Burkitt Cemetery, Bracken County, Kentucky

Cemetery Overview

The cemetery is located on 1019/Lenoxburg-Foster Road on private property.

From the Bracken Co. Historical Society Book: "There is an iron fence around the Burkitt section, and stones on the outside of the fence, on the south side. A Bracken County resident told me that a railroad crew is buried there, and they had to bury them quickly for they had cholera."

UPDATE: Suzan participated in the Burkitt Cemetery clean-up featured in The Bracken County News on April 16, 2009. She forwarded this photo of the gratifying results.
