On this 8th day of November, 1887, at Seventy Six, County of Clinton, State of Kentucky, before me, W. H. Egleton a Special Examiner of the Pension Office, personally appeared Nancy Branham,~ who being by me first duly sworn to answer truly all interrogatories propounded to herduring this Special Examination of aforesaid Pension Claim, deposes and says: her age is 73, P. O. Cumberland City, Clinton Co. Ky. Occupation – Housekeeping.

I have known the client since I was a small girl but I had no acquaintance with Eli Brown until I saw him and Sarah Brown married at meeting one day at the Pine Woods School House near Cumberland City, Clinton Co. Ky.

Aaron Beck married them and I was present but I can’t remember what year it was or what month it was either.

When Eli Brown died I was living a right smart piece from him. But I heard of his dying .Yet what year it was or the month it was I could not say.

I am not related to the client and I am not interested in the case.

I have testified in the case before and Samuel Mackey swore me to the affidavit.

I never told Mr. Mackey or Mr. Higginbottom those dates for I did not know them and I could not state it that way, when they took my affidavit they were together and were drinking. And if they put those dates down that way I did not know of them doing it. And further I did not know those things anyway, any farther than I have stated to you.

Q: Have you understood the questions asked you and your answers to them correctly recorded in this deposition?

A: Yes Sir.
