Clark county is located in the central Bluegrass region of Kentucky.
It was formed in 1792 from Bourbon and Fayette counties and named for
General George Rogers Clark. The county seat is Winchester. Drakes were
among the earliest inhabitants. Winchester is the home of Ft.
Boonesborough. This would coincide with what Clarence Drake said about
Robert Drake having known Daniel Boone. It would also explain the
following marriage entry.]
