Rodney Cain

 

            Rodney Dale Cain, 47, of Louisville, died Monday, September 8, 2008 at his residence.  He was the son of the late Edward F. and Ailene Marlette Cain.

            He is survived by four sisters: Linda Blume, Louisville, Patricia Logsdon and Penny Medley, both of Bradenburg and Sarah Hensley, Anderson, IN; and two brothers: Michael Cain and Darryl Cain, both of Louisville.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13th at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg.  Rev. Ben Secaur, Pastor of the Campbellsburg Christian Church, officiated. Interment was in the Campbellsburg Masonic Cemetery.

Martha Caldwell

 

            Martha Jean Cravens Caldwell, 73, of Morgantown, WVA, formerly of Campbellsburg, died Monday, May 19, 2003 at her home.  She was the daughter of the late Ramond and Cloral Teeters Cravens, a retired employee of Southern Bell Telephone Company, a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, and was a Braille transcriber for the blind.

            She is survived by one son: Cecil Pollard, Morgantown, WVA; two sisters: Alma Clements and Mary Poole; one grandchild; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

            Cremation services were provided by Hastings Funeral Home in Morgantown.

Mary Caldwell

 

            Mary Bruce Oldham Caldwell, 88, of Smithfield, died Sunday, February 17, 2008 at her residence.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Ballardsville Baptist Church.

            She is survived by one daughter: Judith Carol Trapp; two sons: John David Caldwell (Amanda) and Michael Ray Caldwell (Carolyn); two sisters: Ida Lillian Burgin and Diana Jean Whitehouse; one brother: Darrell Bruce Oldham; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hinkle Caldwell.

            Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 20th at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange.  Bro. Tommy Purvis and Bro. Ed Life officiated.  Interment was in the Smithfield Cemetery.

Luther Calloway, Jr.

 

          Luther A. �Lew� Calloway, Jr., 79, of Leesburg, GA, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009, in Albany, GA.  He served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea and retired from the U. S. Marine Corps.

            He is survived by his wife, Ann Hoagland Calloway, Leesburg GA and one step-son, John Steele, Jr., Port Royal.

            Private memorial services were held.  Prewitt Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.

Robert Eugene Calvert

 

Robert Eugene Calvert, 59, of Pleasureville, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Baptist Hospital Northeast in LaGrange.  He was born in Frankfort, worked at the Pleasureville Locker and was a U. S. Army Veteran.  He was the son of the late Eugene Calvert.

            He is survived by his wife: Debbie Woods Calvert, Pleasureville; one son: Tim Calvert (Jamie), Bagdad; one daughter: Tina Beasley ( Timothy), Pleasureville; his mother: Pearl O�Nan Calvert, Franklin County; five grandchildren: Robbie Calvert, Dalton Puckett, Tonya Puckett, Dylan Calvert and Coleton Calvert and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Maupin.

            Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26th, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville.  Rev. Travis Sheehan, Pastor of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, officiated.  Cremation followed the funeral services.

Pearl Cameron

 

Pearl Cameron, 81, of Shelbyville, died Sunday, January 4, 2009, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.  She was a native of Rockcastle County and the daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth Robinson Van Winkle.

            She is survived by four daughters: Shirley Burdine, California, Sharon Cameron, Shelbyville, Judy Peyton, Eminence, Charlotte Cameron, Smithfield; two sons: Dowell Cameron (Bernadette), Mt. Vernon and Marshall Cameron (Renee), Campbellsburg; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Cameron; daughter, Linda Gale Cameron; and three sisters, Ruby, Ruth and Elsie; and one brother, Henry, Jr.

            Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 9th at Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home.  Rev. Carl Rucker, of Campbellsburg, officiated.  Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

            Lela �Diane� Pearl Allen Carder, 73, of Campbellsburg, died Friday, June 8, 2012.  She was the daughter of the late Henry Clay and Bertha Davidson Allen.

            She is survived by seven children: Joseph Wayne Aubrey, Honolulu, HA, Diane Lynn Aubrey Moore, Campbellsburg, William David Aubrey, TX, Henry Clay Alan, Jr. and Connie F. Caldwell, both of Bennington, IN, Gary Carl William, Osgood, IN, and Shelia Gayle Carder, CA; and two step-children: Steven and Lisa Carder.

            Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16th, at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg.  Rev. Bobby Wade officiated.  Interment was in the Campbellsburg Cemetery.

Michelle Lynn Garfield Carman, 43, of Eminence, died Thursday, April 2, 2009, at the University of Louisville Hospital.  She was an organ donor.

            She is survived by her husband: Randall Carman, Eminence; five daughters: Brittany Hoskins (James), Shelbyville, Amber Moran, Candance Moran and Ebony Moran, all of Eminence and Dina Allen, Marion County; two sons: Chuckie A. Hall, Louisville and Randie Carman, Eminence; and six grandchildren,.

            Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, AApril 6th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Pastor Bill Bean, of Illinois, officiated, assisted by Pastor Rick Graybeal, of Louisville.

Pamela Ann Carman

 

Pamela Ann Carman, 41, wife of Charles Dale Carman of LaGrange, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at Baptist East Hospital, Louisville.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brittany Ann Carman and her father, Marvin Glenn Turner.

            She is survived by three daughters: Stephany Nicole Barr (Daniel), Panama City, FL, Cassandra Renee Carman and Jennifer Lynn Carman, both of LaGrange; one son: Charles Adam Carman, LaGrange; her mother: Charlotte Turner, Crestwood; five sisters: Barbara Rogers, Shelbyville, Laura Criswell, LaGrange, Kimberly Billingsley, Ridley Park, PA, Karen Popp, Bedford and Teresa Turner, Crestwood.

            Funeral services were held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17th at prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Marvin Carman of Franklinton officiated.

Mildred Carr

 

Mildred Baugh Carr, 85, of New Castle, died Monday, March 4, 2002, at Homestead Nursing Center, New Castle.  She was a native of Logan County, the daughter of the late Henry William and Elsie Adler Baugh and a member of the Campbellsburg Christian Church.

            She is survived by one daughter: Mary Faye Carr, Louisville and one sister: Olene Henderson, Lewisburg.

            Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Carl Rucker, Pastor of the Port Royal Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Terry Carson

 

          Terry Carson, 49, of Eminence, died Friday, January 23, 2009, at Norton Hospice Center, Louisville.  He was the son of the late Howard Ray and Viola Jane Rogers Carson, worked for the City of Eminence as the General Manager of Public Works, was the owner/operator of Carson�s Lawn Service.

            He is survived by his wife: Pam Carson, Eminence; one son: Terry Edward (Ro Donna) Carson, Jr., Pleasureville; one sister: Rebecca (Gerry) Sacra, Cropper; one brother: Cleveland (Diane) Carson, Williamstown; and four grandchildren.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 27th at Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home.  Bro. Ed Berry, Pastor of the Henry Christian Church, officiated, assisted by Bro. Jim Cavender, Pastor of the Cropper Baptist Church.  Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Clara Cavinall

 

          Clara �Granny� Cavinall, 100, of Sulphur, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at the Crestview Care and Rehabilitation Center in Shelbyville.  Born in Pendleton to the late Cliff and Ella Arvin Varble, she was a homemaker, a retired seamstress from Brunswick Corporation and a meat counter clerk at the Sulphur Grocery.  She was a member of the Sulphur Christian Church.

            She is survived by her daughter: Valeene Sweazy, Shelbyville; three grandchildren: Sherley (Malise) Sweazy, Bedford, Pamela (Ray) Devary, Pleasureville, and Mary Helen (Ben) Matthews, Taylorsville; three great-granddaughters: Tamara (Michael) Stough, LaGrange, Rene (Denny) Bowling, Bennington, IN, Jennifer (Rod) Mathews, Caanan, IN; and seven great-great-grandchildren: Justin and Madison Stough, Samuel and Shelby Herald and Matthew, Jenna and Danielle Craig.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Shirley �Jakie� Cavinall; four sisters: Maggie, Grace, Valdora and Mildred; and three brothers, Carl, Stewart and A. C.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3rd at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Charles T. Pinkston of Versailles officiated, assisted by Rev. Nick Coleman.  Interment was in the Sulphur Cemetery.

Carey Cecil, Sr.

 

          Carey Louis Cecil, Sr., 53, of Campbellsburg, died Monday, December 24, 2007, at Baptist Hospital Northeast Hospice Unit.  He was the son of the late James V. Cecil, Sr., and Ruby Mae Uncleback Cecil.

            He is survived by his wife: Pamela L. Cox Adams, Campbellsburg; two sons: C. J. Cecil and Josh Cecil and his companion, Tiffany, all of Louisville; one step-son: Jon (Sarah) Adams, Bethlehem; one step-daughter: Alexa (Drew) Garrett, Campbellsburg; two brothers: Jim Cecil and Mike Cecil, both of Louisville; three sisters: Georgie Kalwat, Darlene Carrier and Rosalee Wells, all of Louisville; one grandson; four step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27th at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg.  Rev. Bert Montgomery, Pastor of the Campbellsburg Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Smithfield Cemetery.

Mary Chadwell

 

          Mary Joyce McAlister Chadwell, 74, of Frankfort,, formerly of Henry County, died Monday, February 19, 2007 at her home.  A native of Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ethel Dearringer McAlister, a retired manager Good Shepherd School and a homemaker.

            She is survived by four sons: David Chadwell, Sr., Donald (Dawn) Chadwell, William Chadwell, Sr., and Michael Chadwell, Sr., all of Frankfort; two daughters: Brenda Chadwell Mullins and Marilyn Kaye (Mike) Chadwell Hopper, all of Frankfort; one brother: Cecil McAlister, Gratz; eighteen grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh William Chadwell; two brothers: Gayle McAlister and Ray McAlister; and six sisters: Daphne Fisher, Mattie Cox, Daisy Lyons, Juanita Newby, Ruth Duvall and Peggy Sue McAlister.

            Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24th at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel.  Rev.�s Doug Simpson, David Rayborn, Scott Bryan and Dr. Chuck Henderson officiated.  Interment was in the Defoe Cemetery.

Eva Chandler

 

            Eva M. Downey Chandler, 72, of Shelbyville, died Wednesday, November 12, 2003, at her residence.  She was the daughter of the late Eli Downey, Sr. and Laura Elizabeth Yates, a shipping clerk at Curtis Industries, an employee of Wal-Mart and a member of the Highland Baptist Church.

            She is survived by five sons: Wilson Chandler, Winchester, TN, Kevin Chandler, San Diego, CA, Phillip Chandler, Nicholasville and Bruce and Robert Chandler, both of Shelbyville; one brother: Eli Downey, Jr., Lexington; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nephews.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy Chandler.

            Funeral services were held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14th at the Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville.  Dr. Wayne Anderson and Gayle Chandler officiated.  Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.

            Wanda Sue Chandler, 64, of LaGrange, died Friday, September 7, 2012 at her residence.  She was the daughter of the late Otha and Nellie Bourne Jones.

            She is survived by her daughter: Jacqueline Wills, Pleasureville; one brother: Jack Jones, LaGrange; four sisters: Mattie Hall and Evelyn Jones, both of LaGrange, Marlene Lentz and Deanne Jones, both of Louisville; one uncle: Paul (Chris) Bourne; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

            Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 10th, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville.  Rev. Andy Messamore, Pastor of the Pleasureville United Methodist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

            Alberta Martha Kelley Chilton, 84, of Pleasureville, died Tuesday, March 31, 1998 at Homestead Nursing Center, New Castle.  She was a member of the Franklinton Baptist Church and a homemaker.

            She is survived by her husband: Gayle Chilton, Pleasureville; one son: Ashley Chilton, Pleasureville; one daughter: Brenda (Clyde) Morgan, Pleasureville; three grandchildren; one great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandson.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 3rd at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville.  Revs. Mike and Mona Huff, Pastors of the Franklinton Baptist Church, and Kerry Grogan, Pastor of the Drennon Christian Church, officiated.

            Edward L. Chilton, 95, of Turners Station, died July 30, 2012 at Homestead Nursing Center in New Castle.  He was the son of the late Robert and Evelyn Sorrell Chilton.

            He is survived by two children: Marie Foust, Benton and Joe A. Chilton, Turners Station.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 3rd at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg.  Rev. Earl Wayne Perry officiated.  Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

Donald Chisholm, Sr.

 

          Donald Ray Chisholm, 67, of Eminence, died Wednesday, September 3, 2003 at the VA Medical Center, Louisville.  He was the son of the late John Samuel Oldham and Maggie Bennett Chisholm, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, a retired shipping clerk at Fischer�s Packing Co., and a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Eminence.

            He is survived by his wife: Joyce Beverly Chisholm, Eminence; one daughter: Regina Chisholm-Gravitt, Eminence; two sons: John Lawrence Chisholm and Arnold Bennett Chisholm, both of Eminence; one brother: Harold Dean Chisholm, Eminence; one sister: Pauline Long, Eminence; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Ray Chisholm, Jr. and one brother and one sister.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6th at Sholar

Funeral Home in Pleasureville.  Rev. Robert Eades and Rev. Louis Edday, Jr., United Pentecostal Church in Eminence, officiated.  Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

          Larry Brent Chisholm, 62, of Pleasureville, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville.  He was a U. S. Marine Corps Veteran, having served two tours in Vietnam.

            He is survived by his wife: Ann Bennett Chisholm, Pleasureville; his mother: Carolyn Roberts Harilson, Frankfort; one step-daughter: Chrystal Haberman, Franklinton.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 13th, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville.  Rev. Eddie Nation officiated.  Interment was in the Defoe Cemetery.

Aline Clark

 

            Aline Holcomb Clark, 85, of Louisville, formerly of Eminence, died Thursday, August 16, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital Hospice Center in Lexington.  Daughter of the late Arvey and Elnora Estes Holcomb, she retired from GE in Louisville.

            She is survived by two daughters: Linda Timberlake, Eminence and Connie Diehlman, Louisville; one son: Wayne (Margaret) Roberts, Georgetown; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her son, Estill Roberts, Jr. and two sisters, Christine Dorton and Beatrice Estes.

            Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 18th at the Eminence Cemetery.

Carrie Clark

 

            Carrie B. Clark, 87, of Campbellsburg, died Sunday, January 26, 2003 at Homestead Nursing Center, New Castle.  She was the daughter of the late Voyce and Omedia Dunaway, a member of the Turners Station Baptist Church.

            She is survived by a daughter: Betty Jane Brown (Denny), Campbellsburg and a son: Robert Clark, LaGrange.

            Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 29th at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg.  Rev. Carl Rucker officiated.  Interment was in the Campbellsburg Cemetery.

John Buford Cobb, Jr.

 

          John Buford Cobb, Jr., 77, of Pewee Valley, formerly of Eminence, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 31, 2012.

            He and his wife were the owners of Stoess Funeral Home and Crestwood Hardware and a member of the DeHaven Baptist Church.  He was a graduate of Georgetown College and attended the Southern Baptist Seminary.  He pastured Baptist

Churches in Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois.  He was the son of the late J. B. and Muriel Cobb.

            He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Annette Allen Cobb; children: Buford III (Jan), Dwayne (Patty), Mark (Cyndi), and Tara Kaiser (Ted); grandchildren: Chase (Ashley), Aubrey, Aaron, Anna, Katie, Jennifer, Justin, Madison, Mason Cobb; Trey, Stephanie and MacKenzie Kaiser; great-grandson: Jackson Cobb; brother: Melvyn and Greg Cobb; sisters: Betty (Charlie) Carter and Patricia Cobb and many nieces and nephews.

            Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 4th, at Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood.  Interment was in the Floydsburg Cemetery.

Mary Coates

 

Mary Frances Coates, 89, of Bowling Green, died Tuesday, December 24, 2002 at Rosewood Health Care Facility in Bowling Green.  She was a native of Barren County, the daughter of the late Lora Carder and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Glasgow.

            She is survived by two sisters: Sue Jones, Campbellsburg and Dorothy Spence; one brother: James Carder, Campbellsburg; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Dow Coates and a son, Franklin Dow Coates.

            Graveside funeral services were held at the Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell on December 30th.  A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home in Glasgow was in charge of arrangements.

            Darlene �Dale� Collins, 55, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Norton Pavilion.  She was a member of the Defoe Church of Christ and the daughter of the late Joyce Meredith.

            She is survived by her husband: James Collins; two daughters: Kimberly Melton and Melissa Wheeler; son: Joey Williams, Jr., father: Arthur Meredith; two sisters: Gayle Tucker and Marion Plocica; five brothers: James, Wayne, Calvin, Marshall and Marion Meredith; eleven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

            Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 17th, at Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral Home, Louisville.  Crematory services followed.

            Kenneth Collins, 84, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, October 11, 2003 at Jewish Hospital, Shelbyville.  He was the son of the late Arnold and Bessie Wills Collins, a native of Bath County and a farmer.

            He is survived by one step-son: Mark Glore, Middletown; two step-daughters: Diane Raisor, Port Royal and Helen Henson, Pendleton; six step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Nation Collins.

            Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., October 13th at Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville.  Rev. Jesse Baxter officiated.  Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery.

          Ethel Cantrell Combs, 69, of New Castle, died Friday, March 12, 1993, at Tri-County Baptist Hospital, LaGrange.  She was a native of Henry County and a retired seamstress at Fruit of the Loom Company, Frankfort.

            She is survived by one daughter: Carolyn Abbott, Owenton; one son: James Walker, New Castle; three step-daughters: Anna Mae Walters and Glenna Wallace, both of Erlanger, and Cathalean (James) Tinch, Frankfort; two step-sons: Eugene Combs, Erlanger and Eddie Combs, Shelbyville; five sisters: Winford (Charlie) Blackburn and Lambert (Dale) Perkins, both of Owenton, Louise Jones, Louisville, Frankie Jackson and Katie Uhl, both of Covington; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

            Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 15th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Dr. David Charlton, Pastor of the New Castle First Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

Brenda Crawford

 

Brenda D. Crawford, 42, of Campbellsburg, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at her home.  She was the daughter of the late Goebel Moors, Jr., a member of Vision Ministries and the Turners Station Baptist Church.

            She is survived by her husband: George Crawford, Campbellsburg; a son: Faran Eugene Crawford, Campbellsburg; two daughters: Candice Jeannette Burton and Jami Lee Crawford, both of Campbellsburg; one step-son: George Tomlin, Covington; mother: Ruth Moore, Carrollton; a brother: Larry Moore, Carrollton; five sisters: Linda Hicks, Ruth Burchfield, Mary Stout, Pam Jeffries and Kathy Crawford, all of Carrollton; and three grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 18th at the Turners Station Baptist Church.  Bro. Jeff Coombs and Bro. Robin Roberts officiated.  Interment was in the Turners Station Cemetery.  Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg, was in charge of arrangements.

Clyde Cropper

 

          Clyde Carter Cropper, 80, formerly of Bedford, died Monday, January 27, 2003 at the Sellersburg Rehabilitation Center.  He was a retired teacher, principal and assistant superintendent of the Trimble County School System and worked for the education department at the LaGrange Reformatory.

            He is survived by his wife: Elizabeth; daughter: Martha Smith, Owensboro; a brother: Kenny Cropper; a sister: Beulah Hill; and two grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a wife, Dorothy Cropper and a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Cropper.

            A joint memorial service was held Sunday, February 2nd at 3:00 p.m. at Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford.  Rev. Carl Rucker officiated.

Willie Dean

 

Willie Hugh Dean, 83, of LaGrange, died Friday, January 3, 2003 at Baptist Hospital Northeast.  He was a native of Henry County, the son of the late Ethel Elizabeth Cain and Field Rockwell Dean, a WWII U. S. Army Veteran, and a retired warehouse worker for Belknap Hardware Company.

            He is survived by his wife: Margaret Totten Dean, LaGrange; two sons: Denny Hall, Hardy, VA and Lawrence Hall, Nacogdoches, TX; one brother: Russell Dean, Pendleton; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Hayden.

            Funeral services were held on Monday, January 6th at Arch L. Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange.  Rev. Tommy Purvis, Pastor of the Ballardsville Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Louisville Memorial Gardens East.

Daniel Detwiler

 

            Daniel K. Detwiler, 92, of Eminence, died Saturday, February 1,2003 at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville.  He was the son of the late Edwin and Sophie Weismann Detwiler, a native of Columbiana, OH, a WWII U. S. Army Veteran, a retired dentist at V.A. Hospital, Louisville, a former City Councilman in Eminence, a former Rotarian and a member of the Eminence Christian Church.

            He is survived by his wife: Mary Carter Detwiler, Eminence; a daughter: Betty Detwiler, Louisville; three sons: Bob Detwiler, Frankfort, Skip Detwiler, Crestwood and William Detwiler, Sr., Shelbyville; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

            Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 3rd at the Eminence Christian Church.  Rev. Ed Berry, Pastor of the Henry Christian Church, officiated.  He was assisted by Nathan Wilson, interim Pastor of the Eminence Christian Church.  Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.  Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Stacie Diamond

 

            Stacie Janel Diamond, 27, of Owenton, died Thursday, January 30, 2003 as a result of an automobile accident.  She was a native of Louisa, assistant principal at Henry County Middle School, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Owen County.

            She is survived by her parents: Mike and Gloria Kitchen Diamond, Louisa; two sisters: Janice Sayler, Louisa and Beverly Rutledge, Morehead; grandparents: William and Pauline Berry Kitchen, Louisa and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

            Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, February 2nd at Greenlawn Cemetery, Louisa.  Davin Wakins and Bobby Workman officiated.  Young Funeral Home, Louisa was in charge of arrangements.

James Doyle

 

            James C. Doyle, 92, of Smithfield, died Thursday, December 19, 2002 at his residence.  He was a native of Shelby County, the son of the late William Abner and Julia Sacra Doyle, a retired farmer, a member and former deacon of the Eminence Baptist Church.

            He is survived by his wife: Lillian Doyle, Smithfield; two daughters: Debbie Jackson, Shelbyville and Terry Lucas, Smithfield; one son: Billy Doyle, Smithfield; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

            Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 22nd, at Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home.  Rev. Michael Duncan, Pastor of the Eminence Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

William Drury

 

            William C. Drury, 77, of Bedford, died Saturday, November 8, 2003 at Baptist hospital Northeast, LaGrange.  He was the son of the late Dewey and Eva Aldridge Drury.

            He is survived by his wife: Polly Drury, Bedford; one son: Travis Drury, Bedford; two daughters: Tricia (Joseph) Miracle, Campbellsburg and Tammie (Mark) Meadows, Bedford; one brother: Grover Drury, Jonesville; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

            A memorial services was held at 3:00 p.m. at Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford.  Bro. Bobby Wade officiated.

Jack Durrett

 

            Jack Durrett, 68, of New Castle, died suddenly Saturday, December 4, 1993 at his residence.  He was a native of Shelby County and a dairy farmer.

            He is survived by his wife: Caroline Mayfield Durrett, New Castle; two daughters: Susie Turner, Smithfield and Bonnie (Jim) Thompson, Cave City; one son: Jerry Durrett, New Castle; two sisters: Nancy (Elmo) Ethington, Simpsonville and Mary Mack Lancaster, Frankfort; one brother: James F. Durrett, Jeffersonville, IN and five grandchildren.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 6th at the Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Rick Coleman, Pastor of the New Castle Christian Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.

Rosemary Duvall

 

          Rosemary Ethington Duvall, 85, of Carrollton, died Thursday, March 26, 1998 at Baptist Hospital East, Louisville.  She was a native of Defoe in Henry County, the daughter of the late Thomas P. and Nora Clements Ethington, a home economics teacher for eight years, managed the Gypsy Grill in Carrollton for 30 years, a member of the DAR and the Port William Historical Society and a member of the First Baptist Church, Carrollton.

            She is survived by two nieces: Joan Cleveland, Louisville and Nora McCarty, Frankfort; and several great-nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Josiah Slocum Duvall.

            Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 28th at the First Baptist Church, Carrollton.  Rev. Chris White officiated.  Interment was in the Carrollton IOOF Cemetery.
