Family Bible of Jesse B. Pierce
and wife, Ella Reeves

The following is from the Bible of my great-grandparents, Jesse B. Pierce (b. 1861 Clinton Co.) and Esther Lucretia "Ella" REEVES (b. 1867 Clinton Co.)

Jesse PIERCE's parents were Francis M. PIERCE, d. abt. 1860 Clinton Co., and wife, Sarah "Sally"SMITH, of Clinton Co., KY.

Ella REEVE's parents were Arthur Duffield REEVES, b. 1816 Carter Co., TN, d. 1899 Young Co., TX (a son of Edward Prothero REEVES and Sarah PIERCE), and Mary Ann "Polly" BURCHETT, b. 1830, d. 1921 Grayson Co., TX (a daughter of Icil BURCHETT and Elizabeth "Betsy" HENRY).

Jesse PIERCE, wife Ella REEVES, and Ella's parents Arthur Duffield REEVES and Mary Ann "Polly" BURCHETT and 12 of their other children all migrated by wagon train to Texas, probably between about 1883 and 1893.

Ella REEVES was married to J.B. PIERCE on Saturday, September 22nd, 1883. (Note: Their full names were Esther Lucretia "Ella" REEVES and Jesse B. PIERCE.)

Arthur Franklin PIERCE was borned Tuesday, August 7th, 1894, in Young County TX.

George A. PIERCE was borned Saturday, September 4, 1897, in Motley County, TX.

Jesse Lee PIERCE was borned Tuesday, February 14, 1899, in Motley County, TX.

Cora Beatrice PIERCE was borned Thursday, March 7, 1901, in Motley County, TX.

Clara Bell PIERCE was borned Friday, September 4, 1903, in Motley County, TX.

Ralph Standifer (birth certificate says Stanton) PIERCE was borned Thursday, January 11, 1906 in Donley County, TX.

Bruce Roger (Rogers?) PIERCE was borned Sunday (?), December 20th, 1908 in Donley County, TX.

Baby PIERCE was borned Tuesday, January 17, 1922, in Woodson, Throckmorton County, TX. (This was the first grandchild, Billye Jean, dau. of Arthur Franklin PIERCE and Cleo HARLING.)

~ Deaths ~

Jesse B. PIERCE died September 4, 1918 (hunting accident, Throckmorton County, TX).

Our grandchild Kenneth ROBERTS died Wednesday, February 7, 1927, age 2 years 2 months 25 days.

(Grandchild) Jackey DICKENSON died October 6, 1930, age 5 years 5 months 24 days.

Note: Jesse B. PIERCE and wife Ella REEVES are buried beside each other in Woodson Cemetery, Woodson, Throckmorton Co., TX.)

Arthur Franklin PIERCE was married to Cleo Adele HARLING on Monday, January 10, 1921 (TX).

Cora Beatrice PIERCE was married to Jack DICKENSON on Friday, August 19, 1921 (TX).

Clara Bell PIERCE was married to T. Byrd ROBERTS on Saturday, (illegible), 1924 (TX).
