Nancy Katharine Hosley Mc Mullen was born in Franklin County, Kentucky about 1840 and died in Fayette County at the Eastern Kentucky State Hospital in 24 July 1925 and was buried in the Lexington Cemetery.   I found references to her committal in her husband's Civil War records.

In the Civil War Widow's Pension file is a Declaration of Robert Duncan, age 53 years, a resident of Franklin County, Kentucky stating that "she continued to draw the said pension up and including the 3" day of May 1901.  That she is now and has been since that date "non comus mentis" [sic] and that on the 31 "day of May 1891, she was tried by a jury of Franklin County, Kentucky and found to be of unsound mind or in other words a lunatic and not competent to transact any kind of business and the said Court on that day appointed this claimant her committee to take charge of her and transact her business."
