Jackson, Adrian-Infant passed away Sunday, April 9, 2006, in
Knox County, Ky. Born Dec. 20, 2004, in Bell County, she was the daughter of
Timmy Jackson and Crystal Williams. She was preceded in death by an uncle, James
Jackson. Left to mourn her passing are the following members of her family: her
mother, Crystal Williams, Middlesboro; father, Timmy Lee Jackson, Dewitt, Ky.;
grandparents, Gary and Gladys Sturgill, Pineville, Bertha Barnett, and Ronnie
Dunn, both of Dewitt; uncles and aunts, Ron Helton, Jerry Jackson, Steve
Jackson, Brandon Dunn, Hannah Gabriel, all of Dewitt, John Sturgill, Gary
Sturgill, Danny Smith, Bruce Smith, Clarence Smith, Ronnie Smith, Melissa Smith,
Jean Smith, Audrey Smith, Leon and Joyce Sturgill, and Bobby and Evelyn Sturgill,
all of Pineville. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Creech-Durham
Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Mills presiding. Burial was in the Helton
Cemetery at Moores Creek, Ky. Pallbearers were John and Gary Sturgill, Stevie
and Jerry Jackson. The family received friends from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday

JACKSON, CHARLIE, age 65, a resident of Arjay, KY., passed away Tuesday, December 2, 1987 at the Pineville Community Hospital.
He was
born March 26, 1900, in Clay County, KY., the son of the late John Jackson and Mary Jane Smith Jackson. He was joined in holy
matrimony
December 21, 1940 at Beverly, KY., to Miss Bessie Lawson, daughter of Lewis and Martha Meredith Lawson of Beverly, KY. He was a
retired
coal miner and a member of the Strait Creek Penecostal Church. He was preceded in death by his father in 1959 and his mother in 1972.
He is
survived by his wife, Mrs. Bessie Lawson Jackson, Arjay, KY., two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Gambrel and Mrs. Dorothy Gibbons, both of
Pineville, KY.; two sons, Lewis Jackson, New Tazewell, TN. and Donald Jackson,

-87, of Ingram, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2005 at
the Pineville Community Hospital. She was born in Tinsley, KY on December 6,
1917 the daughter of the late Sil and Melissa Petrey Goodin. Cleo loved her Lord
and had been a devoted member of Ebenezer Baptist Church since age 21 and was a
member of the Church Choir. She was preceded in death by her parents, her
husband, Oscar Jackson, daughter, Anna Russell Elam Fitzer, step-sons, Mike
Jackson and Dickie Jackson, sisters and brothers, Gladys Goodin, Opal Goodin,
Claudia Hammons, Floyd Goodin and Ishmael Goodin. Survivors include her

JACKSON, ELIZABETH -Elizabeth Jackson, 96, of Pineville, passed away
on Sunday, October 9, 2005 at the Pineville Community Hospital. She was born in
Cary, KY on September 28, 1909 the daughter of the late Martha Gambrel Patterson
and Tom Gambrel. She had been a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her husband, Scott Jackson, grandson, Allen Wayne Smith and
brother, Jim Patterson. Survivors include her daughter, Evelyn Welsh,
grandchildren, Elizabeth Denny, Yvonne Jones, Jim Smith, Bonnie Burris, Joe
Scott Smith and Gloria Gambrel; a host of great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Ethel Patterson and Myrtle Patterson and a
host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services were Wednesday at
the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Arnold Lee and Rev. Shawn Baker.

Army Veteran died Friday, August 28, 1970 in the Veteran's Hospital, Cincinnati,
Ohio due to the injuries sustained while serving in Vietnam, May 18, 1968. A
member of a large well-known family of Bell County, he was born February 9,
1942. Survivors include his parents, Andrew and Shirley Simpson Jackson, Route
1, Pineville; his widow, Elizabeth Jackson, Route 1, Pineville; four sisters,
Mrs. Clara Tatron, Louisville, Mrs. Ethel Hobbs, Mrs. *Minnie Miracle, Mrs.
Delia
Boatright, all of Route 1, Pineville; five brothers, Hugh Jackson, Loveland,
Ohio, Kenneth, Larkin, Frank and Robert Jackson, all of Route 1, Pineville.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Laurel Hill home of his
parents. Elder Kenneth Robbins and Elder Bill Taylor were the officiating

-36, of Frakes, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 in Four Mile,
KY. She was born in Jellico, TN on December 25, 1969 the daughter of Phyllis
Davis Hamblin and the late Tyce Hamblin. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and
was employed at Middlesboro Health Care Facility. She was a member of the Tracy
Branch Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
her grandfather, Dewey Hamblin and uncles, Buford and Samuel Hamblin. Survivors

Jackson, Gillis "Gilly"
Jr., -64, died at 12:50 a.m. July 27, 2005, at the Cleveland Clinic,
Cleveland. He was born Sept. 14, 1940, in Pineville, Ky., to Gillis and Roseanna
Simpson Jackson, Sr., who preceded him in death. On Dec. 15, 1962, he married
Bonnie L. Taylor, who survives in Wapakoneta. Mr. Jackson worked in maintenance
at International Brake Co., Lima. He was a member of Lima Missionary Baptist
Church. He was a member of Brands Lake Fishing Club and the Auglaize Fish &
Game, both in Wapakoneta. He loved spending time with his family and
grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and running his beagles. Survivors
also include two sons, Zachary (Stephanie) Jackson of Union, Ky., and Anthony
(Stephanie) Jackson of Maplewood; a daughter, Kimberly (Steve) Myers of
Wapakoneta; six grandchildren Emilee and Lindsey Jackson, Robyn and Stephen

-Funeral services for James “JIM” P. Johnson, Jr. 90 of Algood will be Tuesday,

Interment, with military honors, will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Mr.
Johnson died Saturday, December 10, 2005 at White County Community Hospital in
Sparta. He was born August 13, 1915 in Pineville, KY to the late James Purciful
and Nellie Morrison Johnson, Sr. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II’ a
member of Cookeville First Baptist Church; and was a retired automobile
mechanic. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Leroy
Johnson, step-son R.C. Callihan, four brothers and seven sisters. Survivors are
wife of 54 years Dorothy Johnson (whom he married June 10, 1951 in Layfayette,
TN); three daughters & a son-in-law Shawana & Kenny Delon of Spencer, TN, Sherry
Thatcher of Virginia Beach, VA, and Darlene Fisher of Grayslake, Ill; two sons &
daughters-in-law, Danny & Alice Johnson of Croswell, Mich., Larry & Sharon
Johnson of Northbranch, Michigan; 14 grandchildren including a very special
granddaughter Karen Smith, and 13 great-grandchildren.Mr. Johnson’s family will

--DEATH COMES TO WELL KNOWN MAN
Joe Johnson, 61 years old, died at Kettle Island Tuesday afternoon following a
long illness of cancer. Mr. Johnson was the father of Mrs. P.E. Giannini, of
Kettle Island, and was well known here where he was a barber for many years.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church here Wednesday afternoon
at 1 o'clock by the Rev. L.C. Kelly and burial took place in the I.O.O.F.
cemetery.

Jones, Arthur Jr., 49,of East Pineville,
passed away Saturday, July 2, 2005, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center
in Lexington. He was a member of Victory Worship Center, and his testimony was
known through his kindness and pure heart. He will be greatly loved and
remembered by his loving wife of 30 years, Brenda Starr Jones; daughters and
sons-in-law, Sabrina and Larry Barnett, Tessa and Benjamin Brock, and Amanda
Burnett; his special babies, Jacob Dalton Barnett,, 4-1/2, Haley Starr Brock,,
3-1/2, Isabella Bailey Burnett,, 4, and Autumn Olivia Barnett, 22 months old. He
was preceded in death by his father, Arthur "Boots" Jones Sr. Remaining survivors
include his mother, Lucy Jones; five sisters and one brother, and a host of
other relatives and friends, including a special group of friends from the
dialysis clinic in Barbourville, Ky., that he attended three days a
week. Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Creech Funeral Home with
Pastor Gary Miracle and Assistant Pastor Mark Graves presiding. Music will be by
Seth Miracle, Rev. Gary Miracle, and Joan Graves.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday
at the Simpson Family Cemetery at Little Clear Creek. Pallbearers will be

born April 17, 1952, in Knox County, Ky., the son of the late Luster and Tressie
Gray Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister,
Janice Jones. He is survived by the following members of his family: wife, Tracy
Jones, Middlesboro; three children and their spouses, Cindy (Vince) Smith,
Barbourville, Ky., Melina (Michael) Cox, Barbourville, Heather (Dale) Robbins,
Middlesboro; four grandchildren, Cody Robbins, Elizabeth Hope Robbins, Jacob
Smith, and Jonah Smith; two sisters, Kathy (Lloyd) Mills, Barbourville, and
Hazel (Charles) Mills, Bimble, Ky.; three brothers, Jimmy (Carol) Jones,
Barbourville, Chester (Sheila) Jones, Barbourville, and Doyle Jones,
Barbourville; all of his special racing friends, Brad Haws, Curt Sams, Gary Lee,
Jeff Shackleford, Tim Roberts, Bubba Goodman, Ron Robinson, Phil Waller, Bugsy
Evans, Eulon Turner, and Jimmy Dotson; and a host of other relatives and
friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Creech Funeral
Home Chapel with the Rev. William Boyd Bingham presiding. Music will be by
Beatrice Robbins and Thomasa Risner. Interment will be in Green Hills Memorial
Gardens. Pallbearers will be Matthew Sams, Joe Glass, Joey Glass, Darrell Brock,
Tim Roberts, and Eddie Miracle. The family
will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Creech Funeral Home,
Middlesboro, which is in charge of all arrangements

JONES, MARY YVONNE GRAYBEEL, departed this life on Monday, November 24,
2008 at her home. She was a loving daughter to her father, John and her mother
Mary; a beloved sister to Gene and Ruby. She was
a devoted mother to her son Michael and daughter-in-law Julie. She was faithful
wife to her husband David. Yvonne died with faith in Christ and was a
member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church, where she is remembered to her work in
Bible School and in the choir. She loved learning and was a graduate of
Mountain Empire College. She also took course work at Cumberland University, the
University of Kentucky, Miami University (Ohio) and, most recently, at Lincoln
Memorial University. She was given The Woman of Achievement award by Berea
College in 1995 and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa academic honor society.
In her last years, she suffered severe debilitating pain and, now, is free from
pain and distress.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 28,
St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Middlesboro, with Father David Booher
officiating. Entombment will be at Lee Memorial Gardens at Rose Hill, Va.
The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Friday, November 28, at St Mary’s
Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St.
Mary’s Episcopal Church, 131 Edgewood Lane, Middlesboro, KY 40965.

Jones, Monroe Junior “Red Onion”
-68, of Fourmile, passed away Wednesday, November 30, at the
Pineville Community Hospital. He was born at Fourmile on July 26, 1937 and was
the son of the late Monroe, Sr. and Jessie Webb Jones. He was a member of the
Trinity Pentecostal Church and had been a coal miner at the East Over Mining
Company in Arjay. He was a much loved Husband, Dad and Papaw ad will be missed
by all his family who loved him very much. In addition to his parents he was
preceded in death by brothers, Harold and Alvin Jones and a son-in-law, Joseph
E. Ward, IV. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Imogene Washam Jones of
Fourmile; children, Mary Alice and Paul Wayne Brock of Pineville, Proctor Monroe
and Phyllis Jones of Pineville, Juanita Ward of Lafayette, GA and Charles
Anthony and Lisa Jones of Fourmile; grandchildren, Donald Wayne Lingar of
Fourmile, Allan Dewayne and Jody Lingar of Wallsend, Proctor Anthony Jones of
Wallsend, Keshia Malea Ward of Lafayette, GA, Joseph E. Ward, V of Lafayette,
GA, Alex Anthony Jones of Fourmile and Derek Andrew Jones of Fourmile;
great-grandchildren, Braxton Dewayne Lingar of Wallsend, Braiden Wesley Lingar
of Wallsend and Sydney Donya Tyra Lingar of Knox County, KY; brothers, Joe

relatives and friends. Funeral services were 2 PM Sunday at the Arnett & Steele
Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Hall and Rev. John Baird officiating. Burial was in
the Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro. Pallbearers were John Jones,
Charles Jones, Allan Lingar, Donald Lingar, Donnie Lingar, Tim Buell, Donald
Buell, Dallas Honeycutt and Paul Brock. The family received friends on Friday
from 6 until 9 PM and on Saturday from 9 AM until 9 PM at the Arnett & Steele
Funeral Home, Pineville which is in charge of arrangements.

Jump, Edith Mae -84, of Knoxville, TN a
former resident of Hulen, Ky., was born in Molus, Ky. on Aug. 11, 1920, and died
at her daughters home in Knoxville, on Wednesday, July 6, 2005. She had been a
food manger for S.S. Kresge in Detroit, Mich., until her retirement in 1972. She
was a member of the Tanyard Hill Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by
her parents, Hobert and Chlora Saylor Daugherty of Twila, Ky.; husband, Rev.
John Turner Jump of Wallins Creek; son, Hobert Eugene Brock; brothers, Roy,
Zenas, John G. and Harold Daugherty; grandparents, John and Susie Daugherty of
Forresters Creek, John and Mary Saylor of Molus.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Jean Stewart and husband, Chester, of
Knoxville; sisters, Etta Daugherty of Rickman, Tenn., and Rose and husband,
Ronnie Simpson of Wallins Creek, Ky.; brother, James Howard Daugherty of Fort
Pierce, Fla.; three grandchildren Kendall (Anne) Stewart of Argentine, Mich.,
Benny Stewart and Marlene (Kevin) Young of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Erik
Stewart, Christopher Young, Stephanie Stewart and Jonathan Young; many special
friends who showed their love and support, including Ronnie and Rita Hoskins,
and H.D. and Bonita Hunley. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wallins
Creek Pentecostal Church (Bud Simpson's Church) with the Rev. Mike Hoskins, the
Rev. Ronnie Hoskins and the Rev. Randy Hunley. Music will be by friends at the
Church. Burial will be in The New Creech Cemetery at Wallins. Pallbearers will be Erik
Stewart, Jonathan Young, Kevin Young, Benny Stewart and Kendall Stewart.
