Mary Frances Abrams, 87, of Eminence, died Thursday, August 20, 2009, at homestead Nursing Center in New Castle. She was born in Bethlehem and was the daughter of the late Eddie Francis and Lucy Craig Herrell Meek. She was previously employed at the Brunswick Corporation and had worked as a nurse�s aide at the New Castle Sanatorium. She was a member of the American Police CB Patrol and attended the Union Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons: Linden Powell Booth, Madison, IN, Rodney Thomas Booth, Milton and Jerry Elliott Booth, Shelbyville; two daughters: Frances L. Kelley, Eminence and Barbara Hembree, Madison, IN; one step-daughter: Claudette Abrams Kirby, Midland, TX; seven grand children and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Lawrence Elliot Booth and Mendell Abrams; one step-son: Jerry Lynn Abrams; one sister: Syble Roberts; two brothers: Tommy Meek and Kenneth Meek and two grandsons.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 23rd at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Rev. David Woosley, Pastor of Grace Baptist Church, LaGrange, officiated. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Holly Rebecca Jane Adams, 28, of Crestwood, died Sunday, October 11, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Patsy Ann Adams.
She is survived by her father, Teddy Ray Adams; one sister: Aimee Adams; one brother: Brian Adams; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 16th at the Oldham County Funeral Home, LaGrange. Pastor Tommy Purvis officiated. Interment was in the Valley of Rest Cemetery, LaGrange.

George Byron Armstrong, 59, died Saturday, September 12, 2009. He was a former driver for Pegasus Trucking, a licensed barber and a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington. He was the son of the late Hubert and Marion Armstrong.
He is survived by his wife: Teresa Shaw Armstrong; three sons: George Christopher, Lucas and Ryan Armstrong; two stepchildren: Cathy Cress and Steven Summitt; four brothers: Aaron, Glenn, Barry and Freddie Armstrong; two sisters: Maxine Romine and Ramona Harrington; and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Kenny Armstrong, Cherry Stewart and Don Ferrell Armstrong.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 15th at the First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington. Interment was in the Mt. Washington Cemetery. McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Beatrice Moore Arnold, 89, died Tuesday, September 1, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Pete and Mary Adams Moore, a member of the Lockport Baptist Church, a farmer and a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter: Helen (Charles) LeCompte, Frankfort; two sons: Donald Ray Arnold and Owen Carroll Arnold, both of Lockport; three sisters: Catherine Stivers, Lockport, Sylvia Stivers, Defoe and Rosa Lyons, New Castle; ten grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, twelve great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: G. W. Arnold; daughter: Mary Lorena Hawkins; six brothers, one sister and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 4th at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Paul Briscoe, Lockport Baptist Church, and Pastor Lin Powell, Gratz Seventh-Day Adventist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Joseph David �Jody� Ayers, 63, of New Castle, died Thursday, August 27, 2009, at his residence. He worked for the Kentucky Department of Transportation, Department of Highways and was a member of the Union Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother: Roxie Lee Wilder Ayers, Frankfort; two sons: Sterling Scott �Stumpie� Ayers, Eminence and David Jackson Ayers, New Castle; one daughter: Melissa Denine �Missy� Ayers, Eminence; four brothers: Billy Max Ayers, Frankfort, James Douglas Ayers and Delburn Gene �Tommy� Ayers, both of Pleasureville and Edward Dwain Ayers, Shelbyville; two sisters: Nancy Lee Estes and Mary Louise Reese, both of Frankfort; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father: William Holbert �Shorty� Ayers; one son: William Jay �Pete� Ayers and three sisters: Brenda June Yount, Patricia Ann Yeary and Barbara Jean Ayers.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 30th at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Nick Coleman of the Henry Christian Church officiated. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Clayton Savage �Bud� Billings, died Wednesday, October 7, 2009. He was born in Louisville to Henry Christian and Emma Louise Minch Billings. He retired from the Kentucky Department of Highways where he was a bridge construction foreman. He was the oldest living member of the Ballardsville Baptist Church where he served as deacon for many years. He was also a member of the International Poets Society, twice inducted into the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and was a published poet. He was also a former member of the Oldham County Agricultural Committee.
He is survived by five children: Clayton E (Mavis) Billings, Smithfield, Barbara A. Farley-Williams, Longwood, FL, John A. (Dorothy) Billings, Greensburg, IN, Rosalie A. Ashey, LaGrange and Nancy B. (Ashley) Chilton, Pleasureville; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers: John, Frederick, Robert and Harry Billings, Sr.; three sisters: Louise Miller, Arthia Higbee and Emily Evans.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 10th at heady Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange. Interment was in the Valley of Rest Cemetery, LaGrange. Rev. Tommy Purvis and Rev. Tony Wolfenbarger, Jr. officiated.

She is survived by her husband: Raymond Byrd, Pleasureville; one son: Bobby Byrd (Liz), Frankfort; parents: Bobby and Ruby Beckner Goodwin, Amherst, OH; one brother: Johnny Goodwin, Amherst, OH; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Local services were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 24th at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Leon Robinson officiated.
An evening service was held at *:00 p.m. Friday, September 25th, at Four Oaks Funeral Home in Huntsville, TN. Bro. Jeff Watson and Bro. J. R. Massengale officiated. Interment was in the Mill Branch Cemetery, Huntsville, TN.

Ovie �Junior� Callis, 82, of Pendleton, died Thursday, August 27, 2009, at his residence. He was the son of the late Ovie Callis, Sr. and Jennie Hundley Callis, a WWII Navy veteran, a heavy equipment operator and a member of Local 181 Union of Operating Engineers.
He is survived by his wife: Marie Callis; one son: Buster Callis and wife Sherry, Trimble County; one step-daughter: Christine Durham, Mt. Washington; one sister: Doris Spillman, Pendleton; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Carl, Jack and Ballard Callis and Lillie Mae and Margaret.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 1st at Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford. Rev. Oliver Smith and Rev. Nick Coleman officiated. Interment was in the Sligo Cemetery.

LaVaughn K. �LK� Clark, 86, of Campbellsburg, died Wednesday, August 26, 2009 in Carrollton,. He was the son of the late Arthur and Minnie Lee Demaree Clark, a WWII Army veteran, and a member of the Providence Baptist Church.
He is survived by two nieces and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Ina Garriott.
Graveside services were held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 29th at the Campbellsburg Masonic Cemetery. Ransdell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Thelma Chilton Moody Clark, 97, of New Castle, died Thursday, September 3, 2009. She was a member of the Henry County Historical Society, Henry County Retired Teachers and Henry County Literary Club and a member of the New Castle First Baptist Church.
She is survived by one sister: Sue Barnett, New Castle; one grandson: Marty LeBus and wife, Susan, Shelbyville; one great-granddaughter: Mary Calaway LeBus and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband: Callaway �Buck� Moody and her second husband: Bill Clark; one daughter: Margaret LeBus; two brothers: James Chilton and Robert Chilton and one sister: Joyce Pryor.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 6th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Dr. David Charlton, Pastor of the New Castle First Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Pauline Jones Clements, 78, of Shelbyville, died Friday, August 21, 2009, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Clarence and Eunice Mae Burks Jones, a retired secretary from the Kentucky Transportation and Natural Resources Cabinets and a member of the Bagdad Baptist Church. She was a member of the Kentucky Colonels and served as volunteer for Jewish Hospital, Shelbyville, the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross.
She is survived by three sons: Gary and Brian Clements, both of Louisville and Dean Clements, Shelbyville; two daughters: Judy Smith, Danville and Paula P.J. Whiddon, Shelbyville; and two sisters: Joyce Johnston, Bagdad and Ann McAllister, Owenton. She was preceded in death by her husband: Carroll Clements and one daughter: Lena Gail Booth.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 24th at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Rev. Kyle Wiley officiated. Interment was in the Bagdad Cemetery.

Roy Combs, 63, of Port Royal, died Monday, September 14, 2009, at Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was the son of the late Ernest and Mollie Wooton Combs and an engineer working in metal fabrication.
He is survived by two daughters: Stacy Jacobs, Crestwood and Katie Day, Louisville; four brothers: James Combs, Pendleton, Don Combs, Shelbyville, Lonnie Combs, Madison, IN and Ira Combs, Defoe; one sister: Jean Mertz, Crestwood; two grandsons and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Lyons and Aline Frazier.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, September 16th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Bro. Morris Lyons of Finchville officiated. Interment was in the Sligo Cemetery.

Danny Dale Cook, 60, of Eminence, died Sunday, September 13, 2009, at Jewish hospital, Shelbyville. He was the son of the late George Franklin and Ethel Vestine Eden Cook and was a self-employed carpenter.
He is survived by his stepson: Eddie Moffett, Frankfort; two stepdaughters: Angel Moore, Port Royal and Candy Mott, Cropper; one brother: Joseph Cook, Frankfort; five sisters: Elizabeth Ratchford, Eminence, Flossie Burge and Jean Hardin, both of Frankfort, Dorothy Hibbard, Crestwood and Sherry harp, Smithfield. He was preceded in death by four brothers: George Thomas, Clyde, John and Donald Cook; and one sister: Anna Frances Yount.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 16th at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Chuck Umholtz, Pastor of the Beechridge Baptist Church in Bagdad, officiated. Interment was in the Cropper Cemetery.

Donald Junior Cox, 57, of Pleasureville, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at his residence. He was the son of the late Walter Louis and Mossie Dell Cain Cox, previously worked at F. B. Purnell Sausage Company and was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church in Louisville.
He is survived by two sons: Delbert Lee Cox, Bowling Green and Mark Anthony Cox, Scottsville; two brothers: Ronnie Cox, Pleasureville and Glen Lewis Caulk, Louisville; three sisters: Myrtle Walker, Eminence, Linda Powers and Edna Ayres, both of Defoe; two grandchildren: and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Gene Cox and Lewis Thomas Cox and four sisters: Carol Rose Hardin, Louise Maddox, Lois Pike and Leara Audre Cox.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15th, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Jerry Anderson, Pastor of the Pleasureville Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Defoe Cemetery.

Ronald Crawford, 57, of Turners Station, died Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at his residence after a long illness. He was the son of the late George Crawford and a truck driver. He was a Christian.
He is survived by his wife: Carolyn R. Crawford, Turners Station; his son: Ronnie Crawford, Jr. and wife, Sherri, Turners Station; his mother: Callie �Bea� Nalley Crawford; two brothers: Phillip, Sr. and George Crawford, both of Turners Station; two sisters: Margaret Brady and Lynn Burgin, both of Turners Station and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister: Theresa Wilson.
Cremation was chosen. A memorial celebration was held at 2:00 p.m. at his residence in Turners Station on Saturday, September 5th. Ransdell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Crowe, both of Jeffersonville, IN, Jody Lynn Moore, Phillip Noel Crowe and Lori Elizabeth Crowe, all of Louisville, Michael C. Crowe, Christopher Allen Crowe, Gabriel Harris Crowe and Matthew Owen Crowe, all of Campbellsburg, Patrick Ivan Crowe, Shelbyville, and Jacob E. Crowe, Turners Station; his grandmother: Etta Ree Golden, New Castle; and one uncle. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 8th at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg. Rev. Shawn Golden officiated. Interment was in a private cemetery on the family farm.

She is survived by her husband: Harry Curtsinger, Taylorsville; three sons: Justin Curtsinger, Jessie Curtsinger and Steven Curtsinger, all of Taylorsville; one daughter: Stefanie Curtsinger, Eminence; her mother: Sue Ann Greer Montgomery; one brother: Wesley Montgomery, Louisville; two sisters: Carol Walston, Brooks and Donna Hall, Fairfield.

Ruby Frazier Davis, 88, died Friday, October 9, 2009, at NHC Healthcare. She was born in Monroe County, the daughter of the late Leo and Minnie Waller Frazier. She was a homemaker and a retired employee of Sorension Industries of Glasgow and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Monroe County.
She is survived by two daughters: Martha Jean Thomas (Billy), Glasgow and Shelia M. Atchison, New Castle; two sisters: Delzia Wiley, Nobob and Mattie Smith, Glasgow; one brother: Huey Frazier, Sulphur Lick; two grandchildren: Justin Atchison and Kyle Atchison and wife, Amanda, New Castle; one step-grandchild; two step- great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Roy L. Davis; one daughter, Nancy Carolyn Davis; one son, Roy Michael Davis; one brother, Clifford Frazier; two sisters, Agnes Chandler and Ruth Garmon.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 13th at the A. F. Crow and Son Funeral Home. Interment was in the Poplar Log Cemetery.

Mary Chisholm Dawson, 74, of Frankfort, died Monday, September 14, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital, Hospice Care Center in Lexington. A native of Pleasureville, she retired from South Central Bell after 29 years of service. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers and the Forks of the Elkhorn Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late David and Nora Chisholm.
She is survived by her husband: Howard Ray Dawson, Frankfort; two sons: Steve Dawson and wife, Julie, and Randy Dawson all of Frankfort; one sister: Betty Grubbs, Alamo, TX; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother: James Chisholm and three sisters: Jessie Orhood, Naomi Ethington and Rosa Hughes.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 17th at the Forks of elkhorn Baptist Church. Rev. Todd Lester officiated. Interment was in the Sunset memorial Gardens.

Norbert Maurice Durbin, Sr., 61, of LaGrange, died Sunday, October 18, 2009, in LaGrange. He served in the U. S. Army for 24 years and was the son of the late Charles G. and Marie Grimes Durbin. He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Durbin.
He is survived by his wife: Ramona Adams Durbin, LaGrange; two sons: Robbie J. Durbin and wife, Patricia, and Norbert Maurice Durbin, Jr., all of LaGrange;one step-son: Dennis Byrd, Louisville; one sister: Betty Cayton, Louisville; one brother: James Larry Durbin, Elizabethtown and six grandchildren.

She is survived by two nieces: Dorcas Greenwood Gilley, Bedford and Cinda Greenwood Wood, Milton; Caregiver: Virginia Greenwood, Campbellsburg; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Elmo �Mose� Garrett; one daughter: Carole Barkley Garrett; one sister: Helen Hudson Greenwood; two brothers: Garnett Yager Greenwood and John Samuel Greenwood.

Mary Alice Hall, 96, of Shelbyville, died Friday, October 16, 2009. Daughter of the late William T. and Rebecca Alice Gordon Claxon, she was a native of Henry County and retired from Cook�s Pharmacy and Pleasureville Pharmacy. She was a member of the Eminence United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons: Dwayne Hall, Corbin and James A. Hall and wife, Joyce K., Shelbyville; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Albert Hall; two sisters; three brothers and one great-grandson.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 19th. Rev. Garry Polston, Pastor of the Eminence United Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.
Thelma Harmon, 86, of Milton, died Friday, September 25, 2009, at Signature Healthcare in Bedford. She was the daughter of the late Brian and Mable Rowlett Moore, worked at the Rowlett Grocery Store in Milton for several years and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Corn Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband: Ralph Harmon, Milton; one son: Doug Harmon, Milton; one sister: Elizabeth Joyce, Milton; one brother: Morris Moore, Milton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter: Carol Jean Harmon; one sister: Dorothy Rutherford and two brothers: Nelson and Charles Moore.
Funeral services were held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 27th at the Corn Creek Baptist Church. Brother Ben bailey officiated. Interment was in the Moffett Cemetery, Milton.

Sue Carol Floyd Harp, 62, of Campbellsburg, died Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville. She was born in Ohio and was the daughter of the late Roy E. and Suzanne Mihalcho Floyd. She was a farmer, homemaker and attended the Lockport Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband: Jimmy Harp, Campbellsburg; one son: James R. Harp, Jr., Campbellsburg; one daughter: Wanona Lynn Hudson, Campbellsburg; one brother: Robert Floyd, Lockport; one sister: Marcie D. Combs, South Carolina; one granddaughter; one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by five daughters: Brenda Simmons (Art), Kathy Aldridge, Joyce Brewer (John) and Lisa Andrew (Tom) all of Bedford and Linda Rucker (Tony Adkins, Campbellsburg; one son: Curt Jackson (Debbie), Bedford; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son: Denny Sidney Jackson.
Funeral services were held at Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford, Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Brother David Coy officiating. Burial was in the Bedford IOOF Cemetery.

Jimmy D. Hoagland, 85, of Smithfield, died Monday, July 6, 2009, at Baptist Hospital Northeast. Son of the late Roy and Angie Garriott Hoagland, Jimmy was a WWII Army Veteran serving in five major battles and decorated with the Bronze Star. He was an employee of GE and a manager at Lake Jericho.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Colleen Bruce; two sisters: Jane Perkinson and Emma Cunningham; three brothers: John Hoagland, Roy Hoagland, Jr. and Jerry Hoagland.

Jimmy Holcomb, 71, of New Castle, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at Baptist Hospital Northeast in LaGrange. Son of the late Estil C., Sr. and Ada Belle Ethington Holcomb, he was a farmer.
He is survived by his wife: Barbara Holcomb, New Castle; three sons: Ricky Holcomb, Eminence, Billy Holcomb, Ft. Martha Elizabeth Horine, 73, of Bedford, died Sunday, August 23, 2009, at University Hospital, Louisville. She was the daughter of the late Charles Meredith Smith and Virginia Belle Garrett Smith and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Apostolic Church of the Living God.
She is survived by her children: Judy Horine and Debbie Horine, both of Carrollton; Bobby Gene Horine, Pendleton, Danny Horine, Henry County, Rhonda Temple, Bedford; two brothers: Solie and Charles, �Jr.� Smith and three sisters: Mary Aldridge, Mattie Riffe and Mary Jane Sibley, all of Bedford; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Horine and one daughter, Becky Horine.

Roy C. Hutcherson, 70, of Pleasureville, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was born in Franklin County, the son of the late Raymond and Madeline Hutcherson. He worked for the Kentucky Finance and administration Cabinet, served in the Kentucky National Guard and was a farmer.
He is survived by four sons: Greg Hutcherson and wife, Beverly, Mike Hutcherson and wife, Sherry, Jeff Aldridge and wife, Crystal, and Greg Aldridge, all of Pleasureville; two daughters: Marcia Collins and husband, Terry, Frankfort and Linda Gregory, Bethlehem; two brothers: Joe Pat Hutcherson, Frankfort and Bill Hutcherson, Franklin County; one sister: Ramona Pulliam, Frankfort; companion: Betty Aldridge, Pleasureville; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Chisholm Hutcherson and four brothers.

Charlotte �Irene� Ingram, 56, of LaGrange, died Friday, March 13, 2009, in Louisville. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, assistant to the cheerleaders at the Henry County High School and active with the American Cancer Society.
She is survived by her husband: Don Ingram, LaGrange; two daughters: Dana lee Lewis, Harrodsburg, and Chaye Sloan, Shelbyville; one son: Donald Ray Ingram, Jr., Jeffersonville, IN; three sisters: Mary Durham, Harrodsburg, Judy Everage, Rineyville and Connie Johnson, Hudson; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Little Eva Jackson, aged 3 years, one month and seven days, died about 6:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, July 31, 1912 at the home of her father, R. D. Jackson in New Castle. She was the twin sister of Edith Jackson, who died September 7, 1911, at the age of 2years, 2months and fourteen days. The mother, Mrs. Pearl Winburn Jackson, passed away July 3, 1912, making three deaths in this family within less than one year. There are3 left the trebly bereaved father and two little girls, Lillian Pauline, aged six years, and Mary Etta, four and one-half years old. The little one had been extremely ill for several weeks, often at the point of death, and trained nurses had been in attendance and physicians, relatives and the devoted father did everything possible for her relief, but in vain. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church, Thursday afternoon at 3:00 o�clock, by Rev. C. J. Nugent, and the interment took place in the New Castle Cemetery.

Jimmie D. James, 68, of Smithfield, formerly of Louisville, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Baptist Hospital East. He was a retired truck driver for Banner Transfer, a member of Teamsters Local 89 and a Kentucky Colonel.
He is survived by his wife: Linda Kirchner James; two sons: Andy and Randall James; one daughter: Makayla James; three sisters: Pearl Chambers, Cissy Lesley and Betty Carlton; and seven brothers: Carlos, George, Earl, David, Donnie, Larry and Richard James.

Kimberly Dawn Jude, 44, of Harrodsburg, died at her residence Tuesday, October 6, 2009, following a long bout with rheumatoid arthritis. She was a member of Williamson High School class of 1983 and went on to attend Commonwealth College in Virginia. She worked as a store supervisor for McCrory Stores. She was a member of the Salvisa Ruritan Club.
She is survived by her husband: Tony L. Dr. John W. Juett, Eminence dentist for 45 years, died at the home of his son, Dr. Brooks Juett, Lexington, Sunday morning at 4:00 o�clock. He had been ill for several months and his death followed that of his wife, Prudie Gordon Juett, about two months.
Dr. Juett was born in Owen County and came to Eminence 45 years ago. He was superintendent of the Eminence Baptist Sunday School for 40 years; he served as Moderator of the Baptist Association and of his church; was past president and a member of the Board of Examiners of the Kentucky State Dental Association; served as Past Grand Master and Past High Priest of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky Masons; was a member of the Executive Council of Education of the Masonic Lodge at the time of his death; he served as secretary of the Y. M. C. A. at Bordeau, France during the Word War. He was secretary of the Henry County Rotary Club for a third term which would have expired July 1st.
Funeral services were conducted at the Eminence Baptist Church on Monday afternoon at 2:00 o�clock, conducted by Rev. John G. Dickson and assisted by Rev. Thomas and Rev. Simpson and the Masonic Lodge. Burial was in the Eminence Cemetery.
Besides his son he is survived by four sisters: Mrs. E. C. Roemele, Frankfort, Mrs. W. C. Shipp, Madisonville, Mrs. R. L. Cassity, Louisville and Mrs. Susie Bridges, Paris and two brothers: Ed Juett and R. C. Juett, of Dayton, Ohio.

Mattie Johnston Kephart, of Pleasureville, head of the Woman�s Division of the Republican Party in Henry County, died at her home at Pleasureville Thursday afternoon at 5:30 o�clock after an attack of acute indigestion early Wednesday morning.
She was the daughter of the late Capt. I. N. Johnston and Mrs. Annie Nash Johnston and is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Nasbye Mershon, Pleasureville, and Mrs. Henry Curtwright; four sisters: Mrs. Sammie Riner, Pleasureville, Mrs. Norah Sibley, Sulphur, Mrs. B. G. Pearce, New Castle and Mrs. J. S. Price, Nicholasville and one brother: J. E. Johnston, Pleasureville.
Mrs. Kephart united with the Pleasureville Methodist Church in her childhood and was intensely interested in church work. After returning from school at Science Hill she sought the assistance of Mrs. W. T. Poynter and organized the first Woman�s Missionary Society of that church. She was a charter member of the W. C. T. U. of her town and also a member of the D.A.R.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday afternoon by a former pastor, Rev. P. T. Smith, of LaGrange, assisted by Rev. J. E. Wright, Campbellsburg. Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Relatives at Sulphur have recently been notified of the death of Mrs. Mattie Morris Kimbrough at Bay Minett, AL. She was the daughter of the late William G. Morris and Jennie Shouse Morris, Louisville. She is survived by her husband: Rev. I. N. Kimbrough, three children, her mother, six sisters and two brothers.
Mrs. Kimbrough spent her girlhood in Sulphur, having taught several years in Fairmount College before her parents moved to Louisville.

Harry Landers departed this life on December 29, 1916. He was fifty three years, three months and twenty-three days old. He leaves a wife and two children to mourn him, also one son and one daughter, both married. He was a devoted husband and loving father. The funeral was preached in the Methodist Church at Port Royal by Rev. E. C. Hardin and his remains were interred in the cemetery at this place.

She was a member of the Walton United Methodist Church, former president of Oak Hills Junior Women�s Club of Cincinnati and president of New Friends in Northern Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Lenore Hackel.

Mildred Varble Logan, 92, of Shelbyville, formerly of Pendleton, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Crestview Center, Shelbyville. She was the daughter of the late Andrew Clifton and Ella Mae Varble. She was a member of the Sulphur United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the Women�s Society of Christian Service and a member of the past Bykota Women�s Club. She retired from the Department of Social Insurance in 1993.
She is survived by her caregiver: Betty J. Robison, Eminence and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: William �Bill� Logan; three sisters, three brothers and one nephew. Her sister, Clara Cavinall, Crestview, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009.

Francis Lyons, 72, of Gratz, died Monday, September 9th, at the Owen County memorial Hospital in Owenton.
He was born on January 16, 1924, in Henry County, the son of Willie Preston and Ida Bruce Lyons. He was a minister of the Church of Christ and a member of the Cemetery Hill Church of Christ. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII.
Surviving are his wife: Shirley Mahoney Lyons, Gratz; seven sons: Francis Lyons, Jr. and Steve Lyons, both of Louisville, Randy Lyons, New Castle, Harry gene Lyons, Eminence, Tommy Lyons, Bethlehem, Danny Ray Lyons, Lancaster and Doug Lyons, Gratz; one daughter: Glenda Louis Lyons, Pleasureville; two sisters: Cleo Roberts, Lexington and Mary Jo Martin, Louisville; sixteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. John L. Lyons was born December 21, 1853 and died August 26, 1914. In the death of Mr. Lyons, Henry County lost one of her honored citizens. Mrs. Lyons had been ill all summer and had suffered greatly, having cancer of the stomach. All that could be done was done to make his last hours easy. He bore his suffering with great patience and cheerfulness and met death bravely. �I�m going home,� he said, a few hours before his died, and so he was with his family and friends around him when he feel asleep to awake in the better land. He leaves a wife, who was formerly Miss Roberts; three daughters: Misses Fannie and Rhetta, and Mrs. Tina Ellis; eight sons: L. T., Hickman, Edward, L. D., William, J. T., Hobart and Morris Lyons; two sisters: Mrs. J. N. Roberts, Eminence, and Mrs. William Roberts; three brothers: Joe, James and William Lyons and a host of friends to mourn his loss. Near Lockport, on March 30, 1917, the death angel visited the home of Edmond Lyons and took from him his darling wife, her age being 29 years. She had been in ill health for a number of years, so death came as a sweet relief. She was a consistent member of the Baptist Church.
