LIBERTY - Lucille Lynn Neff, 66, Indianapolis, died Tuesday at St.
Frances Hospital, Beech Grove, Ind.
She was a daughter of Ola M. Lynn of Indianapolis and the late Ira
B. Lynn. She was a retired machine operator for Rise Paper Company
and formerly worked for Stark and Wetzel. She was a member of
Plainfield Holiness Church.
Additional survivors include four sons, Randall E., Mitchell T., and
Timothy S. Neff, all of Indianapolis, and Ronald M. Neff of
Plainfield, Ind; two brothers, Lowell Lynn of Monrovia, Ind., and
Gary Lynn of Liberty; two sisters, Lois Beck of Louisville and
Geraldine Francis of Danville, Ind.; seven grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be noon Saturday in Wilson Cemetery, Casey
County.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Bartle Funeral Home.

LIBERTY -- Russell Wesley Brown, 81, Ky. 49, Liberty, died Tuesday
at home after a long illness.
Born Nov. 1, 1915, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Coleman
and Maude Wilson Brown. He was a retired Liberty postmaster and an
Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist
Church, a member and past master of Craftsman Masonic Lodge 722 and
a charter member of Casey Chapter of Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, Ova Lee Brown; five children, Kenneth
Brown, Evelyn Reed, Shirley Reed, Judy Price and Boyd Brown, all of
Liberty; a sister, Della Wilson, Frankfort; a half brother, Warren
Vaught, Elkhorn; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren;
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by
the Revs. Richard Easterling and Clifford DeHart. Burial will be at
Caney Fork Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Friday with Masonic services at 7
p.m.

LIBERTY -- Hester M. Russell, 91, Route 65, Liberty, died Tuesday at
Baptist Hospital East, Louisville.
Born July 27, 1905, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late
Christopher and Isabell McDonald Meeks. She was a homemaker and a
member of Antioch Christian Church. She was the widow of Charles H.
Russell.
Survivors include four daughters, Rethel Fights of Fairfield, Ohio,
Laura Kolb of Oxford, Ohio, Betsy Conaster of Louisville and
Charlene Nowak of Decatur, Ala.; a son, Raymond Russell, Liberty; 19
grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the
Rev. Paul Patton. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.

LIBERTY - Helen Louise Bray, 60, of Urbana, Ill., formerly of
Liberty, died Thursday in Irbana.
Born May 12, 1936, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late
Clifford and Jewell Hopper Bray. She was a nurse and a member of
Webber Street Church of Christ, Urbana.
Survivors include a stepsister, Madonna Bailey of Mahomet, Ill.; and
three stepbrothers, Arthur Atchigon of Saudi Arabia, Andrew Atchigon
of Manhattan, Kan., and Roger Atchigon of Normal, Ill.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the
Rev. Greg Powell. Burial will be in Poplar Hill Cemetery.

Services for Betty Ann Lamkin, 68, Lumberton, N.C., formerly of

She died Wednesday at Duke University Hospital, Durham, N.C.
Born April 22, 1928, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the
late Vannie Burl and Lora Mae Preston Lane. She was a retired
seamstress for Jane and Linda Sportswear, Lebanon, and a member of
Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Carl L. Lamkin; two daughters, Mary
A. Wilkerson of Terre Haute, Ind., and Carolyn Marie Hardin of
Springfield; two sons, Mike Lamkin of Lumberton and Joe Lamkin of
Louisville; two sisters, Edna Mae Evans of Danville and Doris Purdom
of Gravel Switch; and four grandchildren.

MORELAND - Edith Mae Sears Kaufman, 88, Junction City, died Tuesday
at Harrodsburg Health Care Center. Born July 4, 1908, in Casey
County, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Emma Johnson Sears.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God. Survivors
include three daughters, Wanda Jones and Chelcie Griffin, both of
Junction City, and Fay Wilkerson, Adair County; a son, Edward Peck,
Stanford; a brother, Melvin Sears, Junction City; 13 grandchildren;
18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Services
will be 2 p.m. Thursday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Revs. Tom
Cox and John Rasal. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.

Allen, Cheryl Chandler and Elizabeth Noel, all Louisville, and

Born Jan. 23, 1919, in Casey County, he was a son of the late David
A. and Pearlie Atwood Wheeler.
He was a retired truck driver with United Trucking Service and a
World War II Navy veteran.

Jeff Wheeler Jr. of Lexington; three daughters, Alice Wheeler,
Gladys Wheeler, and Jeffnye Strey, all of Danville; four stepsons,

She died Wednesday at Liberty Care Center.
Born Aug. 12, 1909, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late
John Elisha and Ora Tapscott Allen. She was a homemaker and a member
of Atwood Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Grover Brown; two sons, Vernon and
Shelby Brown, both of Liberty; two daughters, Shirley Simpson and
Phyllis Denson, both of Liberty; a sister, Esther Russell of
Cincinnati; two brothers, Ray and Clyde Allen, both of Liberty; nine
grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and
two step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two
daughters, Thelma Adell Brown and an infant.

University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.
Born May 9, 1940, in Casey County, he was the son of the late
Lawrence Wall and Ettia N. Wall Helm. He was a self-employed
sanitation worker.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Standifer Wall; four sons, Patrick
Wall of Lancaster, Kevin Wall of Stanford and Chris and Dewayne
Wall, both of Kings Mountain; two daughters, Tina Reynolds of
Lancaster and Lisa Ryan of Stanford; seven sisters, Linda Durham,
Belinda Emerson, Rhonda Lawless and Yvonda Wall, all of Russell
Springs, Brenda Forsee and Wanda Luttrell, both of Dunnville, and
Glenda Siler of Waynesburg; three brothers, Zendell and Wendell

Born Jan. 28, 1923, in Casey County, she was a daughter of Fate and
Eddie Phillips Shelton.
She was a seamstress, and a custodian of Immanuel Baptist Church
where she was a member and taught Sunday School for 40 years.
Survivors include her husband, Clinton Howson; three sons, Billy Joe
Howson of Shepherdsville, Jack Lee Howson of Henryville, Ind.; and
Jerry Dale Howson of Stanford; a daughter, Betty Yates of Danville;
a brother, Eugene Shelton of Kings Mountain; four sisters, Sara
Ashley of Eubank, Velma Adington of Waynesburg, Beatrice Statum of
Kings Mountain and Bessie Brown of Waynesburg; eight grandchildren
and eight great-grandchildren.

Born March 30, 1916, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late
Joseph and Esther Rigney Mills. She was a homemaker. She and her
late husband, Sherman Rigney, ran Rigney Grocery for 40 years.
She also was preceded in death by two sons, William and Joseph
Rigney.
Survivors include four daughters, Ann Hughes of Milan, Ind., Esther
Rayborn of Yosemite, Manell Martin of Lexington, and Gladys Cross of
Selma, Ind.; one brother, Howard Mills of Liberty; 11 grandchildren;
and 23 great-grandchildren.

at Tarter Gate Company and a member of Mount Calvary Church.
Survivors include three sons, Melvin Daniel, Vernon Daniel and
Michael Daniel, all of Dunnville; three daughters, Margaret Ann
Richards of Dunnville, Mary Johnson of Rockhold, and Judy Taylor of
Springfield, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.

and fire chief, died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical
Center.
He was former owner and manager of Gulf Service Station and Lynn
Hardware, Hustonville. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 184,
attended the Baptist church, and was Hustonville fire chief for 40
years.
Born Feb. 23, 1926, in Casey County, he was a son of the late John
Clay and Effie Ann Wayne Lynn and the widower of Marie Cannon Lynn.
Survivors include his wife, June Milbern Lynn; a son, Gary Lynn of
Hustonville; a stepson, Ronald Wardrip of Lancaster; a stepdaughter,
Susan Gambrel of Lancaster; two brothers, Gilbert Lynn of Dayton,
and Clifton Lynn of Hustonville; a sister, Mildred Wilson of
Danville; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three step

Lawless. She was a homemaker and a member of Poplar Hill Church of
Christ.
Survivors include a son, Ethridge Ray Lawless of Louisville; a
daughter, Deloris Kleine of Cincinnati; two brothers, Ray Hopper and

He died Tuesday at Charleston Health Care Center. Born Aug. 16,
1907, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Leslie and Kizzie
Goode Coppage. He was a farmer and a member of Rocky Ford Baptist
Church. He was the widower of Myrtie Downey Coppage.
Survivors are a son, Edwin "Buddy" Coppage, Liberty; four daughters,
Alta Reid of Hustonville, Frances Porter of Charlestown, Ind., Anna
Vanoy of Frankfort and Zetta Vaught of Lexington; a sister,
Christine Downey, Princeton; 34 grandchildren; 64
great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He was

W. and Grace Thomas Huffaker. He was retired from Adkins Saw Co. in
Indianapolis. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include three brothers, Jack Huffaker of Goshen, Ohio,
William T. Huffaker of Sheperdsville, and Jesse Huffaker of
Martinsville, Ind.; and three sisters, Dulcie Russell of Louisville,
Margie Watson of Scipio, Ind., and Bonnie Gilpin of Liberty.

member of Craftsman Masonic Lodge No. 722. He was the widower of
Jewell Harrison Lee. Survivors include four daughters, Norma Lockard
of Jeffersonville, Ind., Ina Ellis of Dunnville, Linda Evans of
Hustonville and Leveta Burns of Russell Springs; eight sons, Ray Lee

MIDDLEBURG - Julia Amy Durham, 86, of Yosemite died Sunday at home.
Born Dec. 24, 1910, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late
Walter and Effie Godbey. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt.
Olive Christian Church. She was the widow of Preston Durham.
Survivors include two daughters, Louise Ransdell of Harrodsburg and
Mary Bradford of Bradenton, Fla.; two sisters, Nell Rose of
Crestwood and Wilma Coleman of Stanford; three grandchildren; and
seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bartle Funeral Home by
the Rev. Greg Powell. Burial will be in Salyers Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike and Marty Hatter, Hollis Judd, Jason
Richardson, Glen Carmen and Sonny Emerson.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.
