Dylan Chase Thurman, 11, of Eminence, died Thursday, June 6, 2013. He recently graduated from the 5th grade at the New Castle Elementary School and attended the Point Pleasant Christian Church. He is survived by his mother: Malinda Thurman, Shelbyville; his father: Jeremy Lane (Danielle) Thurman, Eminence; brother: Jordan bright, Shelbyville; grandparents: Tom and Tami Thurman, Eminence and Sandy and Mike Appleman, Eminence, Harry and Patricia Lyons, Eminence and Alice Peyton, Shelbyville; and his great-grandparents: Betty Turner Thurman, Eminence, Lawrence Peyton, Shelbyville and Charlie and Sue James, Pleasureville. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 9 at the Henry County High School auditorium. Rev. Tammie Lanham, Pastor of the Point Pleasant Christian Church, officiated. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Cody Wayne Tiller, 20, of Bethlehem, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013. He was born in High Point, NC on November 15, 1992. He was a graduate of the Henry County High School and worked as an after-school teacher. He is survived by his mother and step-father: Wendy and William Wilson, Bethlehem; three sisters: Natosha Tiller, Milton, and Taylor Wilson and Madison Wilson, both of Bethlehem; maternal grandparents: Darrell and Kitty Broughton, Pleasureville, and several aunts; uncles; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Earl and Pat Wilson. Funeral services were held on Monday, June 3 at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Larry Gillman officiated. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Paul Ray Vaughn, 60, of Frankfort, formerly of New Castle, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Son of the late Granville and Martha Crawley Vaughn, he retired from hardware sales. He is survived by his daughter: Taylor Vaughn, LaGrange; two step-sons: Scott Johnson and David Turner, Jr., both of LaGrange; two sisters: Sarah Clark, Shelbyville and Peggy (Ronnie) Bryant, Pleasureville; four brothers: Pat (Patti) Vaughn, Pewee Valley, Dennis (Terri) Vaughn, Mark (Lana) Vaughn, and Vincent (Amy) Vaughn, all of New Castle and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Vaughn, nephew, Robbie Bryant and brother-in-law, Kenneth Clark. Funeral services were held a 11:00 a.m. Friday, June14 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Don Waterfill, lead Pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

He is survived by two daughters: Sarah and Leah Wilhoite, Owenton; his mother: Billie Jean Wilhoite; three sisters: Erica Wilhoite, Lockport, Roxanna Redmon, Gratz and Robbie Justice, Kimper; three brothers: Tommy Miles, Wayne Wilhoite and Ricky Wilhoite, all of Owenton. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 7 at Rogers Funeral Home, Owenton. Bro. Don Briscoe officiated. Burial was in the Owenton Cemetery.

He was a native of Louisville, the son of Greg and Barbara Broughton Willard, Eminence, and was a waiter at Our Best Restaurant, Smithfield. He is survived by his parents; three brothers: Stephen Willard, Eminence, Eric Willard, Pleasureville and Michael Willard, Florida; two sisters: Samantha Willard, Frankfort and Melissa Willard, New Castle; maternal grandfather: Andy Broughton, Stanford; maternal grandmother: Onida Hall, Shelbyville; paternal grandfather: A. C. Willard, Loretto; paternal grandmother: Fran Pipkin, Louisville and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Elizabeth Willett, 88, of Carrollton, formerly of Turners Station, died Tuesday, February 19, 2002 at Green Valley Health Care Center. She was a native of Henry County, the daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Arnold Casey, a homemaker and a member of the Turners Station Baptist Church. She is survived by one son: Forest Leon Willett, Maysville; two daughters: Linda Sue Hunter and Donna Johnson, both of Carrollton; one sister: Lelia Faye Branham, Greenville, IN; a half-brother: Charles Casey, Louisville; ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Merrill Willett and one son, Earl Wayne Willett. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 22, at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg. Bro. Travis Laney officiated. Interment was in the English Cemetery.

Jane Willhite, 82, died Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Ethel Radcliffe Willhite, worked for thirty years as a secretary in the Kentucky Attorney General�s office and was a member of the Pleasureville United Methodist Church. She is survived by her sister: Dorothy Wood, Pleasureville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 2 at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Colin Curtis, Pastor of the Pleasureville United Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

He was a native of Shelby County, the son of the late Lee Roy Willhite, owner of Willhite Heating and Cooling and a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife: Fronie Downey Willhite, Eminence; one son: Roy Lee Willhite, Jr., Pleasureville; three daughters: Joan Shinkle, Betty Estes and Ida Bell Downey, all of Pleasureville; his mother: Beulah Harp Willhite Adler, Austin, IN; three brothers: Tommy Willhite, Billy Willhite and Bobby Willhite, all of Indiana; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 16 at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Burial was in the Louisville Memorial Gardens East.

He was the son of the late Ernest and Alma Monroe Willoughby, sr., a native of Louisville and formerly of New Castle. He is survived by two sisters: Nellie Johnson, Bowling Green and Helen Taylor, North Vernon, IN; two brothers: John Willoughby and Charles Willoughby, both of Louisville. Funeral services were held at 11:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 23 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Garry Polston, Pastor of the New Castle United Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Clyde Landon Wills, 81, of Frankfort, died Thursday, May 14, 1998 at his home. He was a native of Henry County, the son of the late Clyde Gano and Bertha Halls Wills, a graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College, received a Masters degree from Eastern Kentucky University. He was owner and editor of the McLean County News from 1946 until 1971. He retired from the Kentucky Cabinet for Human Resources in 1987. For the last 23 years, he has been volunteer publisher of Bluegrass Roots, an internationally circulated journal of the Kentucky Genealogical Society. He is survived by his wife: Illene Blake Wills, Frankfort; six sons: Alvin Lloyd Wills, Merced, CA, Clyde Blake Wills, Metropolis, IL, Robert Landon Wills and Richard Carlisle Wills, both of Shawville, Quebec, Canada, Lawrence Mitchell Wills, Cambridge, MA, and Thomas Chilton Ireland Wills, Chapel Hill, NC; one sister: Mary June Parks, Frankfort; and thirteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson. The body was bequeathed to the University of Kentucky Medical School. A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 23 at the Berry Hill Mansion, Frankfort.

She was a former owner of her restaurant in Kentucky and a member of the Second Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Will and Coare Kiphart Moore. She is survived by her daughter: Jackie Booker, Columbus, In; four sisters: Stella (Peter) Newby and Letha Davis, both of Kentucky, Addie Moore and Elizabeth (James) Harris, Columbus, IN; step-son: Tim Wilson, Columbus, IN; seven nieces and five nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. Wilson. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 16 at Brakes, Weaver and Glick Funeral Home, Columbus, IN. Rev. Larry Rowe and Rev. Robert Jessie officiated. Interment was in the Garland Brook Cemetery, Columbus, IN.

Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Tommy Purvis officiated. Burial was in the Highland Memorial Garden in Mt. Washington.

She is survived by six daughters: Alice Lewis, Ida Grove, IA, Helen (James) Ronan, Buffalo, NY, Patty (Charles) Marvin, Forrestville, NY, Deborah (Frank) Meek, New Castle, Ruth (James Lipcomb, Indianapolis, IN and Marshella Alberson, Fort Wayne, IN; two sons: Milton G. Bressler, Bradenton, FL and Michael Ferguson, Fort Wayne, IN; one step-daughter: Ann (Matt) Stanton Bassett, Fort Wayne, IN; one brother: Lowell Mascher, Red Oak, IA; one step-sister: Joan Proctor, Weldon, IA; two step-brothers: Clarion Heuer, Clarinda, IA and Gerald Heuer, Weldon, IA; fifty-five grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Wojtas. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Cremation followed the service. Rev. She is survived by four daughters: Donna M. Byrd, Bethlehem, Barbara Peak, Raliegh, NC, Vickie (Larry) Winsor, New Bern, NC and Kimberly (Frank) Karaglanis, Louisville; one son: Robert A. Wolf, Jr., Pleasureville; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The body was cremated. A memorial service was held.

Jesse L. Woods, Jr., 69, of Pleasureville, died Saturday, March 16, 2002 at Hospice and Palliative Care, Louisville. He was the son of the late Mary Ellen Robertson and Jesse L. Woods, Sr., a U. S. Army Veteran, a farmer and a member of the Point Pleasant Christian Church. He is survived by three sons: Rickey Gene Woods and Gary Lee Woods, both of Bethlehem and Barry Keith Woods, Pleasureville; one daughter: Kathy Baxter, Port Royal; two sisters: Fay Raisor, Pleasureville and Carol McGuire, Elmburg; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Clements Woods and one daughter, Deborah Lynn Woods. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 19 at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Hayward Yeary, Pastor of the Union Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Marvin D. Woods, 91, of Eminence, died Tuesday, January 30, 2001 at the Masonic Home, Shelbyville. He was a native of Owen County, the son of the late Edward and Maggie Krutchlow Woods, a retired farmer and a member of the Smithfield Christian Church. He is survived by two daughters: Thelma (Lloyd) Roberts and Christine (Harvey) Baxter, both of Smithfield; one son: Ed Woods, Lexington; one sister: Alberta carter, Louisville; one brother: Joe H. Woods, Sidney, Australia; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 2 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Jessie Baxter, Pastor of Henderson House Mission, Shelbyville, officiated. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Richard L. �Tarpin� Woods, Jr., 59, of Louisville, formerly of New Castle, died Sunday, May 13, 2001 at Jewish Hospital, Louisville. He was a native of Henry County, the son of the late Richard L. and Virgie M. Brewer Woods, Sr., a vice president of National City Bank of Kentucky and a member of the Crescent Hill United Methodist Church, Louisville. He is survived by one daughter: Susan Cannon, Louisville; two sons: Richard R. Woods and Steve L. Woods, both of Louisville; two sisters: Earlene Carter and Pearlene Cravens, both of New Castle; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Avon McCoy Woods. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 16 at Crescent Hill United Methodist Church, Louisville. Rev. Jim Seelharst, Pastor of the Crescent Hill United Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.
