James Luther Akers and Mary Cathern "Katie" Dean Akers.She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pineville.Mable was united in marriage on December 21, 1955 to  William Walter Kilgore II,  who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Rev. William N. Akers, Ralph Clayton Akers, James Paul Akers, Ray Everett Akers and Curtis Hoover Akers.Survivors include her son, William W. "Bill" Kilgore III, Pineville; sisters-in-law: Mary L. Ballard Akers, Nashville, TN; Iva Mae Leach Akers, Ocala, FL; Frances J. Selvey Akers, June A. Crabtree Akers and W. Mae Gilbert Akers, all of Pineville, KY; a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.Funeral services were held at 8:00 PM, Friday, November 30, at the Creech-Durham Funeral Home in Pineville.  The Rev. Jerry Tracy officiated at the service, and Mickey Wilder provided the music.  Visitation was held from 6 - 8 PM before the service.Burial was Saturday, December 1, at Highland Cemetery in Sparta, Tennessee.Creech Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.

KNUCKLES, BARRY KEVIN - 39, of Four Mile, passed away on Sunday June 26, 2005 at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born on December 2, 1965 in Pineville the son of the late Wayne Knuckles and Jean Baker Knuckles who survives. He was a Kentucky State Police Trooper for 12 years graduating from cadet class number 70 then being assigned to Post 10 in Harlan where he was a Range Officer. He was very active with the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival, serving on several committees and was Vice President of the Bell County Little League. He was preceded in death by his father Wayne Knuckles.Survivors include his wife of 12 years Sheri Woods Knuckles; three daughters, Victoria Taylee, Alexandria Susanne and Sophia Camille Knuckles all of Fourmile; mother, Jean Baker Knuckles of Clear Creek; brothers, David Knuckles of Shelbyville, Greg and Twana Knuckles of Harlan and Jeffrey and Olivia Knuckles of Richmond; sister-in-law, Susan and John Combs of Pineville; brothers-in-law, Rodney and Cynthia Woods of Monticello and Kenny Woods of London and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be today  at 2:00 PM  June 30  at the First Baptist Church, Pineville with Rev. Bill Helton and Trooper James Hodge, Chaplin-Kentucky State Police. She was born at Mud Lick on June 22, 1919, the daughter of the late Hugh and Celetta Brock . She had been a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Colson Knuckles, a son, Cody Knuckles, sisters, Nettie Helton and Susie Helton Survivors include her children, Pauline Parrett of Kodiak, Ala., Tim Knuckles of Louisville, Bobby Knuckles of McKee, O'Dell Knuckles of LaGrange, Zenas Knuckles of Sneedville, Tenn., Faye Knuckles of Beverly, and Sharon Ayers of New Tazewell, Tenn.; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Hester Knuckles of Big Creek; brothers, McKinley Brock, John Brock and Connie Brock all of Beverly, and Richmond Brock of Keavy; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. KNUCKLES, ED --  87  Pineville - Ed Knuckles, 87 passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2004, at Pineville Community Hospital.  He was born August 18, 1916, a son of the late James Knuckles and Lillie Napier Knuckles. 
He was retired from the Straight Creek Mining Company, and he believed in the Baptist Faith. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. He loved to ride his horses and he lived his life to the fullest. All that 
knew him loved him. He was a very special person and will be missed dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hilda Saylor Knuckles; dear children, Kathy Knuckles Messer and 
Randel Knuckles and grandson-in-law, Jeremy Partin. Left to mourn his passing is his daughter, Rossi (Tony) Baker of Pineville; a son, James (Charlene) Knuckles of Pineville; two special granddaughters he raised as

November 21, 1931, he was the son of the late Millard Fillmore and Lydia Greene Knuckles. A graduate of Bell County High School and Harlan County Vocational-Electrical School, he was a veteran of the

Clinton and Effie Martin Knuckles. He was a graduate of Redbird High School and attended Cumberland College and Lincoln Memorial University. He was a retired coal miner and attended Faith Temple Church,
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth and Eugene Knuckles, parents-in-law, Everett and Hattie Baker, and brother-in-law, Allen Baker.  Survivors include his wife of 43 years,
Billie Jean Baker Knuckles, sons, David of Shelbyville, Ky., Kevin and Shari of Pineville, Greg and Twana of Harlan, and Jeff of Richmond; grandchildren, Mitchell, Sarah, Matthew, Victoria, Alexandria, Sophia,
Kristen, Kaitlyn and Joshua; brother, George Matt Knuckles of Arizona; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.  Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Faith Temple Church with Pastor
Matthew Robbins officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.  The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Friday at the Faith Temple Church.  Arrangements are by Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville.
