POPLAR RUN CEMETERY NOTICE
Volunteers GRACIOUSLY spent a great deal of time and labor three Saturdays this October beginning the laborious task of cleaning up of the Poplar Run Cemetery located on Route 32 between Elizaville and Cowan. This cemetery has been abandoned for many years and contains over 300 known graves. Two graves are of Civil War veterans and one is of a Revolutionary War veteran. Let's show our respect and gratitude by helping with the restoration of this cemetery. For photos of this cemetery's 'before' look, click here (it's quite appalling).
If you live out of the area but would still like to contribute, donations
can be made to the Ewing Baptist Church, 1676 Ewing Rd., Ewing, KY
41039. Please notate your donation with Poplar Run Cemetery. For
more information call Billy G. Cowan at 606-267-2274 or Elaine Logan at 606-876-2121.
