Vernon Lewis Elmore of Columbus, Ohio died Thursday, April 9, 2009 in Middleburg. He was 73.

Born on July 16, 1935 in Casey County, he was a son of the late Dee and Eva Hamilton Elmore.

He was retired from G.E. and a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church. He was the widower of Mildred Estep Elmore.

Survivors include three daughters,  five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters and three brothers.

He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Lewis Elmore.

Funeral services were April 10 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Matt Jones and Bro. Marvin Lane. Burial was in Grove Ridge Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Phillip, Jeff, Donald Wayne, Danny Joe and Ricky Elmore, Brad Briscoe, and Ricky and Chris McCammon.

Honorary pallbearers were Joshua Ducksworth and Savannah Wheeler.
