Joyce Arnold Hackett

Joyce Arnold Hackett, 76, of Bethlehem, died Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville. She was born in Lockport and was the daughter of the late Curtis Monroe and Rose Vernon Shuck Arnold. She was a homemaker and belonged to the Bethlehem Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband: Billy G. Hackett, Bethlehem; her daughters: Pamela Jean Hackett Pryor (Muncey), New Castle and Joy Denise Hackett James ( Tom), Bethlehem; her grandchildren: Jesse Curtis Pryor, Sheana Joyce Pryor, Eden Jean Pryor, Christopher Matthew Bruther, Sean Thomas James and Nicholas Alexander James; her great-grandson: William David Bruther and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson: Jordon Muncey Pryor, a brother: G. W. Arnold and one sister: Virginia Craigmyle.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 25th, at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Dr. Corky Klingenfus, Southeast Christian Church and Rev. Mike James, Bethlehem Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Mollie G. Hall

Mrs. Mollie Grigsby Hall, 74, died at her home in North Pleasureville at 3:00 a.m., Thursday, December 9, 1948. She was the widow of the late Warren Hall.

She is survived by one daughter: Mrs. Dallas Stivers. Mrs. Hall and Mr. and Mrs. Stivers made their home together.

Funeral services were conducted at the residence at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 11th with Rev. Donald Rose officiating, assisted by Rev. C. A. Nunery. Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Ronald Hargis

Ronald Edward Hargis, 62, of Pendleton, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at Veterans Medical Center in Louisville. He was the son of the late Orville Hargis and Lily Almeda Winburn Hargis. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War and earned a Purple Heart.

He is survived by his wife: Mary Ann Shuffitt Hargis, Pendleton; two daughters: Melinda Ann Walker and Deborah Lynn Lawson, both of Ohio; stepchildren: Robert E. Stauble, Louisville and Kathy Ann West, Bedford.

A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 29th, at Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford. Rev. Ferrill Davis officiated.

Jack W. Hayden

Jack W. Hayden, 65, of Turners Station, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at VA Hospital in Louisville. He was a farmer and an employee with Black and Decker in Shelbyville. Jack was a U. S. Army Veteran, a member of the Port Royal Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Henry County DAV. He was the son of the late William Lyle and Lilly Viola Jones Hayden.

He is survived by his wife: Patricia Hayden, Turners Station; daughter: Tammy Lewis, Lexington; three sons: Michael T. Hayden, Indiana, Kevin Wayne Hayden and wife, Bonnie, Turners Station, and Tim W. Hayden and companion, Monica, Ghent; five grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Wyatt Hayden.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 19th, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Earl Wayne Perry, Associate Pastor of the Sligo Baptist Church, officiated, assisted by Cliff Barger, Ackworth, GA. Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

William Raymond Herman

William Raymond Herman, 64, of Campbellsburg, died April 2, 2011 in Gilbertsville, KY. He was born October 28, 1946 in Louisville, to the late Willis Raymond and Lillie Bell Pardon Herman.

Ray retired as a Kentucky State Police Lieutenant, sat on the Board of Directors for the Trooper Island Children�s Camp, and was a member of the Campbellsburg Baptist Church where he faithfully served as a deacon. A member of the Campbellsburg Lions Club and the Kentucky State Policeman Professionals Association (K.S.P.P.A.), Ray gave of his time to the Relay for Life.

He leaves behind his loving wife: Olive Jean Phelps Herman; two children: Michael Ray Herman and his wife Marie of Oswego, IL and Denise Marie Herman and husband Mike Lahey, Butte, MN; two sisters: Jerry Burd and husband Milton of Cleveland, MS and Betty Jean Pendergest and husband Marty, Cleveland, OH.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 5th at 11:00 a.m. at the Campbellsburg Baptist Church. Rev. Shawn Golden officiated. Ransdell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Frances Hall

Frances Eloise Hall, 89, of Eminence, died Thursday, November 17, 2011, at her residence. She was born in Pleasureville and was the daughter of the late Luke and Lorene Banta Stivers. She was retired from General Electric, where she worked for 30 years, and was a member of the Pleasureville Christian Church.

She is survived by two sons: Wayne Ray Hall, Pleasureville and Glenn Hall, Shelbyville; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one niece.

Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, at the Pleasureville Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Tracy officiated. Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville, was in charge of arrangements.

John B. Hamilton, Jr.

John B. Hamilton, Jr., 37, of Eminence, died Thursday, October 6, 2011. He owned and operated Hamilton�s Auto Repair in LaGrange.

He is survived by a son Jonathan Harvey Hamilton and a daughter: Laura Lee Hamilton, both of Eminence; his parents: Elder John B. Hamilton and Lorene Newsome Hamilton, Bevinsville; A sister: Barbara Fallis (Victor Ray), Pleasureville; a nephew: Joshua Spaulding, Shelbyville and a niece: Julia Smith, New Castle.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13th, at the Pleasureville Baptist Church. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery. Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville, was in charge of arrangements.

Christine Hardin

Christine Hardin, 85, of Smithfield, formerly of Oldham County, died Sunday, may 1, 2011. She worked for many years as a cook/waitress at several local restaurants.

She is survived by her son: William B. Hardin; daughters: Norma Jean Bell (Mike) and Mary H. Walker (Jim); four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Norman D. Hardin.

Funeral services were held on Monday, May 2nd, at Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood. Interment was in the Louisville Memorial Gardens East.

Lonnie Hardin, Jr.

Lonnie �Boo� Hardin, Jr., 45, of Defoe, died Monday, December 5, 2011, at his residence.

He is survived by his father: Lonnie Clifford Hardin, Sr., Cincinnati, his step parents: Doug and Edna Ayers, Defoe; and one step-son: Gary Davis, Defoe.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 9th at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Bob Litton, Pastor of the Union Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Point Pleasant Cemetery.

MB Hardin, Sr.

MB Hardin, Sr., 81, of Port Royal, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at his residence. He was the son of the late Robert and Daisy Tingle Hardin.

He is survived by his wife: Helen C. Jones Hardin, Port Royal; three daughters: Crystal Atkinson, Bedford, Deborah King and Beverly Henry, both of Port Royal, and one son: MB Hardin, Jr., Port Royal.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 14th, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Bro. Shawn Golden, Pastor of the Campbellsburg Baptist Church and Bro. Corey Beatty, Pastor of the Drennon Christian Church, officiated. Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

Norman D. Hardin

Norman D. Hardin, 84, of Smithfield, formerly of Oldham County, died Friday, April 29, 2011, after a short illness. He was a veteran of WWII and worked as a dairy farmer for most of his life. He retired from Kentucky Country Day School as assistant maintenance supervisor.

He was survived by his wife of 67 years, Christine Hardin; one son: William B. Hardin; daughters: Norma Jean Bell (Mike), and Mary H. Walker (Jim); four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 2, 2011 at Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood. Interment was in the Louisville Memorial Gardens East.

Robert Hargrove

Robert Vaughn Hargrove, 84, died Monday, November 28, 2011, in Louisville. He was a native of Louisville, a graduate of Pleasureville High School and a former resident of Milton. He worked for Dow Corning for 30 years. He was a member of the Shelbyville Baptist Church and was a former member of the Milton Baptist Church, where he had been ordained as a deacon. He was the son of the late William Harold and Lillian Hargrove.

He is survived by his wife: Sue Hargrove, Shelbyville; his sons: Tim Hargrove (Claudia), Louisville, Jamie Hargrove (Renee), Pewee Valley and Brad Hargrove (Debbie), Eminence; his sister: Mary Evelyn Land, Louisville; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1st, at Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Dr. Stephen C. Rice and Dr. Geoffrey McGillen officiated. Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery.

Luke Harlow

Luke Harlow, 36, died Monday morning at the King�s Daughters Hospital, in Frankfort. He was taken to the hospital Saturday afternoon.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the Grub Ridge Christian Church. Burial was in the Grub Ridge Cemetery.

He is survived by a daughter: Thelma Harlow; two sons: Kenneth Harlow and Roy Harlow; his mother: Mary Ellen Harlow; three sisters: Mrs. Myrtle Broughton, Mrs. Mattie Broughton, and Mrs. Rebekah Bramblett; and one brother: John Harlow

JB Hawkins

ZJB Hawkins, 87, of Louisville, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at St. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, Louisville. He was the son of the late Joe Hawkins and Mary Belle Hopkins Hawkins. He served in the Marine Corps during WWII and was honorably discharged as a Corporal.

He is survived by his wife: Juanita May Stockdale Hawkins.

Funeral services were held at noon on Monday, May 9th, at Ransdell Funeral Home in Campbellsburg. Rev. Drew Oakley officiated. Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

Juanita Hawkins

Juanita May Stockdale Hawkins, 87, of Henry County, died Friday, August 5, 2011, at the Summerfield Health and Rehab in Louisville. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Bessie Hewitt Stockdale.

She is survived by her granddaughter: Michele Lewis, of Louisville.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 9th, at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg. Rev. Drew Oakley officiated. Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

Pauline Hawkins

Pauline M. Hawkins, 65, of Carrollton, died Friday, April 9, 1993 at Jewish Hospital, Louisville.. She was formerly of Port Royal and a member of the Port Royal Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter: Mrs. Vangee Lee (Paula Jean) Hawkins, Port Royal; one son: Maurice Lee Hawkins, Port Royal; one sister: Mrs. Ervine (Ida Mae) Wachter, Norwood, OH; one brother: L. T. McAllister, Port Royal; and three grandchildren: Brandon Lee Hawkins, Ashlee Nicole Hawkins and Holly Christian Hawkins, all of Port Royal.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 12th at the Prewitt Funeral Home, New Castle. Rev. Jewell Cundiff, Louisville, officiated. Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

Kevin Wayne Hayden

Kevin Wayne Hayden, 42, of Turners Station, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. Son of the late Jack Wayne Hayden, he was a heavy equipment operator. Kevin was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 181 and the American Legion Carrollton Post No. 41.

He is survived by his wife: Bonnie Hayden, Turners Station; three daughters: Amanda Hayden, Kaitlin Hayden and Bailey Hayden, all of Turners Station; his mother: Patricia Hayden, Turners Station; two brothers: Michael T. Hayden, IN and Tim W. Hayden and Companion, Monica, Ghent; half-sister: Tammy Lewis, Lexington; and grandson: Hayden Hibbard.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 2nd, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Ron Laughlin, Pastor of the Port Royal United Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

Mary Ann Hayes, 60, of Eminence, died Monday, June 27, 2011. She was the daughter of the late James Vernon Harris, Sr.

She is survived by her daughter: Dana West, Louisville; and her mother: Nancy West, Eminence.

Leroy Henderson

Leroy Henderson, 70, of Poor Ridge Pike, Lancaster, died Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at his residence. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of Roy and Bertha Henderson. Leroy was a cricket farmer for over 35 years.

He is survived by his wife: Elaine Pfiel Henderson, Lancaster; one son: mark Henderson (Trudy), LaBelle, FL; three daughters: Debbie Morgan (Richard), Coleman, TX, Tammy Johnson, Cocoa Beach, FL, and Trish Brandenburg, Myrtle Beach, SC; two brothers: Clay Henderson (Kay), Nicholasville and Ray Henderson (Brenda), Shelbyville; one sister: Geraldine Bohannon, New Castle; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial services was held Monday, September 26th at the Stratton Center in Shelbyville. Spurlin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Curtis Higgins

Curtis Higgins, Sr., 65, of Aulander, NC, died Monday, August 29, 2011, at his residence. He was the son of the late Roy T. and Marie Combs Higgins, Sr.

He is survived by two daughters: Jamar L Higgins, Mitchellville, MD and Crystal Gail Higgins, Louisville; two sons: Curtis Hubert Higgins, Jr. Gibraltar, MI and Eric Goodwin, Louisville.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 9th, at the Eminence First Baptist Church. Pastor Roy H. Higgins III and Rev. Charles Duncan, Jr. officiated. Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 10th at the Combs Family Cemetery in Hazard. Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Joy Lee Howard

Joy Lee Sparks Howard, 78, of Drennon, died Thursday, September 1, 2011, at Baptist Hospital Northeast in LaGrange. She was born in Marion, Ohio and was the daughter of the late John Sparks and Julie Mann Sparks.

She was a homemaker and belonged to the Little Mary Old regular Baptist Church, Shelbyville.

She is survived by one son: Robert Dean Bob) Howard, Drennon; her brother: J. C. Sparks, Hindman; one nephew and six nieces. She was p[receded in death by her husband: Talmadge (Jake) Howard and her sister: Cherry Dean Cook.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3rd, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville, Bro. Ralph Slone, Jr., Bro. Eddie Slone and Bro. Cledith Hall officiated. Interment was in the Franklinton Cemetery.


William Hunt

William Garnett Hunt, 78, of Louisville, died Sunday, August 14, 2011, at Baptist East Hospital. He was the son of the late Robert and Iva Combs Hunt. He was a barber, a United States Army Veteran and a member of the Metropolitan Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife: Elizabeth Ann Ethington Hunt, Louisville; two sons: Larry Rhodes (Debbie) and Robert Hunt, all of Louisville; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Clarence Hunt and Veachel Hunt, and five sisters: Edith Billingsly, Beatrice Thomas, LaVerne Burks, Nina Pace and Dallice Burks.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 18th, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Scott Hughes and Rev. Larry Rhodes officiated. Interment was in the Defoe Cemetery.

Annmarie Ivers, 52, of New Castle, died Thursday, April 7, 2011. She was the daughter of the late William and Maxine Bolduc.

She is survived by two daughters: Aimee Ivers, new Castle and Jodie Vaughn, Eminence.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 11th, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Jennifer Ivers, 56, of Bethlehem, died Monday, July 18, 2011. Daughter of the late Clay and Roberta Roberts Oliver, she worked for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

She is survived by her husband: Lonnie Ivers, Bethlehem; and daughter: Lorissa Ivers, Louisville.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 20th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Bro. Frank Cannon officiated.
