THE SHARP TREE

	William Sharp married Elizabeth James in Maryland and settled on Brush Creek in 1798. 
To this union were born Nancy, James, Jackson, Benjamin, and Hannah.  Hannah & Ben Richards; 
James & Sally Cochran (children: William, John M., Wallace, Mack, George, Mary, Sarah, Susan 
and Lizzie). Of these children Lizzie & Jonathan Gadberry; Susan & Wm. Morris; Sarah & Matt 
White; Mary & Jim Allen; Mack did not marry; Wallace & a Davis; John M. & Lizzie Pigg 
(children: Kate, Lizzie, James W., Phoebe, Lena, and Rosie).

	William & Martha Peaches (children: Richard, Sam, Emma, Helen, and Betty). Of the 
children of John M. and Lizzie Pigg, Kate & Joe Wilkinson; Lizzie & Dee Snow; James W. & a 
Snow (son: J.W.); Richard married first Dollie Bransom and later Ella Williams (children by 
Dollie: Bill, Mack, and Anna).

	Jackson, son of William and Elizabeth, married Lucy Ann Wilkinson (children: Jasper, 
Sarah, Ann, America, Mary).  Jasper was killed; Sarah & Andy Barnett Williams; Ann & Ben 
Bransom; America & Marion (General) Sweeney; and Mary & James Cabell.
	
	Benjamin, son of William, married a Shucks (children: Nancy & Brice Edwards; Sally & 
John Mills; Harrison & a Rigney; James & Sally Barton; and John & Nancy Peyton). Another wife 
by the name of Cochran bore him Matilda & Robert Allen; and his third wife, Elizabeth Mills, 
bore him William & Sally Morris; Newton & Doll Calhoun; Jefferson & Jane Brown; Benjamin was 
killed in Civil War; Amanda & Monroe Brown; Miranda & James Rigney; Texton & Matilda White; 
Lorenzo & Celia White; and Shelton & Millie Bransom. John G. & a Morris and Nancy Peyton had 
the following children: Milford, Annetta, Florence, Dave, Belle, and Bill. Milford & a 
Christie; Annetta & a Baker; Florence & John Edwards; Belle & Wm. Atwood; Rill & Asa Peyton; 
and Dave married Nettie Williams (children: John G. Jr., Will, Crit, Dudley, Marcus, and 
Cintha).

	John G. Jr., married Martha McDaniel (children: May and Dave); Bill married a 
Jeffries (children: Everett and Fred); Crit & Mickey Cochran; Dudley & Frances Atwood; Marcus 
Lafayette (Lafe) & Ella Gains; and Cintha & Bill Cochran; James & Sally Barton had one son, 
John E. & Fidelity Napier (children: Patrick, Jim, Charley, Boyle, Josie, Cora, Johnnie, 
Dollie, and Susie). Pat married Florence Tilford (children: Tilford and Jane). He next 
married Maude Quinton (children: Iva, Vivian Hazel, and Pat). Jim, Cora, Johnnie, and Dollie 
were not married. Charley & Maggie Brown; Josie & Nauger Brown; and Susie & first a Whipp and 
later Levi Brown. Of Ben's other children Wm. & Sally Morris had the following children: 
Leslie and Mary Frances & George Wells. Jefferson & Jane Brown had a son Logan & Nannie 
Bransom (children: Lee & Ruth Dye; George & Mae Wilkinson; Spurlin & Claire Miller, Lula & 
Paul McDaniel; Lola & Edgar Witt; there were also Charley and Annie.).

	To Texton and Matilda White were born Clayton & Susie Beldon; Matt & a Cochran, and 
later Effie Raines; Serene Elizabeth & Preacher Lonzie Jeffries; Katie & Sheridan Jeffries; 
Sally & Clay Allen; and Ed & Della Toms (children: Ruby and Arvil).

	To Shelton Bailey & Millie Bransom was born Marcus Lafayette (M.L.) who first married 
Cora Hale (son: Bernal & Martha Dye), and later he married Minnie Bell Murphy.
