Harold Bohannon
Harold Bohannon, 90, of Pleasureville, died Thursday, October 17, 2013, at his residence. He was born in Elmburg, and was the son of the late James �Jim� and Jenny Wylie Bohannon. He was a farmer and parts manager for Pleasureville Supply, a member of the Elmburg Baptist Church for 64 years, a substitute mail carrier and a board member of Southern States. He is survived by his wife of 72 years: Virginia Kesler Bohannon, Pleasureville; one son: Billy Bohannon, Elmburg; a daughter-in-law: Judy Bohannon, Bagdad; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Bohannon; six brothers, Leonard, Russell, Ryburn, Lester, David Shelby and Orbin Ray Bohannon; one sister, Viola Faith and a daughter-in-law, Reva Bohannon. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 20 at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Brad Jennings and Rev. Marshall Phillips officiated. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Wendall W. Frazier, 52, of New Castle, died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at his home. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was the son of Wilber �Puge� Frazier, Port Royal and the late Viola Abbott Frazier. He is survived by his wife: Lisa Lynn Frazier, New Castle; two daughters: Amanda Frazier and Christina Limones, both of New Castle; two sons: Joseph Frazier, Warsaw and Steven Frazier, New Castle; two step-daughters: Chassidy Long, New Castle and Allie Long, Eminence; one step-son: Charles �Bubba� Long, New Castle. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 12 at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Daniel Lowry, Pastor of the New Castle First Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in the New Castle Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edwin Higgins, five brothers, Steve, Charlie, Eugene, Chester and Braxton Clayborn, and a sister, Claudia Conger. She is survived by her son: Eric (Lisa) Stull, LaGrange; one sister: Clara (Vernon) Houp, Lexington; two brothers: Clinton (Sylvia) Clayborn, Greenville SC and Don (Janet) Clayborn, Lancaster; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service3s were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 10 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Bro. Harold Clayborn officiated. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Greg Hulak, 66, of Sulphur, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at Baptist Health in Louisville. He was a union representative with Ford Motor Company, a member of the U. S. Army reserves and was the son of the late Samuel M. and Helena A. Johnson Hulak. He is survived by his wife: Bonnie Whelan Hulak, Sulphur; two sons: Devin (Rebecca) Hulak, Sulphur and Dru (Tonya) Hulak, Taylorsville; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Sammy and Zach Hulak. There were no funeral services. Prewitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by three daughters: Kimberly Johnson Owens, Pleasureville, Cindy Johnson, Eminence and Marcy Johnson Yount, Lawrenceburg. A gathering of family and friends was held Tuesday, November 26 at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville.

He was a native of Whitley County, the son of the late William Henry and Mary Smith Jordan, a U. S. Army Veteran of WWII and an employee of General Electric for 30 years. He is survived by two daughters: Anna Louise Watson, Bedford and Charlene Nay, LaGrange; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15 at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Jesse Baxter, Chaplain of the Masonic Home, officiated. Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

He was a native of Danville, a foreman at Celanese Corporation and a member of the Free Gospel Mission Church. He is survived by his wife: Hallie Shartzner Joseph; two daughters: Mary Lou Washburn and Jean Ross; two sons: John and Jim Joseph; seven step-daughters Becky Gibson, Vickie Graham, Carol Jean Gammon, Drenda Probus, Mary Wells, Trenia Higdon and Denise Hughes; four step-sons: Michael and Charles Gibson, Carl Gammon and Thomas W. Probus, Sr.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at noon Saturday, March 24 at the Arch L. Heady and son Funeral Home, Louisville. Interment was in the Louisville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

She is survived by two daughters: Sybil Kelley-Vice, Cynthiana and Raye Vetta Kelly, Brookport, IL; two step-sons: Kenneth Kelley, Pleasureville and Tommy Thomas, Marquette, MI; three sisters: Mary Walker, Carrollton, Ethel Hawkins, Pleasureville and Virginia Mahoney, New Castle; four grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Kelley and step-son, Carroll Kelley. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 25, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. She is survived by two sons: Vernon Woods, Pleasureville and Curtis Woods, Carrollton; one sister: Mary Susie Welch, New Castle; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Vernon R. Woods and Ola Kelly. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 20 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Bro. He is survived by his mother: Clara Smith marc um, Frankfort; two sisters: Viola Harrison, Richmond and Elsie Gilbert, Frankfort; three brothers: Albert J. Knox, Millville, David H. Knox, Frankfort and Johnny W. Anderson, Campbellsburg and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 22 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. The body was cremated with burial in the Joe Miller Cemetery, Jinks.

She was survived by one daughter: Darlene West Taylor, Port Royal; one brother: Harvey Spurr, Franklin, IN; three sisters: Della West, Zionsville, IN, Savannah Jones, Indianapolis, IN and Alene Louden, New Castle; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 19 at Ransdell Funeral Home. Rev. Travis Tyler officiated. Interment was in Bedford IOOF Cemetery.

Leonard Lee Lathrem, Sr., 66, of Frankfort, died Tuesday, October 21, 2003 at the Beverly Health and Rehab of natural causes. He was a native of Lexington, the son of the late Franklin Woodrow and Flora Lucille Sullivan Lathrem, a Veteran of the U. S. Navy, a retired service station attendant at the West Frankfort Shell and a member of the Westview Baptist Church. He is survived by four daughters: Debra Cardwell, Donna Sisk and Kimberly Risinger, all of Frankfort and Patricia Lucille Buckler, Shelbyville; two sons: Leonard Franklin Lathrem and Leonard Lee Lathrem, Jr., both of Frankfort; three step-daughters: Lisa Armstrong, Louisville, Sandra D. Underwood and Loretta Lynn Maddox, both of Shelbyville; one step-son: Glen Underwood, Frankfort; one sister: Ella Louise Palmer, Bethlehem; twenty-six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Larry R. Lyons, 67, of Bethlehem, died Thursday, December 19, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Eminence on February 17, 1946, the son of the late Marszhall Lee Lyons and Eloise Bush Lyons. He was agraduate of Henry County High School and went on to earn a teaching degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond. He retired in 2004 as an Industrial Arts teacher in the Owen County Schools after 31 years of service. He was a member of the Berea Christian Church and proudly served his country in the U. S. Army in the Vietnam War era. He is survived by his wife: Deborah Sue Riley Lyons, Bethlehem; his son: Larry Lynn (Jenny) Lyons, Frankfort; two brothers: Alan Lyons, Richmond, VA and Tommy Lyons, Louisville and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 21, at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, Carrollton.
