    Colonel Jesse Coffey and Brother Osborn came into Casey County at an
early date. A great-granddaughter of Christopher Rigge reports that Jesse
Coffey married Tabitha Riffe, sister to Christopher. To this union were born:
Tabitha (the Polly of Peter Bim's History) & Jeremiah Vardimer in 1829;
Nathan; Jesse; Dick; Christopher; Osborn; Miverva & a Slaughter; Martha
Francis & George Dawson; Millie & Benjamin Dawson, Jr. in 1830. Hannah &
James Coulter (children: Willis, Bettie, James, Belle, Jensey, Mary, Alice,
Florence, and Ellen).
    Nathan Coffey & Mary Leveridge and to this union were born: James K.;
Jesse; Joe; John; Willie; Jennie; Sis; Hemie; Bettie, and Ellen.
    Of this family Jennie & Robert Scott; Sis & James Bryant; Hemie & William
Fogle; Bettie & Mack Taylor; James K. & Ann Williams (children: Jason, Reid,
Nora, Mary, Nathan, Add, James, Lou Dye). To his last wife, Nannie Tilford,
were born: Myrtle, Sabra, and Nannie.
    Jesse married Sarah Ann Jasper (children: Alice, Kate, Clarence, Nannie,
and Otis.) Joe married Catharine Butt (children: Randolph, Josephine, and
Charles). John did not marry. Willie & Belle Butte (children: Chester,
Carrie, Arthur, and Willie).
    Of James K's children, Jason married first, Deva Cox, and later, Wauda
Hatter. Children by first union were Maxine, and Maurine. Reid married
McDella Cundiff (children: James, and Marguerite). Nathan married Patria
Butcher (children: Charles and Willie Ann). Add married a Miss Walters
(children: Addison and Chester); Mary & a Fuller and Nora & Ray Toms.
