Rooks Burned To Death
James Rooks, about 60 years of age, was reported to have been burned to
death near his home near Pellyton, Casey county, the latter part of the
week. A post-mortem examination, however, disclosed that he had a
fractured or crushed skull, which was thought to have been inflicted by
a hammer, according to reports. None of the family was at home at the
time, except the wife, who with Eli Garrett are being held in default of
bond on murder charges.
