122. Edward Spicer was born on 1 Aug 1947 in Jackson, Breathitt Co, KY, died on 16 Oct 2006 in Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington, Fayette Co, KY at age 59, and was buried on 19 Oct 2006 in Ned Spicer Cemetery, Canoe, Breathitt Co, KY.

Spicer
Edward Spicer, 59, of Versailles, formerly of Louisa, husband of Wilma Spicer, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, at the Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington, after a long illness.
The son of the late Granville and Florence Alda Spicer, he was affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and was most recently a member of Versailles Baptist Church. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Louisa. He worked as 4-H agent in Lawrence County, and had a 16-year career at Marrowbone Coal Company. He also taught at Breathitt County High School, Lawrence County High School, Franklin County, Woodford County, and the Methodist Children's Home in Versailles. He also was a substitute bus driver for Bluegrass Tours. He had been active in various civic organizations, including the Jaycees of Jackson, the Rotary Club of Louisa, and Gideons International, and was a member of the Three Rivers Hospital board of trustees in Louisa. He served with the Kentucky National Guard, was a Kentucky Wildcat fan, and followed high school sports very closely, attending more than 30 consecutive Boys' Sweet Sixteen state tournaments.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Kevin, Lexington; a sister, Lila Jean Smith, Union; two brothers, Jeffrey, Northern Kentucky, and Donnie, Union; aunts and uncles Amy and James Fugate, Canoe, Laura and Oscar Derickson, Florida, Alma Turner, Canoe, Mary Lou Sebastian, Somerset, Claude and Rosie Sebastian, South Carolina, and James and Margaret Sebastian, Cincinnati, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A brother, Robert Spicer, is deceased.
Services were conducted Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Watts Funeral Home Chapel, Jackson, by Bro. Ric Frazier. Burial was in the Ned Spicer Cemetery at Canoe. Family members served as casket bearers.

Edward married Doris.
