Second Generation 2. William Spicer was born on 11 Jan 1754 in Culpeper Co, VA, died on 4 Sep 1843 in Wilkes Co, NC at age 89, and was buried in Round Hill Cemetery, Wilkes Co, NC.

William Spicer was a member of the Virginia State Militia and was a minute-man during the Revolution. He is buried in the family cemetery at Round Hill Church in Wilkes County, NC. His grave is marked by the DAR.
William Spicer moved to Wilkes County in 1775 and raised a large family there. His first wife was Jemima Haines, or Hinds, the daughter of Joseph Haines and Molly Knoll or Nall. There is some evidence that William Spicer was married three times. He married Sarah Jane Watts on Novmeber 16, 1796. Another wife may have been named Mary.

William was born in VA. and was in Lord Dunsmore's War 1774 then moved to Surry County, N.C. in 1775 fought in the American Revolution against the Tories and Cherokee

William married Jemima Hinds in 1781 in Wilkes Co, NC. Jemima was born about 1760.
