Stewart, Caldwell

I, Caldwell Stewart, as my Last Will devise that all my just debts should be paid.

Next I devise that the house and seven acres of land lying in Lincoln County near the Town of Crab Orchard and known as the Sam Haller property pass to and I hereby devise and Will said property to my daughter Mary M. Simpson and her children, wife of John R. Simpson and said Mary Simpson is hereby empowered to sell and convey said property to any one she may think proper and reinvest the money in other property for her benefit and her children.

The remainder of my property both real and personal goes to and is willed to my lawful heirs except Mary Simpson and her children to whence I Will the house and ground above described.

I want L.C. Gossett (possibly P.C. Gossett) to have my bureau and clock and my daughter Mary Simpson to have my bed in addition to the house and land above mentioned.

My mare and calf I want sold to pay my burial expenses.

I hereby appoint John R. Simpson and L.P. Young as my executors to carry out and complete this My Last Will and Testament.

I, Jona B. Nichols, Clerk of the Boyle County Court, do certify that the foregoing instrument of writing purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of C. Stewart was this day produced to Court and duly proven by the oath of L.P. Young and A.M. Williams the subscribing witnesses thereto. It is therefore adjudged by the Court to be the true Last Will and Testament of said Stewart and as such ordered to be recorded which has been done. Given under my hand this 18th day of July, 1870.

We the undersigned appointed by the Boyle County Court, appraisers of the Estate of C. Stewart, deceased, after being first duly sworn, did on the 19th day of September, 1870, make appraisement of the following articles, to wit:

1 clay bank mare    $40.00
1 sucking colt        $40.00
