Declaration for Original Pension of a Widow - Child or Children under Sixteen years of age surviving.

On this 10th of October A.D. one thousand eight hundred and seventy nine, personally appeared before me, Clerkof the Clinton County Court, a court of record within and
for the County and State aforesaid Sarah Brown, aged 59 years, a residentof Clinton County, Kentucky, who being duly sworn according to law, makes the following declaration in order to obtain the pension provided by acts of Congress granting pensions to
widows, to wit: that she is the widow of Eli Brown who enlisted under the name of Eli Brown at Lebanon, KY on the 9 of Sept. A.D. 1863 as a Private H. Co. 13th Regiment KY. Calvary, Volunteers commanded by
(name of commander of company or vessel; or if any General's staff, state the fact) of war of 1861-5 who died after his discharge of disease contraccted in service on the 24 day of May A.D. 1868 at (state place of death if known)
(Clinton Co. Kentucky) who bore at the time of his death the rank of (Give rank) (Private) in (State the company and regiment organization, if in the Army; or name of Vessel, if in the Navy) Co. H. 13th Regiment, KY Cavalry, Army).
That she was married under the name of Sarah Agee to said Eli Brown on the 9 day of June A.D. 1850 by Aaron Beck, Esquire. At Clinton Co. KY, there being no legal barrier
to such marriage; that she and her husband had previously married, her husband died in 1845, and his former wife died in 1849.
That she has to the present date remained his widoe; that the following are the names and dates of birth of all his legitimate children yet surviving at the father's death, to wit:

That she has not abandoned the support of any one of his children, but that they are married and doing for themselves, that she has not in any manner been engaged in, aided or abetted, the rebellion in the United States, that:
no prior application has been made.
She hereby appoints, with full power of substitution and revocation,
GEORGE E. LEMON, of Washington D.C., her true and lawful Attorney, to prosecute her claim. That her Post Office address is: Seventy Six, Clinton County, Kentucky.
