MY ADAMS ROOTS
    BY OWEN DAWSON
     HOLIDAY, FL., 34690

I will begin this Adams report with generation 5 as Generations 1, 2, 3, and 4 are covered in "My Dawson Roots"

Generation 5

Spencer Adams, born Feb. 23, 1773 to John Adams Jr. and Sarah -----(may have been Pigg) in Pittsylvania Co. Va.
Spencer married Sarah Corbin on Feb. 10, 1796. They and the Corbins moved to Clark Co., Ky, sometime before 1800 as Spencer Adams paid taxes there in 1800. Sarah was the Daughter of Rawley Corbin (1749-1818) and Sarah Krauss of Pittsy. Co., Va. Rawley was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Scott Corbin and grandson of Rawley Corbin and GGrandson of John Corbin and Elizabeth Smith, all of Stafford Co., Va. Now, back to Spencer and Sarah.

Spencer and Sarah (Corbin) Adams children are:
1-Lucy Adams, born CA 1796-1798 in Pittsylvania Co., Va. and married Lewis Pigg on April 4, 1814 in Clark Co., Ky. Their children and families are covered in "My Pigg Roots".

5-Elkanah Adams, born 1806 in Clark Co., Ky.
6-Suckey Adams, born CA 1808 in Clark Co.

*Some researchers say that this Lucy is not the Daughter of Spencer and Sarah Adams, but the evidence says otherwise. Spencer did sign her marriage bond and she was born the right time and place. There was another Lucy Adams that was the Daughter of Elkanah Cain Adams, but she married a Henry Fritts. Spencer died at the home of Achilles Eubank in Clark Co on June1, 1863. Evidently the Eubanks cared for him the last years of his life. Spencer is buried at the old Farm in Clark.

This information as with all genealogy reports are subject to error and/or omissions. I have done what I could with what information I have. I have use quite a bit of information from Dr. Robert E King's writings, some from Mabel Pitts writing and my own research. Any corrections or additions are welcomed. It was jnot my goal to include all the family tree branches, but to concentrate on my main lines. Owen Dawson owend@ozline.net
