Ralston, Drucilla Creech -Middlesboro -, 83, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2006, at the Middlesboro Health Care Facility. She was born in Dante, Va., on April 9, 1922, the daughter of Wert and Mabel Ramsay Allen. She graduated from Lynch High, Lynch, Ky., as salutatorian, and attended Villa Madonna College in Covington, Ky. Mrs. Ralston worked for 20 years as bookkeeper at Bell Printing Company and was past president of Cumberland Park Garden Club, Middlesboro Women's Club, Sponsor of Middlesboro Junior Women's Club, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Middlesboro. Mrs. Ralston was preceded in death by her husbands, Clifford Lee Creech and A. Henry Ralston. Survivors include her sisters, Ludy Gambill, Mission, Texas, Virginia Freeman, Unity Md., Linda Schoen, Santa Fe, N.M.; children, Captain Jay Allen Creech (Helen), US.C.G (Ret) Annapolis, Md., Dr. Jeffrey Lee Creech (Jan) Lexington, Ky.; stepchildren, Ingrid Moore, Patty Hollingsworth, and Dr. Craig Ralston; grandchildren, LTJG Bryon Allen Creech, US.C.G, and Justin Walker Creech, both Pensacola, Fla., Warren Asher Creech, Bellevue, Wash.; and special care giver and friend, Kathy Webb. Read, Betty -FRAKES -79, passed away Friday, July 29, 2005, at her home. She was born July 2, 1926, in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of the late William and Pauline Albro. She was a member of Hope Methodist Church. She raised her family in Milwaukee, Wisc., and had been a volunteer at Henderson Settlement for 13 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Albro. Survivors include her four children, W. Martin (Louise) Read, Milwaukee, Polly (Steve) Gerber, Suwanee, Ga., Mary (Daniel Wichman, Milwaukee, and Thomas (Sylvia) Read, Milwaukee; eight grandchildren, Mark and Terri Pellman, Mark Read, Laurie Wichman, Dan and Stacy Wichman, Roberto and Sarah Mercado, Stacy Read, Rachel and Mike Radmoczi, and Jessica Gerber; two great-grandchildren, Alexander Read and Charlena Mercado; one sister, Ida Jones, Chicago, Ill.; and a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of her life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Hope Methodist Church at Frakes with the Rev. Ed Farmer presiding. He was the son of the late Jimmy and Julie Baker Rice, a Mason, and WW II veteran of the US Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Rice; brothers, Curtis and James Rice; sisters, Susie, Clara and Ethel. RICE, LETHA ANN, 70, of Paris, formerly of Arjay, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She was 
born in Arjay on February 22, 1938 the daughter of the late John Henry and Mattie Mae Mullins Wilford. She was raised by her grandmother, the 
late Susie Mullins. Letha, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, had been a member of the Liberty Worship Center and was a 
homemaker.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Rice, Sr. and two grandchildren, Laura Brady and 
Joseph Smith.  Survivors include her children, Susan and Bob Anson, Claude and Bertha Rice, Michael Rice, Sharon and Mark Dunn and Vanessa

Richards, Bill Garrett -76, 1/25- HARROGATE, Tenn. - Bill Garrett Richards, 76, formerly of Middlesboro, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at Claiborne County Hospital after an extended illness. Born March 31, 1925, he was the son of the late Garrett and Lucy Owens Richards. A World War II Navy veteran, he fought in 13 major battles while serving aboard the USS Mobile Alabama for three years. He was a member of Westbrook Baptist Chapel in Muncie, Ind., and had worked at the GM Plant in Anderson, Ind., for 36 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Frank Richards. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Richards, Harrogate; step-daughter, Susan Hurst, Ann Arbor, Mich.; brother, John Richards, Louisville, KY.; sisters, Eunice Zimmer, Mildred Riley and Lydia Riley, all of Indiana; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Fairview Cemetery, with Dale Turner, pastor of the Church of Christ officiating. Military honors will be presented at the graveside. She had been a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Ross, Lt. Col. Paul E.,.(USAF RETIRED) - 83, of Farragut, TN, formerly of Four Mile, KY, passed away Easter Sunday morning, March 27, 2005, at Park West Hospital. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, Four Mile, KY and attended First Baptist Church Concord and Greenback Presbyterian Church. Born July 22, 1921, in Norton, Virginia, he was the son of the late Hubert and Thelma Ross. Col. Ross had a distinguished military career as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force. Highlights include combat experience in Korea, where he was shot down behind enemy lines on his 38th combat mission. Col. Ross was a former member of renowned USAF Thunderbird Team-Solo Pilot. His military career spanned 28 years serving in WWII, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was an accomplished craftsman having built and flown a Pitts Special named the "Lil Jewell." He was an avid golfer and winemaker. Survivors include: his beloved wife of 62 years, Jewell Lewis Ross; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nita Cain, Jackie and Boyd Schultz all of Knoxville, Joann and Jim Horch of Dayton Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Glen and Lou Ross of Knoxville, Fred and Marietta Ross, Bill and Delphine Ross all of Marietta, Georgia; several nieces and nephews. ROWLETTE, ARLEN G. -80, died at 5:15 a.m. Sept. 10,  2005, at Lima Manor Nursing Home. He was born June 6, 1925 in Middlesboro,  Ky., to Marion and Jane Brown Rowlette, who preceded him in death. On Jan. 31,  1948, in Ky he married Rhea Bissey, who survives in Lima. Mr. Rowlette  retired in 1981 from Clark Equipment as a machinist for 38 years. He was a  member of the 25 Year Club at Clark Equipment. He was a life member of Disabled  American Veterans Chapter 19, Lima. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He  loved to fish and garden and loved music. Survivors also include a son,  Terry (Gerri) Rowlette of Lima; two daughters, Lynda Mullins and Susan (Tim)  Ore, both of Lexington, Ky.; four grandsons, Rob Rowlette of Fort Wayne, Ind.,  Monty Rowlette of Cleveland, Joe (Tabby) Rowlette of Rockford and Tanner Mullins  of Lexington, Ky.; a granddaughter, Brandi Ore of Lexington, Ky.; and a  great-granddaughter, Brianna Rowlette. He was preceded in death by four  brothers, Ransom, Marshall, Herb and Louis Rowlette; and five sisters, Vola  Miracle, Edith Ferguson, Ruby White, Beverly Jane Rowlette and Betty Ray  Rowlette. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede  Funeral Home. The Rev. Albert Childers will officiate. Burial will be in  Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post  1275. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association or the charity  of the donor's choice.

ROY, HAYWOOD -77--Germantown, Ohio - Haywood Roy, 77, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2005. He was born in Bell County, Ky on September 4, 1928, to the late Ted and Roxie (Middleton) Roy.  He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.  He retired from the Dupps Company and was a member of the Full Gospel Missions Ministry Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Virgie (Lewis) Roy in 1981;  a sister, Ruth (Roy) Gibson; and a brother, Fremont Roy.  He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Delph (Davis) Roy; his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jeff Allen, of Middletown, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jeff (Lora) Allen III, Shawna (Paul) Schwartz, and Channing Allen, all of Middletown, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Daisy and Paul Schwartz; and his sister, Geneva (Randall) Wright of Middlesboro, KY. Funeral services were held at 11 am Wednesday at Dalton Funeral Home, Germantown, Ohio, with Pastor George Reynolds officiating.  Burial was in Highland Cemetery. Rutledge, Arzella Anderson -JONESVILLE, Va. - born Feb. 6, 1928, in Kentucky, left her earthly home for her home in heaven on Saturday, April 1, 2006, at the age of 78.She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Rutledge; parents, William and Myrtle Anderson; a son, Thomas E. Rutledge; a daughter, Shirley C. Little; and five brothers and two sisters. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Denson and husband Wheeler of Jonesville, Va.; two grandsons, Danny and Mat Rutledge of New York; one granddaughter, Amy Rutledge of New York; special grandson and granddaughter, Chris and Melissa Rutledge of Greensboro, N.C.; the lights of her life, her two great-grandsons, Nathan Seth Rutledge and Porter Wilson Rutledge of Greensboro, N.C.; one brother, Edward Anderson, Pennington Gap, Va.; five sisters, Mrs. Kyle Ramsey (Margie) of Kokomo, Ind., Mrs. Lester McGinnis (Maxine) of Tipton, Ind., Mrs. Bob Williams (Mae) and Mrs. Wiley Wilder (Jerry) both of Jonesville, and Gladys Nevitt of Johnson City, Tenn.; and her special friend and hospice nurse, Tommie Harding of Jonesville. Funeral service were held at 8 p.m. Monday at Arney-Mullins Funeral Home, Jonesville Chapel, with the Rev. Zeke Moore and the Rev. Kevin Campbell officiating. Graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 4, at 11 a.m. in the McConnell Cemetery, Sandy Ridge area of Jonesville. Calling hours were from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Arney-Mullins Funeral Home, Jonesville, Va., which is in charge of arrangements.
