Bernice Shuck Norton, 74, of Frankfort, died Thursday, January 27, 2011, at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Ben Wesley and Jenny Clyde Dixon Shuck. She is survived by four sons: John Russell Ferguson, Jr., Midway, Gilbert Lee Abbott, Jr., Bedford, James Neal Abbott, Campbellsburg, and Chester Raymond Abbott, New Castle; two daughters: Mary Helen Frye, Carrollton and Rebecca Ann Abbott, Frankfort. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 1st, at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Gene Roberts officiated. Interment was in the Bagdad Cemetery. Bessie O�Nan, 82, of Defoe, died Thursday, February 24, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Lyndon and Mary Thomas �Tommy� Clements Wheeler. She was a homemaker and a member of the Defoe Christian Church. She is survived by two daughters: Shelia O�Nan, Lexington and Marcie Hehl (Bob), Defoe; one brother: Orem Wheeler, Acworth, GA; one sister: Nellie Bright, Eminence; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil O�Nan and her son, Steve O�Nan. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 27th, at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. Rev. Dr. Martha B. O�Nan, 91, of Pleasureville, died Thursday, February 17, 2011, at her residence. She was a lif-long Shelby County farmer and was a retired college professor, educator and scholar with numerous doctorates and postdoctoral degrees. She is survived by many friends, cousins and neighbors. A gathering will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 27th, at the Pleasureville Cemetery. Sholar Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Lew Carroll Oliver, 41, of Breham, TX, died Thursday, March 25, 1993 at his re4sidence following a long illness. He was formerly from Henry County, a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, a self-employed carpenter and an Army Veteran. He is survived by one son: Lynn Carroll Oliver, Frankfort; one daughter: Crystal, Terhune, Springfield; six sisters: Bonnie Hance, Eminence, Eve3lyn Raisor, Pleasureville, Brenda Snider, Lockport, Jennifer Ivers, Bethlehem, Janice Wright, Owenton and Mary Oliver, Lockport; a devoted friend: Jo Ann Morgan, Brenham, TX and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday, March 29th, at McDonald Funeral Home in Owenton. Rev. Eugene Webster, Gratz, officiated. Interment was in the Franklinton Cemetery. Moses C. Orem 85, formerly of Campbellsburg, died April 1, 2011 in Clarksville, TN. Mr. Orem served in the U.S. Army during WWII, graduated from the University of Kentucky and was an educator, insurance agent, bank official and farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents: Hugh R. and Laura Suter Orem and is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy Frederickson Orem, Clarksville, TN; sister: Betty Peyton, Campbellsburg; son: Hugh David Orem (Lacy), Pembroke, KY and daughter: Robin Stump (Jerry), Franklin, TN and grandchildren Jack and Mary Glenn Orem and Julia and Sarah Stump. J. Larry �Rooster� Patterson, 62, of Pleasureville, died Sunday, April 10, 2011. Son of the late Luther Calvin and Mary Agnes Knauer Patterson, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of Kingdom Hall in LaGrange. Rooster worked for 32 years at Ford Motor Company. He is survived by his wife: Theresa A. Patterson, Pleasureville; three daughters: Melissa A. Bolen (Steve), Wakeman, OH, Heather Burns, Pleasureville, and Jaime Lynn (Joe), Frankfort; two sisters: Cathy Bell (Tim), South Carolina and Louise Bradley (Alvin), North Carolina; one brother: Paul Patterson (Debi), New London, OH; seven grandchildren: Christopher, Stephanie, Justin, Raena, Frances, Scottie, and Zora. He was preceded in death by one niece, Patty Redmond and two nephews: Jon Henry Patterson and Paul Eugene Patterson, Jr. Memorial services were held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 13t5h, at Crystal Lake Clubhouse, LaGrange. Rev. Paul E. Perry, 76, of Campbellsburg, died Friday, January 28, 2011, at Baptist Hospital Northeast. He was the son of the late John Elliott Perry and Bessie Cain Perry. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife: Morene Maiden Perry; two daughters: Joy Perry Monroe and Gayla Perry Maroney, both of Bedford. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 1st, at the Campbellsburg Apostolic Pentecostal Church. Rev. James Maroney officiated. Interment was in the Campbellsburg Cemetery. Grace Lynn Hanley Pollard, 73, formerly of Henry County, died Saturday, January 29, 2011, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born April 10, 1938, in Henry County to the late James and Melvina Crawford Hanley. She is survived by her husband of 57 years: Robert �Bob� Curtis Pollard; two daughters: Patricia Ann Pollard, Mocksville, and Barbara Lee Pollard, Yadkinville; two sons: Milton Alle4n Pollard and wife, Marsha, and Paul Douglas Pollard and wife, Diane, all of South Carolina; four grandchildren: Robert Mack Pollard, Stephen Barrett Krimm Pollard, Cody Austin Pollard and Carter Hanley Pollard; a great-grandson: Garret Ashe Pollard; and a brother: Pail Hanley and wife, Lorado. She was preceded in death by six siblings: James Hanley, Jr., Dorothy Martin, Milton Hanley; Mary Jean Gardner, Wilanna Kidwell and Charles Hanley. Linda Lou Poole, 71, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, March 12, 2011, at the Baptist Hospital East, Louisville. She was the daughter of the late Johnny B. and Nora Lee Clark. She is survived by her husband: William F. Poole, Shelbyville; two sons: William C. Poole, Bagdad and Robert Bradley Poole, Grafenburg; one daughter: Leslie Gay Cox, Shelbyville. Earl Parrish, 84, of Pleasureville, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at his residence. He was the son of the late Earl Parrish, Sr. and Elizabeth Clark Parrish. He was a chief engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 38 years and a U. S. Army Veteran of WWII. He is survived by his wife: Thelma McDowell Parrish, Pleasureville; one son: Stephen Parrish, Jeffersontown; two sisters: Alma Harp, LaGrange and Marguarette Welsh, Louisville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17th at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Dan Taylor officiated. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery. Ruby Mae Payton, 79, of Horse Cave, died Friday, August 12, 2011, at the Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Garnett Lee Gardner and Helen Holston Gardner. She is survived by one daughter, Kim Holtzclaw, Horse Cave. Funeral services were he3ld on August 15th, at the Sego Funeral Home, Munfordville. Interment was in the Munfordville Community Cemetery. Mildred Kathern Kesler Case Peak, 90, of Pleasureville, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at her residence. She was a farmer, a homemaker and a member of the Cropper Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters: Ginnie Kathern Case, Eminence, Nancey Mae Case-Hawkins, Shelbyville, and Bobbye Annis Sutherland, Pleasureville; one sister: Virginia Bohannon, Pleasureville; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husbands: I. B. Case and Lois Gilbert Peak; one son: Paul Thomas Case; sisters: Lillian Ritchie, Cora Mae Tipton, and Elizabeth �Babe� Wilson; son-in-law: Jerry Sutherland; daughter in law: Joyce Case; beloved friend: Bill Annis and four grandchildren. Edward T. �Red� Perry, 87, of Pendleton, died Sunday, August 21, 2011, at Baptist Northeast at LaGrange. Red was born on December 15, 1923, in Henry County to John Elliott and Bessie Cain Perry. He served his country in the Army and was a WWII Veteran. He was the vice president of Kelly and Wilmore and a Pro-Am bowler. He is survived by his children: Judith Chapman and her husband, Phillip, Ghent, Edward Thomas Perry, Jr., and his wife, Julia, Pell City, AL, Debra James and her husband, Elmer, Pendleton; his brothers and sisters: Mary Aaron, Carrollton, Elliott Perry, Jr. and wife, Nila, Bedford, IN, Ray Perry and his wife, Karen, Battle Creek, MI, Sanford �Bud� Skaggs and his wife, Brenda, Carrollton, Robert �Bob� Perry and his wife, Diane, Carrollton; a sister-in-law: Morene Perry, Campbellsburg; and a brother-in-law: Charles Martin, Clarksville, IN; five grandchildren and eight great-grand children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Perry; one son: Richard �Ricky� Perry; two brothers, Paul Perry and Raymond Perry and two sisters: Virgie Myers and Margaret Martin. John W. Powell, 70, of Eminence, died Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at Baptist Hospital Northeast, LaGrange. He was the son of the late Albert and Ada Dawkins Powell. Ben Nathan Price, 60, of Wilmington, DL, formerly of Henry County died Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the Delaware Hospital. Survivors include three sisters: Mrs. Clarence Roberts, Eminence, Mrs. Harold Barnett, Jr., and Mrs. Gene Ratcliff, Versailles; five brothers: Harlow Price, Newark, Delaware, Gayle Price and Harold Price, both of Turners Station and Noble Dean Price, Greenwood, IN; step-mother: Mrs. Anna Price, Campbellsburg; two step-sisters: Mrs. Ruby Chism, Clarimont, CA and Mrs. Beulah Campbell, Indianapolis, IN; one step-brother: Orville Lee Kelley, Milton. Funeral arrangements are being made by the Barnett Funeral Home. Due to the tornado friends called at Prewitt�s in New Castle after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. Funeral services were conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday in the Lockport Methodist Church. Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery. Rev. Howard Olds and Rev. Chester Aldridge officiated. Jack Purvis, 73, of Eminence, died Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at his residence. He was a graduate of the Eminence Independent Schools and the University of Kentucky. He taught math for more than 40 years in both the Eminence Independent and Shelby County School Systems. Jack was an Army Veteran and a member of the Eminence Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife: Linda Allnut Purvis, Eminence; two daughters: Leslie Ann Purvis and Brandie Leigh Purvis, both of Eminence; and one brother: Bill Purvis and wife Daina, Eminence. He was preceded in death by his mother: Nellie McCarthy Adams; father: John Purvis and step-father: Raymond Adams.
