The following obituary appeared in the
June 14, 2006 issue of The News-Gazette, Champaign, IL:
"Eva D. Rainwater, 87, of Gibson City (IL) died at 7:44am Tuesday (June 13, 2006) at Gibson Area Hospital, Gibson City. Funeral services will be at 10am Friday at Lamb Funeral Home, 303 N. Chruch St., Gibson City. The Rev. Ken Chumbley will officiate. Burial will be in Drummer Township Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. "Mrs. Rainwater was born Dec. 18, 1918, in Casey County, Ky., a daughter of George W. and Artely Meece Holt. She married Ulen C. Rainwater on Dec. 16, 1939, in Pulaski County, Ky. He died Sept. 9, 1985. "Survivors include a son, Vernon Rainwater of Normal (IL); three daughters, Ella Tice and Caroline Schaefer, both of Gibson City, and Barbara Trowbridge of Saybrook (IL); seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. "Mrs. Rainwater was a member of Church of Christ in Gibson City and enjoyed crossword puzzles. "Memorials may be made to Church of Christ, Gibson City." **I have no connection to this family, nor do I have any other information.
