Iva B. Godbey
PERRYVILLE - Iva Mae Bastin Godbey, 81, of South Bragg Street,
Perryville, died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 8, 1916, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late
Green Lee Bastin and Bertha Roy Bastin. She was a homemaker, the widow
of Arnold Godbey, and a member of Valley Oak Baptist Church in Casey
County.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen Pike of Nicholasville and Juanita
Shelton of Crab Orchard; five sons, Russell Godbey, Travis Godbey,
Kenneth Godbey and Edward Godbey, all of Perryville, and Neal Godbey of
Danville; four sisters, Iona Gooch, Shirley Durbin and Dorothy Williams,
all of Cincinnati, and Bonnie Jean Carren of Mount Olive; four brothers,
Ralph Bastin of Eubank, Beacher Bastin of Cincinnati, Robert Bastin of
Kings Mountain and Verlis Bastin of Florida; 20 grandchildren; and 25
great-grandchildren.
Services will 11 a.m. Monday at Wilder Funeral Home by Burl Coffman.
Burial will be in Valley Oak Cemetery in Casey County.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Shelton II, Larry Bottoms, John Rousey, Danny
Godbey, Lee Phillips and Adam Hughes.

Elizabeth E. Hale
LIBERTY - Elizabeth Ellen Hale, 49, of Liberty died Saturday at Casey
County Hospital.
Born Jan. 29, 1948, in Casey County, she was the daughter of Athenia
Hafley Brown of Liberty and the late Walter Spurlin Brown. She was a
homemaker.
Additional survivors include four daughters, Rita Kay Hale, Sue Ellen
Hale and Holly Renee Hale, all of Liberty, and Vicky Louise Wade of
North Vernon, Ind.; two sons, James Robert Hale of Lebanon and William
Earl Hale of Liberty; a brother, George H. Brown of Liberty; two
sisters, Wanda Darlene Peyton of Hustonville and Hazel Jean Glover of
Edinburg, Ind.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Bartle Funeral Home by the Rev. Dwight
Coffman. Burial will be in Peyton Cemetery.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. today.

MORELAND - Dorothy Lee Snow Richards, 88, of Hustonville, died Sunday at
Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 7, 1909, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late R.D.
and Lizzie Sharp Snow. She was homemaker, the widow of Willie Richards
and a member of Ellisburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Vernon Richards, Harold Richards and Tony
Richards, all of Hustonville, and Larry Richards of Harrodsburg; three
daughters, Lucy Richards of Hustonville, Ina Clark of Drakesboro and
Audrey Carman of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Myrtle Richards and Edith
Sapp, both of Hustonville; a brother, Edward Snow of Hustonville; 15
grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She
was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth and Horace Richards; and two
daughters, Kathryn Shewmaker and Millie Richards.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the
Revs. Vola Brown and John Cato. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Derek, Steve, Danny, Tony, Charlie and Chad
Richards, Marty and Doug Clark. Honorary pallbearers are Darrell and
Charles Burchett.

LIBERTY - Services for Athenia Hafley Brown, 84, of Liberty, will be 1
p.m. Wednesday at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. James Lynn.
Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery.
She died Monday at home.
Born May 23, 1913, in Casey County, she was a daughter of George W. and
Bertha Conder Hafley. She was a homemaker and member of Chestnut Grove
Baptist Church. She was the widow of Walter S. Brown.
Survivors include a son, George H. Brown of Liberty; two daughters,
Wanda Darlene Peyton of Hustonville and Hazel Jean Glover of Edinburg,
Ind.; two sisters, Martha Beatty of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Bessie Moore
of Liberty; 21 grandchildren; and 29-great-grandchildren.

Chester B. Rayborn
WAYNESBURG - Services for Chester B. Rayborn, 72, of Kings Mountain,
will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Miracle Temple Church by Keith Williams.
Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery.
He died Sunday at home.
Born Sept. 8, 1924, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Jasper and
Ruthie Durham Rayborn. He was a retired Southern Railway employee and
farmer, and a member of Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Cora Bell Leach Rayborn; four sons, Herbert
M. Rayborn of Stanford, Leonard L. Rayborn of Kings Mountain, Randy R.
Rayborn of Broughtontown and Douglas M. Rayborn of Waynesburg; five
daughters, Margie Ellison, Sandy K. Witt, Marilyn S. Rayborn and Jamie
N. Rayborn, all of Kings Mountain, and Marlene McDonald of Somerset; two
brothers, Harold and Reed Rayborn of Middleburg; a sister, Eva Rayborn
of Indiana; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by a daughter, Leca G. Rayborn.

LIBERTY - Junie Melinda Meeks, 48, of Riffe Creek Road, Dunnville, died
Tuesday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center of natural
causes.
Born March 28, 1949, in Casey County, she was a daughter of Clara Evans
of Liberty and the late Clellie Evans. She was a florist for Countryside
Florist.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Meeks; two sons, Arnold Meeks of
Liberty and Brian Meeks of Dunnville; a daughter, Betty Jo Meeks of
Liberty; four sisters, Bonnie Brown and Irene Barrett, both of
Blandchester, Ohio, and Janet Helm and Jewell Meeks, both of Liberty;
five brothers, John, Jule, Jerry, and Clellie Evans Jr., all of Liberty,
and Leonard Evans of Blandchester.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the
Rev. Clifford DeHart. Burial will be in Casey County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Jeff, Darrell, Brian and Arnold Meeks and Michael and
Wayne Evans.

Ted V. Stickler
STANFORD - Services for Ted V. Stickler, 60, of Pine Grove Road, will be
2 p.m. Friday at Fox Funeral Home by the Chuck Bartlett. Burial will be
in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
He died Tuesday at Fort Logan Hospital of natural causes.
Born Oct. 4, 1937, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Louis E.
and Jessie Edster Stickler. He was a 31 year employee of Penn
Ventilation in Junction City and farmer. He was a member of Pine Grove
Church of Christ and Sheet Metal Workers Association 433.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Siler Stickler; two sons, Jeffrey
Stickler of Stanford and Jamie Stickler of Beattyville; a brother, Ned
Stickler of Stanford; a sister, Judy Goode of Cincinnati, Ohio; and four
grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Walter Dowell, Wayne Saylor, Tommy Messer, Dave
Nichol, Earl Harris and Gary Dowell.
Honorary pallbearers are William Tucker, Lowell Saylor, members of Pine

LIBERTY - James K. Helm, 74, of Liberty, died Wednesday at Lake
Cumberland Regional Medical Center, Somerset.
Born March 3, 1923, in Liberty, he was a son of the late James and
Bertha Fair Helm. He was a tree trimmer and attended Walnut Hill
Separate Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Huber Helm; three sons, Preston,
Kenny and Jerry Helm, all of Cincinnati; two daughters, Brenda S. Murray
of South Lebanon, Ohio, and Debra Marcum of Cincinnati; two stepsons,
James Maloy of Crab Orchard and David Maloy of Windsor; four
stepdaughters, Lisa Pierce of Somerset, Kimberly Coffey of Bowling
Green, Angela Durham of Yosemite and Amanda Maloy of Liberty; three
brothers, Howard Helm of Cincinnati, Glen Helm of Liberty and Ralph Helm
of Tucson, Ariz.; four sisters, Betty Clements of Indianapolis,

MORELAND - Jake Coffman, 88, of Middleburg, died Saturday at Stanford
House in Stanford.
Born Oct. 5, 1909, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Spilman
and Mary Catherine Pemberton Coffman. He was a farmer and attended the
Pentecostal Church of God. He was the widower of Mattie Pemberton
Coffman.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Greer of Middleburg and Sue King
of Junction City; one son, Charles Coffman of Hustonville; 21
grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev.
Charles White. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be his grandsons.

LIBERTY - George L. Dean, 51, of Ky. 1547, died Friday at Ephraim
McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, apparently of a heart
attack.
Born Feb. 23, 1946, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Eugene
and Lela Brown Dean. He was an employee of Sheridan Furniture Co.,
Liberty, and a member of Grace Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the
Army.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Givens Dean; one son, John Dean of
Liberty; one daughter, Letha Dean of Liberty; one stepson, Aaron Lohman
of Indianapolis; two stepdaughters, Michelle Vaughn of Indianapolis and
Alicia Derheim of Houston; four brothers, Jim Dean of Elizabethtown,
Billy Ray Dean of Tennessee, Fred Dean of Bardstown and Johnny Dean of
Liberty; one sister, Doris Davidson of Houston; and six grandchildren.

LIBERTY - Patricia Faye Martin, 52, of Henson Road died Friday at
Liberty Primary Care Center, apparently of a heart attack.
Born March 28, 1945, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late
John and Ethel King Hampton. She was secretary of East Casey County
Water District and a member of Antioch Christian Church. She belonged to
the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #30.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Martin; two sons, Phillip Martin
and Kenny Martin, both of Liberty; two daughters, Paula Martin and Karen
Roy, both of Liberty; two brothers, Robert Hampton and James Hampton,
both of Liberty; two sisters, Maynell Haggard of Liberty and Betty
Hudson of Dunnville; and four grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Rev.
Bryce McCulley. Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery.

HARRODSBURG - Services for Jimmie Minton, 81, of Curdsville Road, will
be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Shawnee Run Baptist Church by the Rev. Lester
Tirey. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He died Saturday at his residence after an illness.
Born Sept. 16, 1916, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Willie
and Ella Martin Minton. He was retired from University of Kentucky
College of Agriculture and a member of Shawnee Run Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lorine Peavler Minton; two sons, Billy
Minton of Mercer County and Steven Minton of Windsor; two brothers,
Stanley Minton of Windsor and Orel Minton of Crawfordsville, Ind.; three
sisters, Marie Gaines of Somerset, Sadie Clines of Windsor and Jewel
Thomas of Russell Springs; and two grandsons.

PERRYVILLE - William Ray Southerland, 67, of West Fifth Street,
Perryville, died Friday at his home.
Born May 12, 1930, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Charlie
and Bessie Taylor Southerland. He was a retired road construction
worker.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa Pendygraft Southerland of
Perryville; a son, William Allen Southerland of Perryville; two sisters,
Margaret Maddox and Eva Jenkins, both of Stanford; and a brother,
Kenneth Southerland of Hamilton, Ohio.

Harold G. Richards
MORELAND - Harold Glen Richards, 57, of Indianapolis, Ind., died Friday
at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Jan. 11, 1941, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Willie
and Dorothy Snow Richards. He was a veteran of the Korean War and
retired after 30 years with General Motors in Indianapolis.
Survivors include three brothers, Vernon and Tony Richards, both of
Hustonville, and Larry Richards of Harrodsburg; and three sisters, Ruby
Richards of Hustonville, Ina Clark of Drakesboro, and Audrey Carman of
Kings Mountain.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev.
John Cato. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery. Nephews will serve as
honorary pallbearers.
Visitation is after 10 a.m. today until time for the funeral.

LIBERTY - Roy Turpin, 81, of Liberty died Saturday at his residence.
Born Dec. 11, 1916, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Clarence
and Sally Turpin. He was a a retired pharmacist and an Army veteran of
World War II. He was a graduate of University of Kentucky School of
Pharmacy and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Hoskins Turpin; two stepsons,
William Alan Land of Louisville and Michael E. Land of Lexington; and a
brother, Eugene Turpin of Dallas, Texas.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church by the Rev.
Homer Hecht. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. today at Bartle Funeral Home and after 10
a.m. Monday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Steve and Donnie Sweeney, Brad Wesley, Johnny Dando,
J.O. Wilkerson and David Cundiff.

her home after a long illness.
Born Oct. 24, 1938, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late
Robert Lee and Mable Beal McFarland.
She was a retired secretary and a member of New Testament Baptist
Church.
Survivors include her hsuband, James Wesley; two sons, James Michael
Wesley of Liberty and David Lee Wesley of Cincinnati; a daughter, Teresa
Ann Laubach of Perkasie, Pa.; four sisters, Juanita Porter of Mount
Washington, Jean Fletcher of Liberty, and Diana Fassnacht and Patricia
Taylor, both of Cincinnati; a brother, Bobby Lee McFarland of Yosemite;
eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

STANFORD - Cora Foley Garland Thomas, 97, of Lexington, formerly of
Stanford, died Monday at Christian Healthcare Center, Lexington.
Born January 8, 1901, in Casey County, she was a daughter of James and
Vinnie Martin Foley. She was a homemaker and a member of Eastland Church
of God. She was the widow of Walter Garland and James Thomas.
Survivors include two daughters, Dartha Woodard and Elsie O'Neill, both
of Lexington; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by two daughters, Rosa Riley and Mary Ingram.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fox Funeral Home by the Rev.
Kenneth Mills. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Halls Gap.

HARRODSBURG - Services for Stella Carr, 54, of North Main Street, widow

She died Sunday at Haggin Memorial Hospital of natural causes.
Born May 5, 1943, in Casey County, she was a daughter of Thelma Wyatt
Gourley of Harrodsburg and the late William C. Russell. She was an
employee of Arby's and a homemaker.
Other survivors include two sons, Stuart Carr and Shane Carr, both of
Harrodsburg; three brothers, Jerry Phillips and Phillip Russell, both of
Danville, and Tony Russell of Harrodsburg; and a sister, Lora Crowe of
Hustonville.

Liberty, died Tuesday in Cincinnati.
Born March 4, 1935, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late
Gilmer and Millie Wesley Gadberry. She was a homemaker and widower of
Pierce L. Hines.
Survivors include two sons, Carl Hines and John Hines, both of
Cincinnati; a daughter, Mary A. Spaw of Cincinnati; four sisters, Susie
Folger of Stanford, Mildred Jones of Danville, Shirley Wesley of
Junction City and Ruby Dick of Liberty; three brothers, Harley and
William Gadberry, both of Junction City, and Billy R. Duncan of Liberty;
seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Born April 11, 1918, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Sam F.
and Carrie Sapp King. He was a retired farmer and a member of Trinity
Pentecostal Church.

Junior Allen.

MORELAND - Services for Elwood Peavyhouse, 56, of Junction City, will be
2 p.m. Thursday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Burl King.
Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery with military rites by Caswell
Saufley American Legion Post.
He died Monday at home of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after suffering
from cancer, according to Boyle County Deputy Coroner King Pruitt.
Born June 9, 1941 in Casey County, he was a son of Frances Reed
Peavyhouse of Stanford and the late Willie D. Peavyhouse. He was an Army
veteran of the Vietnam War.
Other survivors include his wife, Barbara Mullins Peavyhouse; a
daughter, Lisa Edwards of Hustonville; two sons, Robert E. Peavyhouse,
at home, and David W. Peavyhouse of Junction City; a brother, Gary W.
Peavyhouse of Waynesburg; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robert, David and Timothy Peavyhouse, Troy King and
Michael and Harold Mullins.

LIBERTY - Services for Ambrose Clark Jr., 51, of Liberty, will be 2 p.m.
Saturday at Willow Springs United Methodist Church by the Rev. David

He died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 7, 1947, in Casey County, he was a son of Blanche Wesley Clark
of Liberty and the late Ambrose Clark. He was a self-employed heavy
equipment operator, an employee of the Casey County Road Department and
a former deputy sheriff. He was a member of Willow Springs United
Methodist Church.
Other survivors include his wife, Martha Hatter Clark; a son, Steve
Clark of Liberty; a daughter, Cindy Board of Liberty; two brothers,
Harold Clark and James Clark, both of Liberty; four sisters, Faye
Cravens, Norma J. Hatter, Mae Bell and Gay Vaught, all of Liberty; and
three grandchildren.

She died Wednesday in Stanford.
Born June 18, 1904, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late
David V. and Leona Shelton Brown. She was a homemaker and a member of
South Fork Baptist Church, Casey County. She was the was the widow of
Virgil Coleman.
Survivors include three daughters, Hazel Foster of Stanford, Anna L.
Griffin of Waynesburg, and Violet Kidd of Stanford; three sons, Vernon
Coleman and Clifford Coleman, both of Stanford, and Floyd Coleman of
Hustonville; 29 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by a son, Lonzo Coleman.

died Wednesday in Cincinnati of natural causes.
Born April 24, 1962, in Casey County, he was a son of Shirley A. Hodge
Lane of Cincinnati and the late Hubert Lane.
Other survivors include his wife, Jennifer Ferguson Lane; two sons,
Donald Lane and Brent Lane, both of Elkhart, Ind.; a daughter, Brandi
Rae Lane of New York; three brothers, Billy J. Lane of Elkhart, and
Larry and Hubert Lane Jr., both of Cincinnati; two sisters, Loretta Lane
and Denise Aleshire, both of Cincinnati.

and Trua Godbey Ware. He was a retired farmer and a member of South Fork
Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Blanche Tarter Ware; two sons, Cecil Ware of

Russell Wright
LIBERTY - Russell Wright, 56, of Lebanon Road, a local businessman, died
Monday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, Lexington from
injuries suffered Saturday in a mowing accident at his residence.
The accident occurred at 10:45 a.m. EDT Saturday at Wright's residence
inside the limits of Liberty. He died as a result of an anoxic brain
injury, according to a report issued by the Fayette County Coroner's
office.
``Probably what happened, the grass was a little bit slick,'' said
Deputy Sheriff Garnett Sweeney. ``He just slipped over into the ditch
and the lawnmower fell on him.''
He was co-owner of Wright Implement Co., and attended Highway 49
Holiness Church.
Born July 11, 1941, in Casey County, he was a son of Lennie Sapp Wright
of Liberty and the late John W. Wright.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel Adams Wright; a son, Keith Wright of
Liberty; a daughter, Karen Ellison of Liberty; a brother, Ronald Wright
of Liberty; three sisters, Juanita Delp and Deborah Wesley, both of
Liberty, and Verona Atwood of Mount Washington; four grandchildren; and
a step granddaughter.

LIBERTY - Betty June Hudson, 61, of Ky. 127, Dunnville, died Friday at
her home after an illness.
Born Oct. 25, 1936, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late
John and Ethel Mae King Hampton. She was a housewife and a member of
Antioch Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Kelly Ray Hudson; two brothers, William
Robert Hampton and James Ralph Hampton, both of Liberty; and one sister,
Maynell Haggard of Liberty.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Clifford
DeHart. Burial will be in Thomastown Cemetery near Dunnville.
Visitation will be after 8 a.m. today until of time of the service.

LIBERTY - Anna Frances Barger Sharp, 99, of Louisville, formerly of
Liberty, died Saturday at Jewish Hospital, Louisville.
Born May 27, 1899, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late
Forrest and Susan Allen Barger and the widow of Lowell O. Sharp. She was
a former employee of Casey County Court clerk's office, and a member of
Liberty First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann Barger Shelby of Louisville; a sister,
Ruth Richards of Liberty; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Cemetery by the
Revs. Jim Brown and Sherman Richards.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

MORELAND - Thurmond Franklin Baxter, 75, of Hustonville, died Monday at
Veterans Administration, Lexington.
Born July 24, 1923, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Albert R.
Baxter and Ruth Simpson. He was a former postal employee in Danville and
a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include four sons, Randy, Dewey, Bobby and Terry Baxter, all
of Danville; a daughter, Pam Echeverrin of Danville; six grandchildren;
and a great-grandchild.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev.
Eugene McCawley. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

LIBERTY - Margie Thomas LaFavers, 88, of Adams Street, died Monday at
Casey County Hospital.
Born May 13, 1910, in Dunnville, she was a daughter of the late Hannable
and Alice McDonald Thomas. She was a retired merchant and attended
Liberty First Baptist Church. She was the widow of Olan LaFavers.
Survivors include a son, Michael LaFavers of Liberty; two brothers,
Thurlow Thomas and C.J. Thomas, both of Liberty; two sisters, Elizabeth
Terry of Dunnville and Opal McKleen of South Carolina; eight
grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death
by a son, Olan LaFavers Jr., and a daughter, Marketia Lynn.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the
Rev. Jim Brown. Burial will be Antioch Cemetery.

PERRYVILLE - Delbert Lee Wilson, 87, of South Buell died today at home.
Born Sept. 28, 1910, in Casey County, he was a son of the late John and
Mary Belle King Wilson. He was a retired farmer and a member of Sycamore
Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Johnson Wilson of Perryville; a son,
William Wilson of Perryville; three daughters, Judy Beedy of McKinney,
Sue Webb of Perryville and Janice Dunsmore of Louisville; seven
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Wilder Funeral Home with
Heath Stone officiating. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.

L. McFarland of Berea and Timothy McFarland of Casey County; and two
sisters, Martha James of Casey County and Becky Dixon of Lawrenceburg.

He died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 2, 1940, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Sid and
Ethel Shepperson Southerland. He was a self-employed drywall contractor
and a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Butchertown.
Survivors include his wife, Delois Ferrell Southerland; four sons,
Gregory and Roger Southerland, both of Gravel Switch, Brian Southerland
of Hustonville, and Dewayne Southerland of Danville; four daughters,
Freda Carey of Gravel Switch, Beverly King of Danville, Glorita Denson
of Hustonville and Tracy Brown of Moreland; two brothers, Robert
Southerland of Stanford and Buddy Southerland of Parksville; three
sisters, Edith Terrill of Hustonville, Laura Wilson of Danville, and

He died Monday at his home.
Born Aug. 30, 1933, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Herbert
and Myrtle Pennington Gosser. He was a farmer and attended Poplar Grove
Baptist Church and Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Wyatt Gosser; two sons, Jeffrey L.
Gosser and Bradley W. Gosser, both of Liberty; two sisters, Matrice
Russell of Liberty and Fredia Richardson of Lawrenceburg; three
brothers, Harvey and Horace Gosser, both of Liberty, and Gene Gosser of
Hustonville; and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by a
daughter, Leslie K. Gosser.

He died Monday at Russell County Hospital.
Born Feb. 2, 1937, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Logan and
Ora ``Doll'' Foster Campbell. He was a retired postal employee and a
retired Navy veteran.

Marsha McDonald of New Hampshire; a brother, Ray Campbell of Athens,

illness.
Born Sept. 10, 1917, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Gene
Albert and Sarah Jane Cain Terry. He was a deacon at the Dunnville
Christian Church and a Kentucky Colonel. He was a retired sawmill and
lumber businessman.
Survivors include: his wife, Elizabeth Thomas Terry; one son, Gary Terry
of Dunnville; one brother, Roy Terry of Liberty; one sister, Stella May
of Indiana; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the

Hospital, Campbellsville, of natural causes.
Born July 27, 1949, in Casey County, she was a daughter of Exie Harris
Sayers of Liberty and the late Hiram Sayers. She was a former employee
of Watson's Sawmill and a member of Canaan Valley Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jackie Chadwell; four daughters, Brenda
Lynn of Windsor, Glenda Eads, Bobbie Jo Eads and Sharon Byrd, all of
Liberty; a son, Marlet Chadwell of Liberty; three brothers, Roscoe,
Garnett and Jack Sayers, all of Liberty; three sisters, Betty Cundiff of
Dunnville, and Rosanne Goodin and Artie Davenport, both of Liberty; and
seven grandchildren.

STANFORD - Services for Raymond B. Putteet, 87, of Dogwood Drive, will

He died Tuesday at Fort Logan Hospital.
Born March 6, 1911, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Robert A.
and Louetta Phelps Putteet. He was a retired teacher having taught in
Lincoln and Casey counties and was principal at Broughtontown and Kings
Mountain schools. He also taught and retired as supervisor of
transportation for the Fairfield Ohio school district. He was a member
of Kings Mountain Methodist Church, and a 50-year member of Waynesburg
Masonic Lodge 328 F&AM.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Blanton Putteet; a son, R.B. Putteet
Jr. of Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Mary Lou Williams of Tuscon, Ariz.; a
sister, Wilmouth Miner of Fairfield, Ohio; two grandsons; and three
great-grandsons.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday with a Masonic service by
Waynesburg Masonic Lodge at 7:30 p.m.

veteran. He was a member of Corinth First Church of God, a life member
of Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member
of Casey County Beef and Pork Association.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Pevley Lawhorn; a son, Hershel Lawhorn
of Liberty; two daughters, Carla Owen of Liberty and Twila Vernon of
Greenwood, Ind.; a brother, Cleo Lawhorn of Dunnville; four
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

officer at Northpoint Training Center, and an Army veteran of World War
II.

sisters, Erie Wilkinson of Indianapolis, Ind., and Wavie Kerr of
Hiskell, Tenn.; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two

Hill Baptist Church. SHe was the widow of Gillen Brown.
Survivors include two sons, Elmer and Clyde Brown, both of Liberty; two
daughters, Rosie Sapp of Campbellsville and Orine Richardson of Liberty;
a brother, Alvin Byrd of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister, Nannie Tarter of
Columbus, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and nine
great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Herman
Brown.

Henry Wethington and Bertha Mae Carter Wethington.
He was an Army veteran and a retired sanitation engineer in Mount
Healthy, Ohio.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Hill of Liberty; a brother, Edgar
Wethington of Cloudland, Ga.; two sisters, Geneva West of Cincinnati and
Hazel Reese of Chickamauga, Ga.; two grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.

Rev. Simon Reese. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery with military rites
by the Casey County funeral squad.
