Francis Gaddie
Francis “Frannie” Gaddie, 31, of Eminence, died Monday, October 28, 2002 at Jewish Hospital, Shelbyville. She is survived by her parents: Pat and Buck Gaddie, Eminence; one sister: Paula Michelle Gaddie, Bedford; one brother: Matthew Neilson Gaddie, Eminence; and her grandmother: Agnes M. Aldridge, Crestwood. A memorial service was held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Novermber 2nd, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Duncan, Pastor of the Eminence Baptist Church, officiated.

Carlos Robles Garcia, 5 2, of Eminence, died Friday, December 7, 2012. He was born in Sonora, Mexico, and was a self-employed construction worker. He was a member of the Catholic Church of the Annunciation in Shelbyville. He is survived by his wife: Norma Angelica Robles, Eminence; his mother: Guadalupe Garcia, Eminence; three sons: Carlos Ernesto Robles Avila, Pleasureville, Alexis Robles Avila and Juan Manuel Robles Avila, both of Eminence; one daughter: Daisy Robles Avila, Eminence; two brothers: Misael Robles Garcia, Rosarito, Mexico and Hector Manuel Robles Garcia, San Diego, CA, two sisters: Maria Robles Garcia, Sinaloa, Mexico and Cristina Perez Robles, Eminence; four grandchildren: Charles Robles, Isabella Robles, Valerie Ortega and Amelie Robles; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernesto Robles Zuniga. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 11th at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation in Shelbyville with Father Mike Tobin officiating. Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Robert A. Gault, 77, of Eminence, died Friday, October 4, 2002, at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville after a long illness. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, and the founder and owner of Eminence Speaker Corporation for thirty-six years. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 10th at the Eminence Christian Church. Rev. Elizabeth Kirkpatrick-Brucken and Rev. Michael Duncan will officiate. Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Juanita Giles, 42, of Eminence, wife of A. W. Giles, died at 1:04 a.m. Saturday at kings Daughters Hospital in Shelbyville. She had been in ill health for some time. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Marshall Thomas Giles and a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Rucker, both of Eminence; her mother, Mrs. Ethel Clubb, Bethlehem; two brothers, Marshall B. and Connie Clubb, both of Shelbyville; and two sisters, Mrs. Naomi Smith, Louisville and Mrs. W. T. Maddox, Bethlehem. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Eminence Presbyterian Church. Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Rachel Dixon Gilley, 71, of Smithfield, died Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at the Homestead Nursing Center, New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Noah Lee and Mary Belle Jennings Dixon and a member of the Pleasureville Baptist Church. She is survived by five daughters: Rita Noel Brierly, Smithfield, Shirley (Gerald) Board, Eddyville, Sherill (Thomas) Dunning, Princeton, Eva Gilley, Pikeville, and Linda ( Jeffrey) Sloan, Bagdad; three sisters: Elizabeth Spurr, Indianapolis, IN, Ruth Mahoney and Hallie Summitt, both of Shelbyville; one brother: Joe Dixon, New Castle; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Eugene Roberts. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28th at Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Duncan, Pastor of the Eminence Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.

Linda Raisor Gilbreath, 54, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, May 12, 1998 at her home. She was a native of Henry County, the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Ollie Adler Raisor, a secretary at Highland Baptist Church and a member of the Highland Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband: Allen Gilbreath, Shelbyville; one daughter: Traci Seaman, Shelbyville; one son: Rick A. Gilbreath, Shelbyville; four brothers: Vernon Raisor, Jamestown, OH, Albert Raisor, New Castle, Billy Raisor, Pleasureville and Prentice Raisor, Shelbyville; two sisters: Willanna Finney, Lockport and Betty Brewer, Pleasureville, and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 14th at Highland Baptist Church. Rev. Bill George, Pastor of Highland Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville. Shannon Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Cora Mae Barnett Givens, 76, of LaGrange, died Friday, March 23, 2001 at Tri-County Baptist Hospital, LaGrange. She was a native of Washington County, the daughter of the late Christopher C. and Emma Jane Skimmerhorn Barnett and an assembly line worker at Roll Forming. She is survived by one brother: Robert Barnett, Eminence and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 26th at Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Rev. Carter Barnett officiated. Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Goins, 62, of New Castle, died Sunday, February 27, 2005 at the VA Medical Center, Louisville. She was born April 16, 1942 and was a native of Youngstown, OH. She was a U. Navy Veteran. She was preceded in death by her husband: Douglas; daughter and son-in-law: Beth and Matt Cain and granddaughter: Samantha Cain, New Castle; and one sister: Patricia Toth, Youngstown, OH. Funeral services were held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Middletown on March 3rd.

Pauline Burns Hawkins, 72, of Port Royal, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville. She was a native of Carroll County, the daughter of the late William and Grace Hopkins Burns, a caretaker and a member of the Port Royal Baptist Church. She is survived by four sons: Mike Hawkins, Louisville, Steve Hawkins and Donald Hawkins, both of Port Royal, and Dale Hawkins, Dupont, IN; three brothers: Kenneth Burns, English, Robert Burns, Floyd Knobs, IN and David Burns, Scottsburg, IN; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry B. Hawkins and one son, William A. Hawkins. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 25th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Carl Rucker, Pastor of the Port Royal Baptist Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Ed Life, Pastor of the Smithfield Baptist Church. Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

Susie Tindall Haydon, 83, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at the Masonic Home in Shelbyville. She was the daughter of the late William Chester and Lou Thomas Edington Tindall, a retired school cafeteria worker and a member of the Clay Village Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband: Marshall Haydon, Shelbyville; six sons: Ronnie Haydon, Gil Haydon, Gary Haydon and Terry Haydon, all of Shelbyville, David Haydon, Taylorsville and Danny Haydon, Waddy; one daughter: Cheryl (Reed) Moore, Campbellsburg; one brother: C. W. Tindall, Bagdad; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10th at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Rev. Tim Duke, Rev. Jesse Baxter and Rev. Tom Conway officiated. Burial was in the Bagdad Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emilio Hernandez and her father, Monroe Hoskins. She is survived by one son: Jeffrey (Donna) Harris, LaGrange; two daughters: Carla Perez Harris and her husband, Francisco Perez, Eminence, and Stacey Harris Rader and her husband, Melvin, Defoe; her mother: Henriette (Hayden) Henry, Shelbyville; three sisters: Mary Harris Durrett, Louisville, Geraldean Pearce Padilla and her husband, Hector, Shelbyville, and Terry Howard and husband, Frank, Louisville; one brother: John Harris and his wife, Corrine, Louisville; and thirteen grandchildren. Memorial services were held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 7th at Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Fields officiated.

She was a native of Winchester, the daughter of the late Enoch and Maude Baber Welch, a homemaker and a member of the LaGrange Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She is survived by three daughters: Sharon Graves, Smithfield, Janet McAlister, Eminence and Michele Allen, Louisville; one sister: Mildred Hiles, Covington; three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emart B. Hicks and one son, John Hicks. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 14th at Arch L. Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange. Bro. Jerry Roller officiated. Burial was in the Valley of Rest Cemetery, LaGrange.

John R. Jeffries, 86, of Sulphur, died Saturday, November 16, 2002 at Baptist Hospital Northeast, LaGrange. He was a native of Henry County, the son of the late Newton and Nannie Lee Pruitt Jeffries, a farmer and excavator for over 25 years, and a member of the Sulphur Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife: Nadine Congleton Jeffries, Sulphur; one daughter: Donna Lee (Billy Mac) Gaunce, Pittsburg, PA; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Monday, November 18th at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg. Rev. Oliver Smith officiated. Interment was in the Smithfield Cemetery.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4th at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Dr. Stephen Pattison, Pastor of the Capital City Christian Church, officiated. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

She is survived by a niece, Jean Shirley, New Castle and a nephew: William C. Hieatt, New Castle. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 8th at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel. Dr. Herman Bowers officiated. Burial was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Martha Kays, 90, of Louisville, died Sunday, December 16, 2012. She passed at the Episcopal Church Home in Louisville. Martha was born in new Castle on June 19, 1922. She was married to her late husband, Davis Kays, for 58 years. She was the daughter of the late Herb and Ollie Sharp Jones. She is survived by five children: Jimmy (Sharon) Kays, Marlyn (Glenn) Korfhage, Ann (Chuck) Kays, all of Louisville; Jackie (Bill) Wheeler, Brandenburg, Ronnie (Bonnie) Kays, South Carolina; two sisters: Peggy Marsee, LaGrange and Marty Phillips, New Castle; one brother: Bobby Jones, Louisville; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters; Nancy Jones, Helen Woosley and Betty Peyton and one brother, Herb Jones, Jr. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 21st at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Earl Wayne Perry officiated. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

He is survived by his son: Nicholas Thomas (Patricia Ann) Konfrst, New Albany, IN. Memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 22 at the Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Paul Briscoe, Pastor of the Lockport Baptist Church, officiated. Cremation was chosen.
