Bessie Adams
Bessie Peyton Adams, 90, of Pleasureville, formerly of Frankfort, died Thursday, July 10, 2003 at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville. She was the daughter of the late Ben and Elizabeth Purvis Peyton, a native of Henry County, a retired waitress at the Frankfort Country Club, and a member of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her brother: Ernest (Skinny) Peyton, Bethlehem; two granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hudson Adams, a daughter, Aloha Harleen Morrison and a son Donald Brentwood Adams. Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 13th at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Hayward Yeary, Pastor of the Union Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Pt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Mary Cathalene Adams, 70, of Worthville, died Sunday, June 3, 2001 at Tri-County Hospital, LaGrange after an illness of several months. She was a native of Franklin, the daughter of the late William Brown, a homemaker and a KY Colonel and a member of the Church of Christ, Dry Ridge. She is survived by her husband: Donald Ray Adams, Sanders; one daughter: Nora Elaine Downey, Port Royal; two sons: Robert �Bobby� Jones, Jr., Pleasureville and Donald Ray Jones, Carrollton; her mother: Rosa Lee Young Brown, Sanders; five sisters: Sue Gail Braden, LaGrange, Rose Margaret Beach and Alma Joyce Snow, both of Sanders; Virginia Frances McElfresh, Indianapolis, IN, and Linda Charlene Hemingway, Madison, IN; one brother: Charles Chandler Brown, Pleasureville; two half-sisters: Dale (Julian) Brewer, Defoe and Hazel Woods, Pleasureville; two half-brothers: Michael Brown, Eminence and Tony Brown, New Castle; five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 6th at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home. Rev. Bob Phalen officiated. Burial was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

Raymond Adams, 85, of Shelbyville, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003. He was the son of the late Leroy Adams and Lori Shelton Adams, an oil truck driver for Long Buick and a member of the Shelbyville First Baptist Church. He is survived by one son: Scott Adams, Campbellsburg; one sister: Mayme Blankenship, Versailles and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Roberts Snavely Adams. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14th at Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.

Donald R. Adcock, 65, of Eminence, died Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at the Hospice and Palliative Care of Louisville, Inpatient Unit. He was a native of Louisville, the son of the late Roy William, Sr. and Mary Frances Thurman Adcock, a retired mechanic and a member of the Eminence Christian Church. He is survived by his wife: Rebecca �Polly� Harlow Adcock, Smithfield; three daughters: Diana Lynn Casey, Sandra Dee Prestigacamo and Lisa Kim Adcock, all of Louisville; four step-daughters: Ramona (Norbert) Durbin, LaGrange, Barbara (John) Renn, Salem, IN, Rebecca (Boyd) Noel, Crestwood and LaVinia (Bryan) Norris, Bedford; twenty-eight grandchildren; and twenty-one great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 20th at Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home. Rev. Sharon Fields, Pastor of the Eminence Christian Church, officiated. Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Rose Ann Erwin Henderson Adcock, 71, of Pleasureville, died Thursday, July 17, 2003 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Forrest and Ruby Baugh Erwin, a telephone operator for South Central Bell, owner and operator of the 421 Mart, a member of the Love, Faith and Hope study group and a member of the Henry Christian Church. She is survived by her husband: G. W. (Bill) Adcock, Pleasureville; three daughters: Sue Carolyn �Susie� Henderson, Port Royal, Jeannie Waits, Smithfield and Debra Ann Mahoney, Pleasureville; two step-daughters: Cindy Couch and Carolyn Adcock, both of Eminence; one step-son: John Adcock, Eminence; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Henderson. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 20th , at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Ed Berry officiated, assisted by Rev. Nick Coleman. Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Carl G. Aldridge, 84, of Bethlehem, died Thursday, March 15, 2001 at Tri-County Hospital, LaGrange. He was the son of the late Clarence and Mattie Dyke Aldridge and a retired carpenter. He is survived by two daughters: Brenda (Timothy) Tabor, Monterey and Barbara Tingle, Franklinton; two sons: Carroll Aldridge, Bethlehem and Tim G. Aldridge, Pleasureville; one sister: Bernice Aldridge, Shelbyville; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17th at Wallace Cemetery, Lockport. Rev. Terrye Williams, Pastor of the Eminence Christian Church, officiated. Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Robert Dean Aldridge, 46, of Lockport, died Saturday, March 24, 2001 at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville. He was the son of the late Forest T. Aldridge, previously employed as a high lift operator at Ohio Valley Aluminum Co. and a member of the United Baptist Church, Gratz. He is survived by his mother: Hester Moore Aldridge, Lockport; one daughter: Robin Tracy, Frankfort; two brothers: Roy T. Aldridge, Pleasureville and Glen I. Aldridge, Bethlehem; two sisters: Betty (Gayle) Moore, Eminence and Brenda (Clyde) Webster, Lockport; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one grandson. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, march 26th at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Donnie Brisoce, Pastor of the United Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in the Wallace Cemetery.

She was a native of Oldham County, the daughter of the late Joseph Howard and Juanita Ogden Powell and a homemaker. She is survived by her husband: Louis Anderson, Smithfield; one son: Daniel (Eddie) Anderson, Houston, TX; one daughter: Lesley Anderson, Smithfield; one brother: Jody Powell, Smithfield; three sisters: JoAnn (Darrell) McAlister, Pleasureville; Mary Lou (Bobby) Roberts, New Castle and Kathy (Shawn) Bright, Pleasureville; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 31st, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Garry Polston, Pastor of the New Castle United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in the Sulphur Cemetery.

He was a native of Greenup County, the son of the late James Franklin and Eliza Howard Auxier, a production worker for 25 years at GE and a member of the Union Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife: Etta Mae Heightchew Auxier, Shelbyville; two sons: James Edward Auxier, Merritt Island, FL and Tony Auxier, Shelbyville; one daughter: Angela Auxier Kent, Pleasureville; two brothers: Amos Auxier, Salyersville and Hubert Auxier, Northville, MI; two sisters: Marion Kinnard, Venus, FL and Renie Bradley, Southgate, MI; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 22nd at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Bill Brumley, Hospice Chaplain, officiated, assisted by Rev. Mike Huff. Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband: Paul Bachmann; parents: Marie Staniford and Raymond Bryant; one brother: Dennis Bryant; grandmother: Irene Bryan and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 7th at the Arch L. Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange. Father Mark Spalding officiated. Burial was in the Louisville Memorial Gardens East.

She was the daughter of the late Lewis Thomas and Virginia Shingleton Payne, a retired state employee and a member of the Pleasureville United Methodist Church. She is survived by one granddaughter: Chastity Clark, Defoe; one grandson: Chuckie Clark, Defoe; and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Banta and one daughter, Brenda Darlene Clark. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 11th at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Jesse Baxter, Chaplain of the Masonic Home, officiated. Burial was in the Defoe Cemetery.

Louise Davis Barnett, 87, of Pleasureville, died Monday, February 2, 2004 at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville. She was a native of Jefferson County, the daughter of the late Charles Christopher and Willie Roberta Neel Davis, a homemaker, attended the Eminence Baptist Church and was a member of the Elmburg Baptist Church. She is survived by four sons: Richard and Charles Barnett, both of Elmburg, Ralph Barnett, Shelbyville and Sterling Barnett, Louisville; two daughters: Martha Perry, Mt. Eden and Berttye Hardin, Lawrenceburg; one brother: James Richard Davis, Colorado; sixteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Stanley Barnett and one sister. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 6th at Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Rev. Tom Conway officiated. Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.

He is survived by one daughter: Patricia Tracy, Shelbyville; one son: Donald R. Baxter, Louisville; four grandsons and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 31st at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. David Terry, Pastor of the Sulphur United Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Sulphur Cemetery.

Allen, Winchester; one sister: Sarah Collins Five; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 26th, at Audubon Baptist Church. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery. Evergreen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years: Robert �Dinker� Brierly; two daughters: Jennifer (John) Allgeier, Smithfield and Michelle (Scott) Newland, Turners Station; four grandchildren: Crystal (Kevin) Metz, Louisville, Christopher Newland, Dustin Clark and Michael Newland, all of Turners Station; two great-grandchildren: Alex Metz, Louisville and Zeke Metz, Cleveland, OH. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15th at the Eminence Baptist Church.
