Commonwealth Versus Mrs. Mattie Current Redmon}
Idiot
This day
Geo. Batterton, Attorney for the
Commonwealth, filed an information as follows,
to-wit: To: Hon. Robt. L. Stout, Judge of the
Bourbon Circuit Court: I am reliably informed
that Mrs. Mattie Current Redmon is a person
of unsound mind and a Lunatic and therefore
ask that a Jury be impaneled to pass upon the
subject.

Ordered
by the Court, That O. T. Hinton Esq., an
Attorney of this court, be and he is hereby
appointed to defend for and on behalf of the person
under trial.
To
inquire, etc., comes a jury to-wit: B. F.
Skillman, J. T. Jefferson, Everett Hopkins, J. N.
Mason, Russell Parnell, Virgil Barton, Joe Bodkins,
Tillone Vicmont, J. A. Thaxton, J. A. Ralls, Robt.
Hopkins, John Burphy who being duly impaneled
and sworn according to law, after hearing the
evidence, returned the following verdict, viz: We of
the Jury find the evidence that Mrs. Mattie
Current Redmon is a person of unsound mind and a
Lunatic. That the unsoundness of mind has
existed since December 1914; that she
was born in Bourbon County and resides in
Bourbon County, and is 29 years of age;
that she was not brought into this State for
the purpose of becoming a charge upon the
Commonwealth; that she owns no estate of any
kind; that father is dead and mother is
alive and resides in Paris, Kentucky and she
has no estate sufficient to support the
person under trial; and said Mrs. Mattie Current
Redmon is not capable of laboring either in
whole or in part for her support.

Given
Wherefore
it is adjudged by the court that said Mattie
Current Redmon is a person of unsound mind and a
Lunatic. It is ordered the she be
committed to the asylum for the insane at
Lexington, Ky., and that the superintendent of
said asylum be immediately notified and directed to
send for said lunatic.

The
affianst, state, that they are regular practicing
physicians in Paris, Kentucky, that they have
personally examined the above named defendant, Mrs.
Mattie Redmon, and they verily believe her to be a
lunatic and a person of unsound mind; and that on
account of such condition of mind, it would be
unsafe to bring Mrs. Mattie Redmon, into court.

Commonwealth of Kentucky,
To The
Sheriff of Bourbon Co., Kentucky, Greetings;
It
appearing from the information filed in this Court
on the 15th ., day of March, 1915, that
Mrs. Mattie Redmon, a person, residing in Bourbon
County, Ky., is a person of unsound mind and a
lunatic; You are hereby commanded to forthwith serve
a copy of this notice, on Mrs. Mattie Redmon, and
notify her that said information has been filed, and
that a jury will be empanelled in said court, on
March 16th., 1915, at 9 o’clock A. M. to
decide whether or not, she is a lunatic, and warn
her that said that unless she appears at the said
time, she will be proceeded against according to
law.

Martin Snapp, Dr. J. T. Brown to appear before
the Bourbon Circuit Court on the 8th
day of its present term, 16th
day March, 1915, to testify on behalf of
the Comth. Of Ky. In an action in said Court
between Comth. Of Ky. Plaintiff, and Mrs.
Mattie Current Redmon Defendant.
