Welcome to Breathitt County on KYGenWebThis KyGenWeb project is dedicated to maintaining genealogical information about our Breathitt County, Kentucky connecting families. This is an ongoing effort and needs your help. Any information you can add or correct contributes to the benefit of all Breathitt County family researchers.

Add to it, make corrections, etc. The Family Tree data file along with support files is 320m+, the picture folder contains 39,000+ pictures/documents (31.4GB). The database is in Legacy Family Tree (free, Windows) software. To get this database all I ask is you send a 1TB external hard drive to me, pay shipping both ways. I will copy the entirety of it and return to you. I have several thousands of dollars invested and over 20 years of work in this project, and it can be yours for just the cost of shipping a 1TB external hard drive both ways. Latest Major Site Updates Nov. 2021 - Beginning slow conversion to mobile friendly. New menu. Continued clean up. Jun 23, 2020 - Added Research Requests page. May 19, 2020 - Continued site clean-up and some new and fixed links. Jun 20, 2019 - The Funeral Cards and Newspaper Obituaries pages have been combined in to one which is easier to use. All obituaries have been separated as well. Please update your bookmarks OR better yet start your research on this home page which will always be updated to reflect any changes in the site. Thanks!
