Joe Lawson, Elmer Bush and Eleanor Elliott; and sons-in-law, Wilburn Smith, Charles Lefevers and Renus Doulen. Survivors include his children, Bytha Lee Smith Lefevers, Mildred June Doulen, Joyce Ilena Bicknell and husband Ernie, Charles Elliott and wife Kay, Larry Elliott and Brenda K. Lawson; 27 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Linda Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Dr. Steven Morgan officiating. Music will be by friends of the family. Burial will be in the Jenson Cemetery at Jenson. Pallbearers will be Phillip Elliott Jr., Shaun Brown, Doug Lawson, Larry Elliott, Dale Caldwell, Ronnie Vaughn and Kevin Watts. The family will receive friends from 5 until 9 p.m. Sunday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville.

Emery, Clarence “Cheetah” -61, of Pineville, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born in Pineville on November 17, 1943 the son of the late Jim Emery and Hazel Helton Emery Daughtery. He had been a roofer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Emery. Survivors include his son, Cody Wombles,  companion, Susan Wombles;  brothers and sister, James Charles Emery, Orville Emery and Shirley Cheek; aunt, Mae Grubbs, special family, The Wombles, special friends, Diane Alquicira and Myra Gambrel and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were Sunday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Rondald Howard and Rev. Thea Carter. Burial was in the Barbourville City Cemetery, Barbourville. Engle, Dorothy Jean Bailey -72, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2003 at her home.  She was a member of the First Baptist church of Pineville, where she taught Sunday School for 17 years.  She is a retired teacher from the Bell County School System where she gave 42 years of service.  She treasured her family, former students, their families, all the staff and personnel where she worked through the years and her Christian life and heritage. Dorothy was born on November 14, 1930 at Blanche, KY the daughter of Custer R. Bailey and Sarah B. Howard Bailey of Blanche, KY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jesse Howard Bailey of Blanche. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Orville Leo Engle of Pineville, son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Debbie Engle of Maryville, TN; grandsons, Jason, Eric, Cameron and Kyle, son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Sonya Engle of Harrogate, TN and grandsons, Joshua and Jacob, nephews, Woody Bailey and wife, Jean of Speedville, TN, Gary Bailey, Middlesboro and Daryle Bailey, Arjay, KY; sisters-in-law, Wanda Inez Bailey, Arjay, Lois Daphene Engle, Middlesboro; nieces, Jay Genia Hoskins and husband, Carmel of Gallion, OH and Jan Evans and her husband Rick of Middlesboro, three great-nieces and three great-nephews  and a host of friends and former students and their families.  Services were Sunday at the First Baptist Church, Pineville with Rev. Eschmann, Doris Louise -63, of Pineville passed away on August 31, 2005 at her home. She was born in Blanche on April 25, 1942, the daughter of the late Latimore and Nora Honeycutt Beverly. She was a member of the Arjay Baptist Church. In California, she had a wonderful career life as a receptionist in a manufacturing plant. She had also been a Girl Scout Leader and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Norma Cox, Rosella, Nellie and Mable Beverly and sisters-in-law, Vernie and Brenda Geraldine Beverly and brother-in-law, Earnest “Buster” Cox. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Bill Eschmann, her daughter, Cindy Gaskill, son-in-law, Gary Gaskill, granddaughter, Corri Gaskill; adopted from the heart daughter, Kathy Parker and son-in-law, Gary Parker and their children, Gary and Billie; brothers and sisters, Ida and Queen Smith of Crestline, OH, Herbert and Nancy Beverly of Ft. Wayne, IN, Hugh Beverly of Zanesville, IN and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Services were Friday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Poore and Mr. Gary Gaskill. Estep, Dale W. -MIDDLESBORO - -79, passed away Wednesday Sept. 14, 2005, at the Baptist Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn., after a short illness. Born June 18, 1927, he was the son of the late Mebin and Onalee Estep. He was a member of Hensley's Chapel Baptist Church and a been a minister for more than 50 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Estep Blondell, and on, Eddie Estep. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Estep; daughters, Carole Harris and Linda Davis; stepsons, Scott and Gary Givens, Larry, Eddie, and Mike Beeler; stepdaughter, Debbie Britton; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hensley's Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Murphy Buell and the Rev. Ralph Tennyson and James Payne presiding. Music will be provided by The Hensley's Chapel Choir. Interment will be in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be close friends of the family. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Friday at Creech Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

-Mrs. Emaline (Lina) Estes, 85, of Middlesboro, passed away Sunday night.  May 10, 1970, in Appalachian Regional Hospital. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Stella Owens, brother-in-law, Wheeler Owens, and sister-in-law, Mary Davis, all of Middlesboro; niece, Margie Money, Louisville, nephews, Elmer, Ralph, and Bobby Money, all of Louisville, James and Hubert Money of California, Henry and J. J. Gibson, Bean Station; step-children, Mrs. Dessie Barton, Middlesboro, Edward Estes, South Carolina. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Binghamtown Baptist Church where the body will lie in state one hour before services.  The Rev. W. B. Bingham, pastor will officiate.  Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening between the hours of 7 and 9. Reece Funeral Home, New Tazewell, is in charge.
