Willis Herald, 72, of Combs, died Sunday, December 7 at his residence. He
was a retired coal miner.
He was the son of the late Grandvill Herald and the late Charity Herald.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie Herald; daughters Carol and Donald,
Ruthie and Donnie and Hazel and Glenn; sons Harold and Marla, James and Karen,
Wayne and Cathy, Clyde and Mae and Felix and Anna Faye; brother Tuson Herald; 23
grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family
and friends.
Arrangements were handled by Maggard Brothers Funeral Home of Hazard where
the family received friends on Wednesday, December 10. The funeral service was
conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, December 11 with Joe Asher and
Merrill David Collins officiating. Burial was at Herald Family Cemetery located
at Combs.

She was also a member of the Wabaco Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in
death by her parents and brothers Letch Turner and Wiley Turner, Jr. She is
survived by son Elisha "Buddy" Combs, Jr. of Grapevine; special
daughter-in-law Janet; sister Stella Faye Turner of Hazard; two grandchildren; three
step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and
friends.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 29 at the Engle-Walker Perry
Chapel. Burial took place at Riverside Cemetery in Hazard after the service. You

NEWPORT - Manuell Combs, 74, died Wednesday June 11 at Hospice of Cincinna ti.
He was a labeler at Kroger and an Army veteran who served in the Korean Wa r. He was also a Mason and member of the First Baptist Church in Newport.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Combs; daughter, Diana Heitmeier and b rothers, Mitchell and Roscoe Combs.
Visitation is 9 a.m. to noon Monday June 16 at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funer al Home, Newport with services following at the funeral home. Burial wi ll be at Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
