Carter Lawson was born in 1815 in Lee
Co. VA and came to Casey County after the Civil War. He had 12 children by
his first wife, Malvina Smith Lawson, as follows:

Carter Jr.
Malvina Lawson died in 1873, and Carter
remarried Mary "Polly" Luttrell (above). She was the daughter of
Joshua and Susannah Damron Luttrell, born 20 May 1857 in Casey County.
She and Carter had nine children:
