John Wells (1803-1886) and his wife Malinda Jane Winfrey (1805-1887). Photo taken ca 1880.

John was the son of David Wells and Kitty White. Malinda was the daughter of John Winfrey and Hannah Benedict.

John and Malinda are buried in the Rector Cemetery in Clinton County, near Static NT. This cemetery is on the KY-TN state line, so John is buried in one state, Malinda in the other, but side by side.

John and Malinda Wells are the 3rd ggrandparents of Barbara Brinkley, as Sarah Wells who married Milton Andrews is their daughter.

John and Malinda had several other children, among them Anderson Wells, Asa Wells and Hannah Wells.

Note from Barbara:
In later life, after John C. Andrews' first two wives died, he married Hannah Wells (my grandmother's aunt, but now her step ggrandmother. This also caused John C. to be not only Milton's dad, but his brother-in-law and a cousin to his other son, Frethias! Oh, these twisted KY lines - John C's first wife was his first cousin, that makes the Coopers my grandparents twice!
