Pearl Margaret
[Smith] Byrd, 86, of Sulphur, Ky., died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at
Baptist Hospital Northeast in La Grange, Ky.
She was born Dec. 22, 1923, in Carrollton, Ky., the daughter of Otis and Azora
Jackson Smith. She was self-employed. She enjoyed flowers and tending her
garden. She also enjoyed her pets, especially her cats and dogs. In early years,
she enjoyed crocheting and sewing.
She is survived by three children, David W. Byrd and Delcie Powell, both of
Sulphur, Ky. and Dallas Drury of Campbellsburg, Ky.; two grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Byrd, and her parents.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ransdell Funeral Home in Campbellsburg,
Ky.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9
a.m. until the service.
