He and his beloved wife Shirlie
Smith Coleman were married July 18th, 1953 and celebrated their 53rd
wedding anniversary July 18, 2006. They moved to the Fairfield area
in 1959 and remained here throughout the years. Ernie,
affectionately known to his Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren as
"papa", was a man of integrity and loved his family and friends
deeply. He was so proud of his family. He was a man of quick He will be missed by many bowling
friends. He was very passionate about and loved playing his guitar.
He loved Country and Bluegrass music and went to live shows from
Ohio to Florida to hear the music he loved so much. He shared this
passion with his wife and his daughter, Britta, who works for
SonyBMG Music Ernie is survived by his beloved wife Shirlie, his daughter Britta Jane Coleman of Nashville TN, his son Edwin Ray Coleman and wife Tammy of Fairfield: Four Grandchildren: Edwin Ray Coleman, Jr. of Fairfield, Heather Byrd and husband Don of Nashville, Tiffany Wagers of Nashville and Erica Kemper and husband Ron of Fairfield; Six Great-Grandchildren: Hunter, Aidan and Aaron of Nashville TN and Connor, Avery and Max of Fairfield. We Will Miss You Papa. He will be greatly missed by his best friend Darrell Johnson of Fairfield. They shared similar interests, activities and laughter together for many years. He loved him like a Brother. He is survived by five sisters: Dorothy Brown of Somerset KY, Vivian Black of Yosemite KY, Betty and (Al) Moran of Kings Mountain KY, Peggy and (Jerry) Combs of Danville KY, Polly and (Benny) Durham of Yosemite KY, and One brother: Charles Coleman of Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Fran Dinger. Visitation will be held at Avance Funeral Home, Winton Rd in Fairfield on Friday September 29, 2006 from 6-8pm. He will make the journey home to his birthplace for services for family and friends at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Visitation at Spurlin's will be on Saturday September 30, 2006 from 6-8pm. Funeral service will be 1pm Sunday
at Spurlin Funeral Home with burial to follow at Buffalo Springs
