Kevin W. Dye
LIBERTY - Services for Kevin Wayne ``Pete'' Dye, 35, of Middleburg, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Bartle Funeral Home by the Rev. Richard Owens. Burial will be in Valley Oak Cemetery.
He died Tuesday at home.
Born Jan. 13, 1962, in Liberty, he was the son of Betty Cravens Robinson of Yosemite and the late Albert M. Dye. He was a former landscaper and employee of Casey County Stone. He was a member of Valley Oak Baptist Church.
Additional survivors include his stepfather, Jack Robinson of Yosemite; two sisters, Teresa Hale of Stanford and Lisa Bland of Liberty; two stepsisters, Rita Bowman and Audrey Bishop, both of Mount Vernon.

Mary L. Ellis
Mary Eller Luster Ellis, 77, of Campbell Lane, Lexington, died Friday at her home.
Born May 30, 1920, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Allie Martin Luster. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith. She was the widow of Raymond Carlisle Ellis.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Followell of Danville; two sons, James L. Ellis of Lexington and Robert C. Ellis of Harrodsburg; two nieces whom she reared, Darlene Luster Tipton of Nicholasville and Rita Faye Luster Pierce of Lexington; one brother, Homer Luster Sr. of Hustonville; three sisters, Nannie Ellis and Bessie Wood, both of Richmond, and Ruby Cain of Louisville; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by Ray Van Camp. Burial will be in Taylor-Clarkson, formerly Tanyard, Cemetery on Hwy. 37.

William C. McQueary
LIBERTY - William Chester McQueary, 57, of Poplar Springs Road died Thursday in Springfield, Mass. of natural causes.
Born Sept. 7, 1939 in Casey County, he was the son of the late Estel and Minnie Goforth McQueary. He was a truck driver and farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Miller McQueary; one stepdaughter, Pam Rousey of Liberty; three stepsons, Larry, Richard and Timothy Short, all of Liberty; one brother, James McQueary of Liberty; three sisters, Mary Simpson of Russell Springs, Jewell Strong of Cincinnati and Sabie Sallee of Liberty and 10 stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by C.B. Carman. Burial will be in Poplar Springs Cemetery.

Ausie R. Whited
LIBERTY - Services for Ausie Ray Whited, 80, of Caney Fork Road were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bartle Funeral Home by the Revs. Donald Lear and Darren Gillespie. Burial with military rites by the Casey County Funeral Squad was in Whited Cemetery.
He died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 5, 1916, in Casey County, he was the son of the late William Thomas and Louetta Allen Whited. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a farmer and attended the Carr's Chapel Church of God. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Whited.
Survivors include his wife, Veltha Sharp Whited; one daughter, Kathy Carr of Liberty; two brothers, Sherman Whited of Nicholasville and Lewis Whited of Liberty; three sisters, Lora Woodrum of Cincinnati and Flora Lee and Lela Miller, both of Liberty; and one granddaughter. [Published July 6, 1997]

Jerry Murphy
LIBERTY - Jerry Murphy, 55, of Ky. 910, Teddy Community, died Tuesday at Casey County Hospital.
Born July 6, 1942, in Danville, Ind., he was a son of Effie Lay Murphy of Liberty the late Murl C. Murphy. He was a tree trimmer, mechanic and bus driver for Casey County Schools.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Haynes Murphy; two sons, David Murphy and Eric Murphy, both of Liberty; a daughter, Kellie Murphy of Liberty; four brothers, Michael Murphy and Teddy Lynn, both of Forest, Ind., Walter Murphy of Elkhorn, and Donald Murphy of Greensburg; and three sisters, Norvella Phillips of Frankfort, Mildred Monday of Anderson, Ind., and Charolette Cochran of Lawrenceburg.
Services will be 2 p.m. CST Friday at Goodwin Funeral Home, Frankfort, Ind. Burial will be in Bunnel Cemetery.

Russie M. Watson
MORELAND - Russie Mae Watson, 78, of Hustonville, died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born July 11, 1918, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Killis and Minnie Hill Followell. She was a homemaker and a member of Jesus Name Pentecostal Church, Casey County. She was the widow of Edwin ``Pete'' Watson.
Survivors include four sons, Curtis G. Watson of Liberty, David J. Watson of Erlanger, Clyde B. Watson of Hustonville, and Donny R. Watson of Gravel Switch; two daughters, Elizabeth Watson of Hustonville and Julie Whitis of Eubank; a brother, Charles Follwell of Indiana, Frances Simpson of Illinois, and Lynelle Benson of Liberty; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at W.L. Pruitt by the Rev. Norris McCawley. Burial will be in Hustonvillle Cemetery.

Christine B. Wilhite
Services for Christine B. Wilhite, 83, of North Street, will be 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Second and Walnut, by the Rev. Richard Hill. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
She died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center after a long illness.
Born Nov. 1, 1913, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late John and Sarah Burdette. She was a seamstress and a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church, Senior Choir, Women's and Men's Improvement Club, and was past president of Pastors Aid Society and Lend A Hand Club. She was the widow of Chester Wilhite.
Survivors include four daughters, Sarah E. Porter of Harrodsburg, Helen R. Hunt of Louisville, Cairlyne W. Thomas of Marietta, Ga., and Barbara D. Wilhite of Jordan, Minn.; five sons, Chester R. Wilhite Jr. and John L. Wilhite, both of Detroit, Mich., Thomas C. Wilhite and George B. Wilhite, both of Danville, and Harold B. Wilhite of Harrodsburg; 47 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are deacons of First Baptist Church, flower girls and granddaughters.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Perry L. Overstreet
LIBERTY - Perry Lincoln Overstreet, 69, of Elmwood Place, Ohio, formerly of Liberty, died there Tuesday.
Born April 8, 1928, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Perry Hale and Bertha Crockett Overstreet. He was a retired factory worker and a member of Salem United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Pina Reed Overstreet; three sons, David, Jeff and Jerry Overstreet, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; a daughter, Janice Pairan of Goshen Ohio; four sisters, Emma Evans, Myrtle Woods and Jewell Luttrell, all of Liberty and Vergie Wilham of Erlanger; a brother, Clarence Overstreet of Amelia, Ohio; and a grandchild.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Rev. Darren Gillespie. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.

Glenna Rae Randolph
LIBERTY - Glenna Rae Randolph, 29, of Avon, Ind., died Friday in a fire that occurred in a house in near Brownsburg, Ind., where she was staying. Coroner Steve Matthews said the death is being treated as accidental.
Born March 18, 1968, in Casey County, she was a daughter of Glen Randolph and Judy Bernard Pendleton, both of Liberty. She was a waitress.
Survivors include three sons, James M. Terry of Liberty, Steven C. Randolph of Harrodsburg and Collin B. Randolph of Perryville; a daughter, Frankie Nichole Bernard of Louisville; three sisters, Angela Randolph of Harrodsburg, Sherry Randolph of Cincinnati, and Sheila Randolph of Indianapolis, Ind.; three brothers, Russell Randolph of Liberty, Glen Randolph Jr. and Ricky Randolph, both of Indianapolis.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Burial will be in Old Liberty Cemetery, Bradfordsville.

Louvenia Turpin
MORELAND - Louvenia Turpin, 64, of Hustonville, died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Burial will be in Dogwood Gap Cemetery, Casey County.
Born April 27, 1933, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Lou Downs Johnson. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband Major Howard Turpin Sr.; a daughter, Zetta Bolin of Hustonville; two brothers, Thomas Johnson of Bradfordsville, and Roland Johnson of Campbellsville; three sisters, Rose Marie Tungate of Campbellsville, Lillie Rakes of Lebanon and Mary Cox of Liberty; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Major Howard Turpin Jr.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Wayne Watts.
Pallbearers are David Turpin, Joey Mills, Morris Coffman, Dickie Reid, Leon Downs and Johnny Crowe.

Egbert Luttrell
LIBERTY - Egbert Luttrell, 76, of Brock Road, Dunnville, died Sunday at Casey County Hospital.
Born Sept. 14, 1920, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Estil and Ella Tarter Luttrell. He was a retired bus driver for Casey County schools and a farmer. He was a World War II Army veteran, and a member of Patterson Chapel Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell Overstreet Luttrell; two daughters, Wanda Hutchison of Monticello and Dianne Wright of Mount Juliet, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Luttrell.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Rev. Allen Johnson. Burial will be in Luttrell Cemetery.

Ernest J. Snow
STANFORD - Ernest John Snow, 87, Rube Brown Road, Hustonville, died today at Fort Logan Hospital.
Born Sept. 30, 1909, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Harvey and Ida Mae Martin Snow. He was a retired carpenter and farmer, and the widow of Freda Pullum Snow.
Survivors include a son, Ernest Ray Snow of Hustonville; three daughters, Ruth Roberts of Hustonville, Anna Rogers and Helen Hodge, both of Stanford; a brother, Carlos Snow of Bedford, Ohio; two sisters, Josephine Coleman and Maedail Taylor, both of Kings Mountain; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Fox Funeral Home.

Haskel C. Crowe
MORELAND - Haskel C. Crowe, 54, of Hustonville, died today at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born March 28, 1943, in Casey County, he was a son of Charlie Crow of Hustonville and the late Sarah Turpin Crow. He was a disabled farmer and a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Casey County.
Survivors include his wife, Lora Russell Crowe; three sons, Randall Crowe of Hustonville, Franklin E. Crowe of Hustonville and William G. Crowe of Yosemite; two daughters, Peggy Crowe of Somerset and Debra Murphy of Liberty; four brothers, Gene Crowe of Liberty, J.T. Crowe of Stanford and Glen and Donnie Crowe, both of Hustonville; two sisters, Beatrice Benedict and Nancy Griffin, both of Hustonville; and six grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Delas Earles. Burial will be in Maxey's Valley Cemetery, Casey County.

Mae Nagel
LIBERTY - Mae Nagel, 68, of Munfordville, formerly of Casey County, died Wednesday at Caverna Memorial Hospital.
Born July 25, 1929, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Bruce and Hester Payton Hale. She was a retired waitress.
Survivors include her husband; Joe Nagel; five stepsons, Joseph Nagel of Munfordville; Edward Nagel of Columbus, Ohio, Paul Nagel of Kentucky, John Nagel of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mike Nagel of Cincinnati, Ohio; four stepdaughters, Margaret Sterling of Cincinnati, Ann Nagel of Newport, and Kathleen and Mary Rose Nagel; two brothers, Arthur Hale of Hustonville and Marvin Hale of Somerset; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Bartle Funeral Home by the Rev. Leonard Streevel. Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery.

Willie Fletcher
LIBERTY - Willie Fletcher, 81, Caney Fork Road, Liberty, died Friday at the Casey County War Memorial Hospital.
Born April 10, 1916, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Joe and Donze Whited Fletcher. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Bethlehem Methodist Church. He was the widower of Molly Marie Woodrum Fletcher.
He is survived by two sons, Hugh Fletcher of Liberty and Larry Fletcher of Danville; a daughter, Sandra Allen of Cartersville., Ga.; a special friend, Georgia Richmann; three grandchildren, three step grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Bethlehem Methodist Church by the Rev. Darren Gillespie. Burial will be in Whited Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Todd, Sean Dailey, Tony Anderson, Steve Phillips, Robert Popplewell and Charlie Fletcher. Visitation is after 6 p.m. today at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Amanda B. Caudill
WAYNESBURG - Amanda Ann Bastin Caudill, 97, of Ware Road, died Friday at Stanford House Nursing Home in Stanford.
Born Aug. 18, 1899, in Mount Olive, Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Solomon and Mary Elizabeth Godbey Bastin. She was a homemaker who specialized in quilt-making and a member of Mount Olive Christian Church. She was the widow of Matthew Caudill. She was predeceased by two sons, Otha Ray Caudill and Franklin D. Caudill.
Survivors include five daughters, Edna Mae Ware and Deva Jean Jones, both of Waynesburg, Effie Marie Sims of Kings Mountain, Mary Nancy Moore of Cincinnati and Darlena B. Broady of Litchfield, Minn.; one brother, John Quincy Bastin of Mount Olive; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home by Mike Roberts and the Rev. Greg Powell. Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery, Casey County.
Pallbearers will be Gary Ware, Larry Ware, Dale Fair, Charles Sims, Don Caudill, Tony Moore, Timmy Moore and Terry Moore.

LIBERTY - Jennie Daniel, 93, of Liberty, died Friday at Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation, formerly Friendship House.
Born Dec. 15, 1903, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Richard and Nancy Elzada Luttrell. She was a housewife. She was preceded in death by a son, Walter Daniel.
Survivors include her husband, McKinley Daniel; four daughters, Opal Lynn of Liberty, Jewell Russell and Roxie Blake, both of Ohio, and Rose Allen of Barry; two sisters, Mary Brown of Windsor and Deliah Brown of Russell Springs; one brother, Cleo Luttrell of New York; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be today at Glenwood Cemetery by Michael Russell.

Douglas L. Reed
MORELAND - Douglas L. Reed, 48, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Campbellsville, died Wednesday at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
Born Jan. 28, 1949, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Lee and Maulsey Followell Reed. He was an employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville for 25 years and a member of Robertson Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Melby Reed; two daughters, Cindy Reed of Campbellsville and Kimberly D. King of Elizabethtown; a stepdaughter, Raedenna Underwood of Greensburg; a stepson, Stephen L. Melby of Louisville; three brothers, Hershel Reed of Danville, Hubert Reed of Bradfordsville and Carroll Reed of Hustonville; two sisters, Lora Overstreet of Danville and Carolyn Lane of Stanford; a grandson; and two step granddaughters.

MIDDLEBURG - James Earl Carman, 73, of Yosemite, died Sunday at home.
Born Sept. 23, 1923, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Ervin and Lillie Raney Carman. He was a retired carpenter, a Marine Corps veteran and a member of Middleburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Floyd Carman, two sons, Vernon Carman of Lancaster and Vincent Carman of Richmond; two brothers, Clarence Carman of Kings Mountain and Lowell Carman of McKinney; two sisters, Leona Floyd of Kings Mountain and Adell Corwin of Mainsville, Ohio; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bartle Funeral Home by the Rev. John Cummins. Burial will be in Middleburg Cemetery with military rites by Casey County Funeral Squad.

George E. Workman
LIBERTY - George E. Workman, 60, of Shorttown Road, died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 21, 1937, in Casey County, he was a son of the late E.E. and Nannie McAninch Workman. He was a Norfolk Southern Corp. employee, an Army veteran and a member of Green River Christian Church.
Survivors include a brother, Charles Workman of Liberty.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Rev. John P. Cummins. Burial will be in Poplar Hill Cemetery.

Eulena B. Cain
LIBERTY - Services for Mary Eulena Brown Cain, 66, of Liberty, were scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Bartle Funeral Home by the Rev. Greg Powell. Burial is in Poplar Hill Cemetery.
Born March 28, 1931, in Liberty, she was a daughter of Ruby Hatter Brown of Liberty and the late Hershel Brown. She was a retired employee of Kentucky Cabinet for Human Resources and a former interim administrator of Casey County War Memorial Hospital. She was a member of a Christian church and was a volunteer for Hospice.
Additional survivors include her husband, Elmer Cain; four daughters, Kathy Oglesby, Connie Dukes, and Mary Lee Knight, all of Madisonville, and Karen Helfert of Tennyson, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and six stepgrandchildren.

George L. Luster
ELIZABETHTOWN - George Lowell Luster, 75, of Elizabethtown, died Monday at Hardin Memorial Hospital of complications associated with cancer.
Born in Casey County, he was a son of the late George and Deedy Luster. He was a graduate of McKinney High School, attended Berea College, University of Kentucky and Ohio State University. He taught high school agriculture and was a professor at University of Kentucky College of Education. He was the director of Southeast Community College in Harlan County and academic dean at Elizabethtown Community College.
In 1962, he helped found an agricultural college in southern Iran. He was a member, moderator, deacon and teacher at Immanuel Baptist Church and a member of Rotary International and McKinney Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Wall Luster; three sisters, Mary Rose Bean of Bardstown, Marie Wells of Louisville, and Lillie Henninger of Danville.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles Darland. Burial will be in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m.
Memorials may go to Immanuel Baptist Church.

Esta M. Ewing
LIBERTY - Esta Mae Ewing, 87, of Liberty, died Wednesday at Spring View Hospital, Lebanon.
Born July 20, 1910, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Lieu and Edna Allen Ellis. She was a retired teacher and a member of Rocky Ford Baptist Church and Casey County Order of Eastern Star. She was the widow of Rue Ewing.
Survivors include two brothers, Iven Ellis of Florida and Russell Ellis of Campbellsville.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Rev. G.W. Smith. Burial will be in Old Liberty Cemetery at Bradfordsville.

Bobbie G. Morgan
MARTINSVILLE, Ind. - Bobbie G. Morgan, 53, of Clayton, Ind., died Saturday in Indianapolis.
Born June 29, 1944, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Brooklyn Morgan and Iva Mildred Wilson Phelps. He was an employee of Dorsett Brothers Elevator and a graduate of Monrovia High School.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Garner Morgan; four sons, Ricky Morgan of Homestead, Fla., Rod Morgan of Mooresville, Eric and Bobby Joe Morgan, both of Clayton; a daughter, Christy Morgan of Clayton; five brothers, Dennis, James and Steve Morgan, all of Kentucky, and Don Phelps of Greencastle, Ind., and Ronnie Phelps of Eminence, Ind.; three sisters, Kathy Mathews, Ruthie Sallee and Eva Jo Morgan, all of Kentucky; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepfather, Darius Phelps.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cure and Hensley Costin Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall, Ind.

MORELAND - James A. ``Pete'' Griffin, 63, of Hustonville, died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 17, 1933, in Casey County, he was a son of the late James and Abbie Mullins Griffin. He was a farmer and a member of Maxey's Valley Church of God.

Roy Gibson
LIBERTY - Roy Gibson, 82, Ky. 1859, died Tuesday at Liberty Care Center.
Born May 27, 1915, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Tim and Bessie Johnson Gibson. He was a farmer and was in the timber business. He was a member of Pine Grove Church and the widower of Ethel Bowlin Gibson.
Survivors are two daughters, Joyce Buck, Liberty, and Elizabeth Burton, Edinburgh, Ind.; a son, Carlos Gibson, Indianapolis; three brothers, Noah and Alvin Gibson, both of Geneva, and Coy Gibson, Liberty; a half brother, Dennis Foster, Harrodsburg; a half sister, Adel Barry, Louisville; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Revs. Jesse Long and Jeff Edwards. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Clyde E. Pike
LIBERTY - Clyde Edward Pike, 74, of Hwy. 518, Hustonville died Sunday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, Lexington.
Born May 28, 1923, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Claude and Bertha Bastin Pike. He was a self-employed construction worker and a member of Mount Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie Dunn Bastin; three sons, Gary Wayne Pike of Collinsville, Ala., Michael E. Pike of Yosemite and Clyde S. Pike of Mount Salem; three daughters, Betty S. Smith and Sherry L. Sullivan, both of Mount Salem and Tina M. Rhea of Moreland; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Robert D. Allen
LIBERTY - Robert D. Allen, 66, of Yukon, Okla., died there Saturday.
Born May 5, 1931, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Riley H. and Ada Wilkerson Allen. He was a retired farmer, a veteran of the Korean War and a member of First Christian Church, Somerset.
Survivors include his wife, Ila Owens Allen; a daughter, Marla K. Phillips of Bethany, Okla.; a brother, Riley Allen Jr. of Liberty; a sister, Agnes F. Krump of Hankinson, N.D.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Rev. Homer Hecht. Burial with military rites will be in Antioch Cemetery.

Hubert D. Roy
LIBERTY - Services for Hubert D. Roy, 71, Price Creek Road, will be 11 a.m. Friday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Rev. Clarmie Clawson. Burial will be in Roy Family Cemetery.
He died Tuesday in Somerset.
Born March 31, 1926, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Welsey and Cora Roy. He was a retired welder and farmer, a World War II Army veteran and the widower of Moneda Wilson Roy.
Survivors are three sons, Kenneth, Ralph and Garland Roy, all of Liberty; three daughters, Jacklin Bernard of Dunnville, Dixie Rigney of Winchester and Sharon Dunbar of Jamestown; a sister, Nadine Thomas, Dunnville; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Charles B. Moore
LIBERTY - Charles B. Moore, 66, Ky. 70 East, died Wednesday at home after an illness.
Born Dec. 10, 1931, in Liberty, he was a son of the late Cleo and Ruby Allen Moore. He was a retired employee of Casey County Road Department, an Army veteran and a member of Craftsman's Masonic Lodge 722 and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors are his wife, Christine Watson Moore; four daughters, Sherry Ritter and Pamela Moore, both of Liberty, Mary Miller of Bradenton, Fla., and Carolyn Carmen of Bethelridge; a sister, Ann Sandusky, Liberty; a brother, Moses Moore, Columbia; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

MIDDLEBURG - Services for Stanley R. Shoemaker, 80, Kings Mountain, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Bartle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Middleburg Cemetery.
He died Tuesday at Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Born July 6, 1917, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Harrison M. and Hema Raney Shoemaker. He was a retired farmer and truck driver, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Grove Ridge Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Celesta Bastin Shoemaker; a daughter, Glenda R. Walker, Candler, N.C.; two sisters, Pauline McWhorter of Middleburg and Ruby Clark of Cincinnati; two brothers, Harrison M. Shoemaker Jr. and Lloyd Shoemaker, both of Kings Mountain; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Garry Shoemaker.

Born June 15, 1911, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late B.F. and Maggie Scott Allen. She was a homemaker and a member of White Oak Union Church. She was the widow of Jake Patton.
Survivors include a daughter, Louise Ellis of Sandusky, Mich.; two sons, James Patton of Plainfield, Ind., and Junior Patton of Liberty; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

LIBERTY - Walter Price, 79, of Lexington, formerly of Yosemite, died Thursday at Central Baptist Hospital.
Born Aug. 26, 1918, in Casey County, he was a son of the late John T. and Docia Afton Price. He was a retried employee of Ford Motor Company in Cincinnati; an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Walltown Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Fayrene Gastineau Price; three daughters, Jean McAninch of Mason, Ohio, Wanda Spears of Liberty and Francis Pittman of Lexington; three sisters, Christine Blevins of Wood River, Ill., Margie French of Morganfield, and Maxine Godbey of Tequesta, Fla.; a brother, Paul Price of Walltown; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Bartle Funeral Home by the Rev. Paul Patton.
Burial will be in Casey County Memorial Gardens.

Lewis E. Sharp
LIBERTY - Lewis E. Sharp, 82, of Allen Street, died Friday at Casey County Hospital.
Born Oct. 16, 1915, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Lafe and Ella Games Sharp. He was a former director of McKinney-Brown and Bartle funeral homes. He was a former employee of the Kentucky Highway Department and bus driver for the Casey County School System. He belonged to Liberty First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Thompson Sharp; one son, Garland Sharp of Liberty; one daughter, Carol Gregory of Liberty; five sisters, Flossie Haggard, Mabel Emerson and Etwell Floyd, all of Liberty, Nettie Fair of Somerset and Minnie Lawhorn of Clinton, Ind.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Jimmy Brown. Burial will be Glenwood Cemetery.

LIBERTY - Virginia Price Welch, 72, of Frankfort, died Monday at Columbia Hospital, Frankfort.
Born Jan. 11, 1925, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Lillie Murphy Price. She was a retired accountant for the Kentucky Department of Revenue. She was a member of Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Fred E. Welch; two daughters, Mary Madelyn and Lauren Lee, both of Frankfort; a son, Frederick E. Welch II of Bardstown; four brothers, Lilburn, Earl, Ralph, and Rodney Price, all of Liberty; a sister, Helen Richards of Liberty; and a grandchild.

Born June 1, 1915, in Casey County, he was a son of the late William and Rebecca Shell Chadwell. He was a retired farmer and a member of South Fork Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Ida Price of Russell Springs and Bonnie Tucker of Columbia.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at South Fork Cemetery by the Rev. Clifford Dehart.

Willie Durham
STANFORD - Willie Durham, 87, of Old Somerset Road, died Wednesday at Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation.
Born Aug. 14, 1910, in Casey County, he was a son of the late James M. and Ida Wilson Durham. He was a mechanic for Lincoln County Board of Education for 25 years, and a maintenance employee of the Lincoln County courthouse for 15 years. He was a member of Blue Lick Baptist Church and was a Kentucky Colonel.
He was the widower of Verda M. Poppelwell Durham. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Guin Smallwood Brooks.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Durham of Waynesburg and Marion W. Durham of Stanford; and a daughter, Jacquline Foley of Stanford; two brothers, Johnny Durham of Stanford and Clifton Durham of Indianapolis; a sister, Gertrude Brent of Stanford; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Fox Funeral Home by the Rev. Gary Story.
Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Born Dec. 24, 1927, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Evelyn Burchell Shreve. She was the widow of Lewis Johnson. She had been a nursing assistant at Casey County Hospital and a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Judy A. Somerville of Columbia, Debbie Benedict of Hustonville, Vickie Sanders and Peggy Long, both of Liberty; three sons, Tim Johnson of Liberty, Larry Johnson of Ashland City, Tenn., and Ricky Johnson of Stanton; two brothers, Delmer Shreve of Liberty and Mitchell Shreve of Mansfield; three sisters, Doris Coffman and Martha Shreve, both of Liberty, and Corine Griffith of Franklin, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Born Sept. 17, 1925, in Casey County, she was a son of the late Eddie and Sarah Smith Russell. He was a retired farmer and former owner/operator of Russell Grocery. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of Hustonville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty True Russell; two daughters, Donna S. Robertson of Hustonville and Judy A. Melear of Louisville; two brothers, Carl Russell of Hustonville and Johnny Russell of Danville; two sisters, Nancy R. Dakin of Indianapolis, Ind., and Elizabeth Hullett of Burlington; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a stepgrandson.
