Labukas, Delphy -88, of Pineville, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2004 at Britthaven of Pineville.She was born on October 11, 1915 in Fonde the daughter of the late Elijah H. and Sarah Ellen Franz Rinehart.She had been a sales clerk and assistant manager for a retail store.  Delphy loved hummingbirds and was an avid bird watcher. Survivors include many friends and family members. Services will be at 12 Noon Saturday at the Hensley Chapel Cemetery in Middlesboro.  Burial will follow in the Hensley Chapel Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10 AM until 11 AM Saturday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville.

Lawson, Arnold Ray -53, of Kettle Island, passed away Friday, April 4, 2003 in Leslie County.  He was born in Beverly on August 14, 1949 to Millard Lawson and phronia Brock Lawson Saylor.  He had worked in construction. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Tony Saylor and grandson, Daniel Madison Seigler. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Gerldine Lawson  of Mill Creek, children Melissa and Danny Seigler of Arjay and Jamie Lawson of Fort Wayne, IN, the mother of his children, Mildred Mason of Arjay; step-children, Lonnie and Lana Lamb; Dougy Lamb, Keith and Teresa Lamb and Joyce Ann Miller, all of Middlesboro, Brenda Scott of Tazwell, Nona Lamb of Harrogate, Timmy and Frances Lamb of New Tazwell; brothers and sisters, Ben Lawson of Mill Creek, Lonnie and Sue Lawson of Columbus, OH, Shelby Lawson  of Fort Wayne, IN, Clyde Wayne and Kim Lawson of Stoney Fork, Bobby Saylor of Manchester, Bonnie Young of Mill Creek, Christine and Bobby Knuckles of Manchester, Lucille and Jim Brock of Beverly and Marilyn Saylor of Pineville; grandsons, Michael Lawson and Justin Seigler, nine step-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.Services were Monday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Morgan, Rev. Homer Cox and Rev. LAWSON, BERTHA KNUCKLES -- DAYTON, Ohio — Bertha Knuckles Lawson, 92, formerly of Beverly, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at her home in Dayton. She was born in Bimble on 
June 10, 1915, the daughter of the late Ben F. and Lucy Napier Knuckles. She was a member of the Cow Fork Primitive Baptist Church, and had been a homemaker. She was loved by all who knew her and will 
greatly be missed by her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rant Lawson; son Robert Edward Lawson; brother and sisters, Archie Knuckles, Francis Rollins 
and Virgie Slusher. Survivors include her children Lydia and Willie B Saylor of Dayton, Beulah Mae and John Brock of Beverly, and R. L. Lawson and Debbie Mosley of Beverly; grandchildren David, Rita, Jeanette, 
Jeanine, Bertha, Eva, Pamela, Ronald, Latrisha, Tonya, Doug, Shelly, Robert and Clinton; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Roy Saylor, Thomas Saylor Jr., Mildred McClurg and Nola Doll, all of Indianapolis; 
and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends; and the home care nurses from Keltering and Hospice of Dayton who lovingly took care of Bertha during her illness.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, 
April 21, at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Elder Mickey Wilson and the Rev. Teddy Collett presiding. Burial will follow in the Knuckles Cemetery at Beverly. Pallbearers will be Doug Lawson, David Saylor,

Lawson, Christine -78, of Pineville, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2003 at the Pineville Community Hospital.  She was born in Pineville on September 20, 1924 daughter of the late Andrew and Bessie Detherage Bays.  She had been a Baptist and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rice Lawson, sisters, Aileen Brooks, Edith Ralston and Bernice Duncan Johnson, and brothers, Andrew and Paul Bays. Survivors include her children, Judy and Terry Hembree, Leslie and Karen Lawson and Ricky and Frances Lawson; eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, sister, Evelyn Branham, brothers, Lonnie Bays, Ronald Bays and Timmie Bays and a host of nieces and nephews. Services were Wednesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Bays.  Music was by Billy Baird and Terry, Rhonda and Jerry Branham.  Burial was in the Detherage Cemetery at Brush Creek.  Pallbearers were Henry Root, Lonnie Smith, Johnny Philpot, Ricky C. Lawson, Leslie M. Lawson and Chris Lawson.  Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Steven Morgan and special thanks to Pineville Community Hospital.  Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville, was honored to serve the Lawson Family.

LAWSON, KENNETH E. - age 54 of LaGrange passed away Wednesday in his home after a sudden illness. He was born Monday, Oct. 30, 1950 in Fonde, Ky. and lived in the Elyria/ LaGrange area over 30 yrs. He was employed at Larson Foundry in Grafton in the Maintenance Dept. for over 25 yrs. and recently at M.P. & A. in Grafton for the last 5 months. He was a member of Hinkson-Hysell VFW Post 3341 in Grafton, and Am Vets Post 32 in Elyria. He also enjoyed many outdoor activities including being an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by 2 sisters Helen Behner of LaGrange, Ohio Myrtle Wells of Clinton, Tenn.; 3 brothers Wendel Lawson of LaGrange, Ohio Wayne Lawson of North Olmsted, Ohio Leon Lawson of Knoxville, Tenn. and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Albert & Bessie Lawson, and 1 sister Phyllis Lawson. Friends called in the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton Friday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. He then will be taken to the Jones Mortuary in Clinton, Tenn. where graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Monday in Bookwalter Cemetery in Knoxville, Tenn. with Rev. James Coffey officiating.

Lawson, Mrs. Lucy -90 years old, died at her home at Field Thursday after a long illness. she is survived by six daughters and three sons, Mrs. Lewis Lawson, Mrs. Richard Lawson and Mrs. Mason Slushier Beverly, Ky. Mrs. Chester Baker, Field, Ky. Mrs. S.M. Slusher, Pineville and Mrs. Bill Baker, Kettle Island. Dock Lawson and Daniel Lawson Field and Tinsley Lawson, Helton, Ky. Fifty grandchildren,,25 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. also survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday mourning at 10 o'clock at the home, conducted  by the Rev. A.R. Lehman. Burial will be under direction of N.T. Arnett & Son.

Lee, Alice Miracle -90, PINEVILLE - Alice Miracle Lee, 90, passed away Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at the Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was born Nov. 11, 1914 in Bell County, Ky., a daughter of the late Samps and Susie Owens Hubbard. She was a member of the Old Cannon Creek Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands: Tom Miracle and Henry Lee. Survivors include two sons: Eugene (Ruth) Miracle of Sevierville, Tenn., and Jessie (Sheila) Miracle of Shepherd, Mich.; six grandchildren: Phyllis Brandon, Teresa Janowitz, Jesse Charles Miracle, Johnny Miracle, Jesse Thomas Miracle, and Thomas Eugene Miracle; five great grandchildren: J. Miracle, Carmen Bailey Miracle, Shelby Ruth McCaulley, Dennis Eugene Brandon, and Andrew Christopher Brandon; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Miracle presiding. Interment will be in the Cubbage Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. today at the Creech Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Lefevers, Fannie “Granny Fanny” Bingham -97, of Pineville, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2005 at the Pineville Community Hospital. She was born in Pineville on July 7, 1908 the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Lee Bingham. She was a member of the Calvary Pentecostal Church and had been a homemaker. She was the widow of Henry Lefevers. Survivors include her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild, two step-sons and a host of friends and relatives. Services were Wednesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Messer.  Burial was in the Pineville Memorial Cemetery. LEVERETT, MARY ELIZABETH KEARNS - PENSACOLA, Fla. - Mrs. Mary E. Leverett, age 84 of passed away on January 17, 2006. She was born September 2, 1920 to Frank and Mossie Kearns of Middlesboro. In 1938 she married Charles Leverett, and they were married for 60 years. After moving a lot in the first 20 years of their marriage they settled in Birmingham, Ala., were they lived for over 30 years. They loved traveling, and spent many winters in South Texas. In 1992 they moved to Pensacola. She retired from Social Security Administration in 1975. While here she volunteered at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four brothers Padgett, Martin, Leslie, and Frank Kearns. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Martin who moved to Pensacola and was her companion and caretaker, as much as possible with her M.S. for the last seven years, and grandsons, Brian Upchurch of Houston, Texas, and Blake Upchurch of Orlando, Fla.; her son Charlie (Doris) Leverett of Albertville, Ala., and granddaughters Lara (Rob) Deal of Atlanta, Ga. and Susan (Jamie) Dodd of Athens, Ga.; five great- grandchildren with twins on the way; sister-in-law, Joyce (Eddie) Price of Pensacola; brother-in-law, Roy J. (Steele) Leverett; many nieces and nephews; dear old friends Carmen Bluejacket, Elmer Duke, Ruby Lambert and Margaret and Bill Kendricks; and special physicians, Dr. Nashed who never gave up, and Dr. Humeda and Dr. Friedland. The family will receive friends on Monday, Jan. 23, from 12-1,30 p.m. at Shumate Funeral Home in Middlesboro. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. at England Cemetery in Tazewell, Tenn. Lidster, Brenda Darlene -60, of Pathfork, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2003 at Pineville Community Hospital.  She was the daughter of the late John Edwin and Pearl Hayes Lidster, born on March 28, 1943 at Pineville, KY. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Tommy, Bud, Gene and John Lidster, Jr., and a sister, Frieda Lidster. Survivors include her brothers, Bill (Hazel) Lidster of Louisville and J.R. (Margie) Lidster of California; sisters, Myra (Josh) Howard of Pathfork, Wanda Dennis of Corbin, Dolly (Thomas) Simpson of Louisville, Jenny (Edward) Emenhiser and Ann (Bob) Wheaton all of Fort Wayne, IN and Joni (Victor) Russell of Loyall and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services were held Wednesday, November 12 at Pathfork Holiness Church, with  Rev. Everett Eads and Rev. Robert Lee officiating.  Burial followed in the Saylor Cemetery, Pathfork.  Pallbearers were, Victor Russell,, J.R. Howard, Jeff Howard, Wesley Wilder, Brent Noe and Brandon Noe. Lockard, Dorothy Gibson -86, Burgin, KY, widow of George Lee Lockard died Thursday at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. A native of Pineville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Frances Moody Gibson.  She was a Home Economist for the Kentucky Utilities Company, a Bell County Bookmobile Librarian and a Pineville Community Hospital Patient Representative. Survivors include: a son, Rex and his wife Norma Lockard, Jeffersonville, IN; three daughters, Jane Hoskins, Maitland, Florida, Mary George and her husband Bill DeVary, Lexington, and Lynn and her husband Phil Slusher, Harrodsburg; one brother, Cecil Gibson, Louisville, a sister, Genevieve Carr, Cincinnati; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two brothers Floyd and Edgar Gibson. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, January 10th at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Reverend Mark Hamby.  Burial followed in the Pineville Kentucky Cemetery. This obituary is a courtesy to the family by the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville, KY.
