John D. Curtsinger
MORELAND - John David Curtsinger, 82, of Connersville, Ind., died Wednesday at home.
Born Feb. 27, 1916, in Casey County, he was a son of Samuel R. and Elizabeth Bunch Curtsinger and the widower of Lora Mullins Curtsinger. He was an Army
veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Bywaters of England; a brother, J.C. Curtsinger of Connersville; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Greg Nimmo. Burial will be in Moreland Cemetery.

Noah C. Gibson
LIBERTY - Noah Chester Gibson, 78, of Hustonville, died Thursday at Fort Logan Hospital.
Born April 25, 1920, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Tim and Bessie Johnson Gibson. He was a retired farmer and a member of McKinney Christian
Church.
Survivors include his wife, Vatus Emerson Gibson; five sons, Larry Gibson and Dallin Gibson, both of Georgetown, Gary Gibson, Russell Gibson and Ricky Gibson,
all of Lincoln County; three daughters, Sue Bailey of Georgetown, Faye Roy of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Phyllis Wallen of Franklin, Ind.; three brothers, Alvin Gibson
of Lincoln County, Coy Gibson of Casey County and Dennis Foster of Harrodsburg; a sister, Adel Derry of Louisville; 20 grandchildren; and 17
great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Rev. Aaron Snelling. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Vela M. Reid
LEXINGTON - Vela Moran Reid, 84, of Lexington, died Thursday at Samariatan Hospital.
Born in Casey County, she was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church for over 50 years and taught Sunday School. She was a retired Fayette County
teacher and State social worker.
Survivors include two daughters, Faith A. Osborne of Lexington and Rebecca Pope of Dallas, Texas; and three grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Centenary United Methodist Church, Lexington, by the Rev. Donald Durham, and 3 p.m. Saturday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral
Home, Moreland. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home and 2 p.m. until time of service Saturday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. [Published May 8, 1998]

Flossie Stinson
Flossie Conatser Stinson, 85, died Thursday at Charleston Healthcare Center. 
Born Nov. 29, 1912, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Phillip and Florence Payton Conatser. She was the widow of Willie Bird Stinson. She was a
homemaker. 
Survivors include two sisters, Edith Von Linger of Stanford and Ethel Coleman of McKinney; and nieces and nephews. 
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Bellevue Cemetery by the Rev. David Harris. Visitation is after noon Monday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home. [Published May 10, 1998]

LIBERTY - Judith Ann Allen, 33, Segal Wesley Avenue, died Sunday at home of natural causes. 
Born Aug. 14, 1964, in Casey County, she was a daughter of Mary Katherine Long Scott and the late William Shelby Scott. She was a homemaker and a member
of Brush Creek Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include her husband Robert L. Allen; two sons, Isaac McKay Allen and Daniel Coleton Allen, both at home; five sisters, Sheila Cox and Ricky Jean
Whitis, both of Hustonville, Wanda L. Coffman of Liberty, Vicky Lynn Hicks of Columbia, Susan Douglas of Yosemite; three brothers, Gale L. Scott of Liberty,
and Timmy and Troy D. Scott, both of Hustonville. 
Services were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Brush Creek Pentecostal Church by the Revs. Brad Walden, Burl King and Don Clark. Burial will be in
Whited
Cemetery.

RUSSELL SPRINGS - Larry Patrick Moore, 51, of Russell Springs, died Monday in Columbia.
Born June 20, 1946, in Casey County, he was a son of Betty Lee Hines Moore and the late Ira B. Moore. He was an offset printer and a member of
Mintonville
United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Andrea R. Moore of Russell Springs; a son, Dustin B. Moore of Russell Springs; two brothers, Douglas D. Moore of Grayson and
Ronnie Moore of Russell Springs; and two grandchildren.

Clayton Durham
MIDDLEBURG - Services for Clayton Durham, 62, of Red Bud Road, Waynesburg, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Mount Olive Christian Church by the Rev. Greg
Powell. Burial with military rites by the County Funeral Squad will be in Salyers Cemetery.
He died Thursday at his home.
Born Aug. 27, 1935, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Roscoe and Ruth Ramey Durham. He was a former employee of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co.
and an Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy McClure Durham; three brothers, Chester Durham of Somerset, John E. Durham of Yosemite and Richard Durham of Louisville;
three sisters, Jeanette Thompson of Danville and Mary Lou Lyons and Brenda Galloway, both of Harrodsburg.

Marie Durham
LIBERTY - Services for Marie Durham, 89, of Calvary Ridge Community, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bartle Funeral Home by the Revs. Wayne Naylor and C.B.
Carman. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
She died Tuesday at Fort Logan Hospital.
Born April 16, 1909, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Logan and Leona Watson Goforth. She was a homemaker and a member of House of Prayer
and the widow of Coker Durham.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth and Shannon Durham, both of Yosemite; a daughter, Deva Vance of Yosemite; two brothers, Marcus and Clifton Goforth,
both of Yosemite; three sisters, Ethel Barnett and Bonnie Durham, both of Yosemite, and Parker O'Neal of Alabama; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren;
and five step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Edward Durham.
Pallbearers will be Mike, Ed and Kenny Durham, Ezekiel Smith, Joe Gribbins and Donnie Goforth.

James Vernon Pemberton
MORELAND - James Vernon Pemberton, 65, died Saturday at Stanford House Nursing Home.
Born Aug. 24, 1932, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Jess R. Pemberton and Mable Hughes Pemberton. He was a retired steelworker and a member of
the Pentecostal church.
He is also survived by his wife, Jean Gill of Moreland; three sons, DeWayne Pemberton and Michael Lee Pemberton, both of Lexington, and Jimmy Dale
Pemberton of Iowa Park, Texas; three sisters, Brenda Dwight and Vonda Allen, both of Portage, Ind., and Veda Heuchin of Merritt Island, Fla.; and two brothers,
Bobby Pemberton of Moreland and Ronald Pemberton of Hobart, Ind.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Conley Tirey. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Paul Rice, Billy Rice, Harold McCowan, Micheal Lee Pemberton Jr., Merle Robertson and James Thomas Wilburn Sr.

WAYNESBURG - Lina Campbell Carman, 93, of Kings Mountain, died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 16, 1905, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Millard and Pricilla Falconbery Campbell. She was a homemaker, a member of Walltown
Christian Church and the widow of Manford Carman.
Survivors include three daughters, Pauline Snow and Wilma McQueen, both of Kings Mountain, and Hazel Gambrel of Amelia, Ohio; four grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Carman.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home by the Rev. Steven Willingham. Burial will be in KP Hall Cemetery, Kings Mountain.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.

MORELAND - Ray S. ``Shack'' Russell, 61, of Hustonville, died Sunday at his home.
Born Nov. 6, 1936, in Casey County, he was a son of Bessie Hafley Russell of Hustonville and the late Thomas S. Russell. He was a retired farmer and a member
of Ellisburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sadie Jeffries Russell; two sons, Steven R. Russell of Danville and Ricky S. Russell at home; two brothers, Clay G. Russell and Elmer T.
Russell, both of Hustonville; and four sisters, Velma J. Douglas of Harrodsburg, Vivian J. Allison of Gallatin, Tenn., Mary A. Reeves of Danville, and Helen Vanoy
of Junction City.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. G.W. Smith Jr. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

LIBERTY - Arthur Steinhauer, 75, of Liberty, died Sunday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. 
Born Nov. 22, 1922, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Ed and Myrtle Vaught Steinhauer. He was a former employee of King and Lane Service Station and
a member of The Church of the First Born. He was the widower of Evona Steinhauer.
Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Cox and Geraldine Cox, both of Liberty; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bartle Funeral Home by the Rev. Dwight Coffman. Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery.

Michael E. Poff
LIBERTY - Michael Eugene Poff, 43, of Ky. 206, died Thursday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center after a long illness.
Born Nov. 18, 1954 in Casey County, he was a son of Carl E. and Mary Carter Poff of Liberty. He was a former driver for Lathem Trucking Co.
Other survivors include his wife, Carolyn Morgan Poff; a daughter, Tammy Ann Poff of Liberty; two sons, Larry and Tony Poff, both of Liberty; three sisters,
Cynthia Brown and Andrea Watson, both of Liberty and Sandi Stargle-Dick of Russell Springs; a brother, Donnie Poff of Liberty; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Rev. Richard Bunner. Burial will be in Willow Springs Cemetery.

Graveside services for James Randall Hancock, 41, of Nichols Street, Danville, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Elders Cemetery by the Rev. Wendell Douglas.

and the late James C. Hancock.

Harold Martin
WAYNESBURG - Harold Martin, 66, of Sunrise Manor Nursing Home, Somerset, formerly of Waynesburg, died there today.
Born July 3, 1931, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Robert and Bella Napier Martin. 
Survivors include a sister, Mildred Martin Gooch of Nobelsville, Ind.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. today at KP Hall Cemetery, Kings Mountain.

LIBERTY - Herman L. Eads, 42, of Reynolds Creek Road, Liberty, died Tuesday at Jewish Hospital, Louisville, of an apparent heart attack.
Born Sept. 14, 1955, in Casey County, he was a son of Rebia Luttrell Eads Brockman of Windsor and the late Herbert Eads. He was a self-employed carpenter
and a member of New Life Tabernacle Church.
Other survivors include a stepfather, Kermit Brockman of Windsor; a former wife, Barbara Luttrell Eads of Liberty; a companion, Charlote Atwood of Liberty; two
sons, Kevin and Joseph Eads, both of Liberty; two daughters, Angela Eads of Liberty and Stephanie Sutton of Russell Springs; two sisters, Sue Wethington of
Windsor and Brenda Newton of Holy Cross; a brother, Allen Brockman; and four grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Rev. Curtis Breeden. Burial will be in Bowmer Cemetery.

LIBERTY - Ruby Luttrell Burnett, 75, of Hwy. 910, died Saturday at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. 
Born Nov. 22, 1922, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late John and Emma Sutherland Luttrell. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was the widow of James Burnett. 
Survivors include three brothers, Arnold Luttrell of Liberty; Cecil and Owen Luttrell, both of Russell Springs; and one sister, Vonnie Luttrell Whittle of Liberty. 
Services were scheduled for 1 p.m. today at McKinney Brown Funeral Home by the Rev. Clifford Dehart. Burial will be in the Birdie Russell Cemetery.

Iona D. Wilson 
MORELAND - Iona Dexter Wilson, 75, of Hustonville died Monday at her home.
Born Oct. 11, 1922, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Lucien and Maggie Mills Wilson. She was a member of Maxey's Valley First Church of God and a homemaker. A daughter, Shirley Napier, predeceased her.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Wilson; four sons, Marvin and Carl Wilson, both of Hustonville, Donald Wilson of Newport and Earl Wilson of Moreland;
two daughters, Dorothy Price of Perryville and Pauline Moberly of Nicholasville; a brother, Virgil Wilson of Gravel Switch; two sisters, Geneva Porter of Mitchellsburg and Louise Maddox of Waynesburg; 23 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. James Cobb. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

LIBERTY - Edna Lee Watkins, 99, of Taylor Street, died Monday at home.
Born Sept. 2, 1898, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Riley Ann Sanders Murphy. She was a retired substitute teacher and insurance
agent and a member of First Christian Church. She was charter member of Bicentennial Heritage Corp., Liberty Garden Club and Casey County Homemakers
Club. She was the widow of W.M. Watkins.
Survivors include three daughters, Josephine Foster of Liberty, Elizabeth Baker of Kihei, Hawaii, and Sharleen Power of Richmond; a son, Dr. James R. Watkins of
Harrodsburg; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Liberty First Christian Church by the Rev. Homer Hecht. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Visitation is 5:30-9 p.m. today at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

James E. Singleton
MORELAND - Services for James E. Singleton, 57, of Frog Branch Road, Stanford, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Moreland United Methodist Church by the Revs. Cleo Cox, Wayne Watts and Ed Parton. Burial will be in Maxey's Valley Cemetery.
He died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born July 24, 1940 in Casey County, he was a son of the late Marion and Georgia Ann Milburn Singleton. He was a self-employed building contractor for 40 years, and a member of Moreland United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Crews Singleton; a daughter, Camille Townes of Fairfield, Ohio; a son, James A. Singleton of Stanford; four brothers, Russell and Harlan Singleton, both of Louisville, Vancie and Chester Singleton, both of Danville; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Sims, Jeffrey McWhorter, Troy, Maurice and Wayne Maddox and Carl Singleton.

LIBERTY - Alter R. Harmon, 88, of Sugar Grove, Ill., died there Tuesday.
Born June 1, 1910, in Liberty, he was a son of the late Jody and Tildy Harmon. 
Survivors include his wife, Gracie Harmon; a daughter, Faye Bryant of Aurora, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elva, and two sons, Robert and Alter Harmon Jr.
Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Bartle Funeral Home by the Rev. Bill Coltharp. Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery.

Born October 10, 1940, in Casey County, he was a former bricklayer for Mills Construction. 
Survivors include his mother, Voicel Mills of Liberty; one daughter, Lisa Brummett of Pineville and two grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Bartle Funeral Home by the Revs. Buel Hayes and Clifford Dehart.
Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

LIBERTY - Ima Fae Emerson, 83, of Liberty, died Saturday at Liberty Care Center.
Born April 26, 1915, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Wiley and Mae Mabe Delp. She was a homemaker and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church for 60 years.
Survivors include her husband, Amos Emerson; a daughter, Lyda Caudill of Louisville; two sons, Ralph Emerson of Georgetown, Texas, and Denny Emerson of Noblesville, Ind.; a brother, Fred Delp of Cincinnati, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Rev. Richie Curtis. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.

LIBERTY - Forest Patton, 65, of Lexington, died Sunday at Central Baptist Hospital of natural causes
Born Dec. 14, 1932, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Okla and Mary L. Ellis Patton. He was a retired printer and composer for The Lexington Herald Leader, and a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Jeraldine Bryant Patton; two sons, Rodney Patton of Alexandria, Tenn., and Forest Patton Jr. of Richmond; two daughters, Debra Gukeisen of Winchester and Stacy Moore of Lexington; two brothers, Homer Patton of Newport News, Va., and Herman Patton of Dunnville; a sister, Myrna Knight of Smyrna, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Rev. Paul Patton. Burial will be Pellyton Cemetery.

He died Monday at Russell County Hospital.
Born Feb. 2, 1937, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Logan and Ora ``Doll'' Foster Campbell. He was a retired postal employee and a retired Navy veteran.
Survivors include a son, Dean Campbell of Cincinnati, Ohio; three daughters, Toni Van Stone and Rhonda McCreary, both of Cincinnati, and Marsha McDonald of New Hampshire; a brother, Ray Campbell of Athens, Ga.; two sisters, Geneva Bell of Moreland and Elece Hatter of Indianapolis, Ind.; and 12 grandchildren.

Arlos B. Simpson
PERRYVILLE - Services for Arlos B. Simpson, 71, of North Main Street, Monticello, formerly of Boyle County, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Wilder Funeral Home by the Rev. Wayne Malone. Burial will be in Simpson Cemetery, Casey County.
He died Tuesday at his home.
Born Oct. 25, 1927, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Charles L. and Marianne Wilson Simpson. He was a retired bridge construction worker, a member of Harvey Maguire Masonic Lodge 209 and Pine Lake Chapel, West Point, Ga.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Coggin Simpson; a son, Michael W. Simpson of Danville; two stepdaughters, Shelia Gunter and Susan Perkins, both of Monticello; a grandson; and four step grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Danny Bryant, Marshall Bryant, Stewart McDerrmott Jr., Carroll Purdom, Carl Leffew and JoPat Preston.

Arvil W. Terry
LIBERTY - Arvil W. Terry, 81, died Friday at his home after a long illness. 
Born Sept. 10, 1917, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Gene Albert and Sarah Jane Cain Terry. He was a deacon at the Dunnville Christian Church and a Kentucky Colonel. He was a retired sawmill and lumber businessman.
Survivors include: his wife, Elizabeth Thomas Terry; one son, Gary Terry of Dunnville; one brother, Roy Terry of Liberty; one sister, Stella May of Indiana; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Revs. Paul Viers and Jimmy Brown. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Greg Neat, Donald and David Tarter, Thurman and Larry Terry, Steve Fox and Glen and Dale Wilson.

LIBERTY - Fayrene Chadwell, 49, of Windsor, died Sunday at Taylor County Hospital, Campbellsville, of natural causes.
Born July 27, 1949, in Casey County, she was a daughter of Exie Harris Sayers of Liberty and the late Hiram Sayers. She was a former employee of Watson's Sawmill and a member of Canaan Valley Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jackie Chadwell; four daughters, Brenda Lynn of Windsor, Glenda Eads, Bobbie Jo Eads and Sharon Byrd, all of Liberty; a son, Marlet Chadwell of Liberty; three brothers, Roscoe, Garnett and Jack Sayers, all of Liberty; three sisters, Betty Cundiff of Dunnville, and Rosanne Goodin and Artie Davenport, both of Liberty; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bartle Funeral Home by the Rev. Vernon Blakey. Burial will be in South Fork Cemetery.

SCIENCE HILL - Mary Belle Emerson Eubank, 91, of Eubank, died Sunday at Garrard County Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 1, 1907, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late George T. and Artie L. Campbell Emerson. She was owner and operator of Eubank Service Station, a member of Eubank Church of Christ and the widow of Chester Eubank. 
Survivors include a daughter, Maxine Martin of Eubank; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Morris and Hislope Funeral Home by Harold Carter. Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery.

LIBERTY - Services for Pauline Goforth, 69, of Yosemite will be 2 p.m. today at Bartle Funeral Home by the Rev. Wayne Naylor. Burial will be in Poplar Hill Cemetery.
She died Friday at her home.
Born Aug. 26, 1929 in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Dewitt and Liza Patterson Raney. She was a housewife and a member of the House of Prayer.
Survivors include her husband, Clifton Goforth; three sons, Roger Goforth of Science Hill, Donnie and Darrell Goforth, both of Yosemite; a sister, Charlotte Carman of Yosemite; three brothers, Joe Raney of Moreland, Gerald Raney of Yosemite and Tyrone Raney of Liberty, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Douglas, Conrad and Gene Baldock, Brent, Gary and Jerome Raney.

LIBERTY - Avery ``Abe'' Buis, 81, of Liberty, died Wednesday at Casey County Hospital.
Born Feb. 17, 1917, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Jason and Pearlie Tarter Buis. He was a retired farmer and a member of Athens Church of Christ. 
Survivors include two brothers, Verlin Buis of Liberty and Ervin Buis of Eubank; and two sisters, Gertha Elmore of Yosemite and Maurine Fair of Liberty.

LIBERTY - Lola Nadene Thomas, 78, of Dunnville, died Saturday at Casey County Hospital.
Born Dec. 7, 1919, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Wesley and Cora Roy. She was the widow of Leslie Thomas. 
Survivors include two sons, David Thomas and Alton ``Buck'' Thomas, both of Dunnville; four daughters, Brenda Meece and Gail Arms, both of Dunnville, Darlene South of Greenwood, Ind., and Alta Grider of Liberty; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Leon and Donald Thomas; and a daughter, Wilda Thomas.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Rev. Wesley Roy and Shirley Denson. Burial will be in Thomas Ridge Cemetery.

Raymond B. Putteet
STANFORD - Services for Raymond B. Putteet, 87, of Dogwood Drive, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Fox Funeral Home by the Rev. Greg Powell. Burial will be in Parlor Grove Cemetery.
He died Tuesday at Fort Logan Hospital.
Born March 6, 1911, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Robert A. and Louetta Phelps Putteet. He was a retired teacher having taught in Lincoln and Casey counties and was principal at Broughtontown and Kings Mountain schools. He also taught and retired as supervisor of transportation for the Fairfield Ohio school district. He was a member of Kings Mountain Methodist Church, and a 50-year member of Waynesburg Masonic Lodge 328 F&AM.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Blanton Putteet; a son, R.B. Putteet Jr. of Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Mary Lou Williams of Tuscon, Ariz.; a sister, Wilmouth Miner of Fairfield, Ohio; two grandsons; and three great-grandsons.

LIBERTY - L.C. Young Jr., 71, of Harrodsburg, formerly of Liberty, died Wednesday at Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Born June 10, 1927, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Dr. L.C. and Rose Hammond Young. He was a retired teacher and federal corrections officer at Northpoint Training Center, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl McMahan of Chicago, Ill.; and a brother, Palmer Young of Lexington.

He was a member of Corinth First Church of God, a life member of Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of Casey County Beef and Pork Association.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Pevley Lawhorn; a son, Hershel Lawhorn of Liberty; two daughters, Carla Owen of Liberty and Twila Vernon of Greenwood, Ind.; a brother, Cleo Lawhorn of Dunnville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Isiah J. White, and two sisters, Lillie Statom and Permelia Haynes, both of Louisville.

Born Nov. 1904, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Jake and Mary Bell Taylor Byrd. She was a retired waitress and a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church. SHe was the widow of Gillen Brown.
Survivors include two sons, Elmer and Clyde Brown, both of Liberty; two daughters, Rosie Sapp of Campbellsville and Orine Richardson of Liberty; a brother, Alvin Byrd of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister, Nannie Tarter of Columbus, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Herman Brown.

LIBERTY - Nelson ``Mutt'' Wethington, 71, of Cincinnati died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born April 17, 1927, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Alvin Henry Wethington and Bertha Mae Carter Wethington.
He was an Army veteran and a retired sanitation engineer in Mount Healthy, Ohio.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Hill of Liberty; a brother, Edgar Wethington of Cloudland, Ga.; two sisters, Geneva West of Cincinnati and Hazel Reese of Chickamauga, Ga.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
