Timothy �Tim� Casey, 53, of Pleasureville, died Monday, August 5, 2013, in Louisville. He was the son on the late Robert �Bobby� Casey. He is survived by his mother: Betty Sanford Casey, Eminence. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 8, at Shannon Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Duncan officiated. Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.

Evelyn Croxton, 97, of Eminence, died Sunday, August 25, 2013, in LaGrange. She is survived by her grandsons: Frank Kelly and Dwayne Kelley, both of Shelbyville; granddaughters: Peggy Sue Powell, Sulphur and Christa Helm, Louisville. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 28 at the Eminence Christian Church. Burial was in the Franklinton Cemetery.

Pluma Mae Tarter Gardner, daughter of the Late Robert Lincoln Tarter and Hulda Isabel Garner Tarter, was born in the Faubush Community on March 9, 1919, and died on August 4, 2013, in Somerset, having attained the age of 94 years. She was married to James Bryant Gardner until his death. She also was preceded in death by three brothers: Wilbur O. Tarter, Hobert L. Tarter and William Boyd Tarter; three sisters: Pearlie E. Tarter, Mamie M. Tarter of the Faubush Community and Edna Faye Tarter Burkett of Somerset. She is survived by a daughter: Donna Rae Gardner (Roger B.) Shaffer of Bronston; two grandsons and two great-grandsons. Mae received her B. S. Degree from Eastern Kentucky University, She taught school for more than 40 years in Pulaski, Harrison and Boone Counties. She worked at Wright Aeronautical in Cincinnati, OH during WWII. She was a member of the Cynthiana Baptist Church and the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association. She lived in New Castle before returning to Pulaski County. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 9 in the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. Bro. Clyde Strunk officiated. Burial was in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by one son: Daniel Hunter Gunnell; one daughter: Jessica (Ted) Siegel; three grandchildren; two brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held at noon Friday, August 9 at Middletown Christian Church. Burial was in the Eminence Cemetery. Ratterman Brothers East Louisville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Alvey Hopper, 93, of Frankfort, formerly of Pleasureville, died Thursday, January 3, 2002 at his residence. He was a native of Henry County, the son of the late Thompson and Talitha Willhite Hopper, a farmer and a retired state worker and a member of the Orville Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife: Maude Kelley Hopper, Frankfort; two daughters: Betty Gilbert and Martha Voorhies, both of Frankfort; one sister: Mamie Ransdell, Muncie, IN; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Tom Hall, Westview Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Army Veteran, and the former owner/operator of Arnett�s Garage, Louisville. He is survived by his wife: Susan Cooke Horn, Pendleton; three daughters: Rebecca Burton and Lorrie Lee, both of Louisville and Terri Hicks, Jeffersonville, IN; one son: David A. Horn, Louisville; one brother: James Horn, Finchville; four sisters: Opal Baker and Gladys Palmer, both of Louisville and Juanita Thurman and Wanda Sue Bohannon, both of Shelbyville; thirteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 23 at Arch L. Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange. Rev. Richard S. Martin, South Jefferson Christian Church, and Chaplain Bill Brumbley, Hospice of Louisville, officiated. Burial was in the Valley of Rest Cemetery, LaGrange.

Harry Horn, Jr., 76, of Smithfield, died Saturday, January 26, 2002 at Norton Hospital, Louisville. He was a native of Louisville, the son of the late Minnie Belle Heightchew and Harry L. Horn, Sr., a U. S. Navy Veteran, worked as a bus driver for the Henry County Public Schools and drove a truck for a furniture company and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Louisville. He is survived by his wife: Marilyn Powell Horn, Smithfield; three sons: Jack E. Horn, Shreveport, LA, Rick Horn, Shelbyville and Bruce Horn, Castaic, CA; four daughters: Harriett L. Jaggers, Newport News, VA, and Peggy McFall, Debbie Baker and Cheri Horn, all of Louisville; fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 29 at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg. Bro. Earl Wayne Perry officiated. Interment was in the Resthaven Cemetery, Louisville.

Army Veteran of WWII, a retired carpenter and a member of the Church of Christ, Crestwood. He is survived by one daughter: Rita (James) Louden, Woodward, OK; two sons: Elisha Ray Hoskins, Eminence and John R. Hoskins, San Diego, CA; one sister: Virginia Hoskins Payton, Eminence; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Agnes New Hoskins. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 15, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Sam Roberts, Lexington, IN, officiated. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery with military graveside services.

She was the daughter of the late William and Jessie Floyd Harper, a native of Henry County, a retired supervisor with the Kentucky Department of Libraries and a member of the Buck Run Baptist Church. She is survived by one son: Freddie Hoskins, Frankfort; six daughters: betty Casey and Jessie Lea, both of Waddy, Barbara Booze, Verna Bourne, Margie Wade and Lorena Sams, all of Frankfort; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; eight step-grandchildren and ten step- great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death bu her husband, Elmer B. Hoskins and one son, William Gayle Hoskins. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9 at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel. Dr. Robert Jackson officiated. Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Kenneth L. Houser, 82, of Lake Suzy, FL died Thursday, February 19, 2004 at the Bon Secours St. Joseph Hospital, Port Charlotte, FL. He was a native of Jeffersonville, IN, formerly of Eminence, the son of the late Charles E. and Helen Kehrt Houser, a retired previous owner of Shoppers Mart in Eminence for thirty-five years, a member of the Board of Directors of the Farmers Deposit Bank in Eminence for twenty years and was a member of Souls Harbour Church, Punta Gorda, FL. He is survived by his wife: Joyce Ann Whitehouse Houser, Lake Suzy, FL; six daughters: Judy (Harold) Stivers and Becky Houser, both of Eminence, Vickie (Charlie) Taylor, Pleasureville, Susan (Claude) Brock, LaGrange, Mary Beth (Jamie) Johnson, Bagdad and Jennifer (Tim) Smith, Frankfort; two sons: Greg Houser, Maineville, OH and Mike Houser, Milford, OH; two step-daughters: Charlotte (Dan) Arnold, Mt. Washington and Teresa Moore, Danville; one step-son: Rev. Larry Moore, Mitchelsburg; sixteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dottie Houser. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 24 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Moore, Pastor of the Mitchelsburg Church of God, officiated. Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

She was the daughter of the late Edward and Mable Webster Morris, a retired secretary with the Eminence Independent Schools and a member of the Eminence Christian Church. She is survived by one daughter: Sandra (Kenneth E.) Woodworth, Jr., Lexington; one sister: Esther Jo (John F.) Long, Shelbyville; and one granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Howse. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., December 23 at Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Knight, Pastor of the Church of God, Madisonville, officiated. Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

He was a native of Jefferson County, the son of the late Curtis L. and Henrietta Fischer Hubbard, Sr., a retired salesman at J. C. Bennet Co. and a member of St. Johns Evangelical and Reform Church, Louisville. He is survived by his wife: Betty Carey Hubbard, Pendleton; one daughter: Patricia (Allan) Cooke, Boynton Beach, Fl; one son: Lee Hubbard, Simpson, LA; one step-son: Michael Howard, Irvine; three sisters: Helen Grable, Madison, IN, JoAnn Sheffield, Spring Hill, FL and Betty (Norman) Busch, Louisville; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Terrye Williams, Pastor of the Eminence Christian Church, officiated. The body was cremated.

Army Veteran of WWII, a lifetime member of the Frankfort VFW Post, the son of the late Ottis Joseph and Mattie Stella Payton Hughes and a member of the Grub Ridge Christian Church. He is survived by one daughter: LaNoma Banks, Frankfort; two sons: Michael Gene Hughes, Pleasureville and Kenneth Thomas Hughes, Eminence; one half-brother: Bernard Charles Hughes, Corydon, IN; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Belle Chisholm Hughes, four brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 3, at Sholar Funeral home, Pleasureville. Rev. John Underwood officiated. Interment with military honors was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

A native of Pleasureville, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Anna Beutel Carter. She was a homemaker, and farmer. Zola was a member of the New Castle Christian Church and had been attending the First Christian Church in Shelbyville. She was preceded in death by Percy Kephart, her husband of 70 years, one brother: K. E. Carter, Sr. and two nephews. Survivors include her daughter: Laine Kephart, Shelbyville; five nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 9 at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Dr. David Charlton officiated. Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

She was united with the Methodist Church in Hardins Bottom soon after her marriage. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the New Castle Methodist Church. Rev. Smith Gilmore officiated, assisted by Rev. P. C. Long and Rev. Harold Dorsey. Burial was in the New Castle Cemetery. She is survived by her husband: Seldon S. Mason; three daughters: Fannie Nooe, Shepherdsville, Mrs. Cecil Rankin, Newport and Mrs. Fred Hambrick, Cincinnati; three sons: Dennis Mason, New Castle, Willard Mason, California, KY and Roud Mason, Bellevue.

She is survived by two daughters: Frances Katherine Strauss, Mill Valley and Marianne Swanson, Portland, Oregon. There was a memorial service in Mill Valley and the remains were returned to Kentucky for interment in the Eminence Cemetery.

She was a member of the Beechmont Presbyterian Church and a retired employee of the Jefferson County Welfare Department. She is survived by her husband: Albert W. McIlvaine; a daughter: Mrs. Elwood R. Stultz and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Emerson Funeral Home, Louisville. The body was cremated.

He was the son of the late Theodore �Ted� and Opal Betzer Peyton, a United States Marine Corps Veteran, a chiropractor and a member of the Shelby Christian Church. He is survived by his wife: Carol Peyton; three sons: Curtis Lee Peyton, Eminence, Clinton Ray Peyton, Dayton, OH and Christopher Alan Peyton, U. S. Air Forced; one daughter: Cara Renee Puckett, Shelbyville; one sister: Sally Sherman, Walker, Iowa; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 6 at the Henry Christian Church. Rev. Kenneth Shouse and Rev. Nick Coleman officiated. Cremated followed the service. The Webb Funeral Home, Shelbyville, was in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife: Ethel Marcella Broughton Popp, Orlando, FL; one daughter: Tina Ann Eldridge, Orlando; one son: William Joseph Popp, Shelbyville; his mother: Charity Ethel McDole, Sulphur; three step-daughters: Teresa Jean Melton, Vanessa Marie Bentley and Helen Louise Tingle, all of Orlando; three step-sons: Larry Michael Tingle, Shelbyville and Daniel Lee Tingle and Joseph Michael Melton, both of Orlando; three sisters: Shirley lee McDole, Sulphur, Margie Tilley and Grace Lee Frazier, both of Carrollton; one brother: James Everett Popp, Rockport, IN; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 5 at Tandy-Eckler0Riley Funeral Home, Carrollton. Rev. Delbert Butts officiated. Interment was in the Campbellsburg Cemetery.

He was a truck driver and worked in the agricultural industry. She was the daughter of the late Jesse Jennings and Bertha Lee Richardson Norton and was retired from the former Brunswick Plant in Eminence. She was a member of Campbellsburg Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters: Debbie (Bob) Kofron, Hillsdale, IL and Janis (Steve) Eddington, Frankfort; one sister: Doris Cigliana, Milwaukee, WI; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wirt Powell and son, Bradley Powell. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 2 at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg. Rev. Bert Montgomery, Pastor of the Campbellsburg Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Campbellsburg Masonic Cemetery.

He is survived by his aunt: Mabel Kidwell Powell, Prospect and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Terry Powell. Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 25 at the Sligo Cemetery. Rev. Bradford Laughbinger and Rev. Earl Wayne Perry officiated. Interment was in the Sligo Cemetery.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He was awarded the WWII Victory Ribbon. He is survived by his wife: Betty Jane Powell, New Castle; six children: Eunice Fay Rhoades, Mount Eden, Nancy Marie Hunt, Louisville, Janie Alice Craven, Valley Station, David Daniel Lockman, Lexington, Mary Marie Lockman, Seattle, WA and Loren P. Powell, Turners Station. Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, at the Turners Station Cemetery. Rev. Earl Wayne Perry officiated. Interment was in the Turners Station Cemetery.

B. and Joe Powell, both of Henry County; two sisters: Juanita Sanders and Marilyn Horn, both of Henry County; one half-brother: David Powell, Berry; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
