Doris Chapman Prather, 77, of Campbellsburg, died Tuesday, November 13, 2001 at Baptist Hospital East, Louisville. She was a native of Versailles, the daughter of the late Virgil Lee and Louisa Williams Chapman, and a member of the Campbellsburg First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband: William T. Prather, Jr., Campbellsburg; one daughter: Lynda (Adolfo) Gerding, Louisville; one son: William T. Prather III, Owenton; one sister: Mary Lyle (Harry) Hartley, Versailles; one brother: William H. Chapman, Versailles and one granddaughter. Funeral services were held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 15, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Russell Winn, Pastor of the Campbellsburg First Baptist Church, officiated. Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 16 at the Rose Crest Cemetery, Versailles.

She was the daughter of the late Arthur G. and Sarah Walker Stewart and a member of the New Castle First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband: Rex Prather, New Castle; two daughters: Sarah Martin (Tom) Haydon, Troy, OH and Marty(David) Stahl, new Castle; two sons: Stewart Lang Prather, Louisville and Don Prather, Shelbyville; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Dr. David Charlton, Pastor of the New Castle First Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Raymond R. Preston, 74, of New Castle, died Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at Jewish Hospital, Shelbyville. He was the son of the late Stanley Washington and Bertha Washer Preston, a farmer, and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, Lexington, IN. He is survived by five daughters: Mona Arlene Preston, Virginia Elaine Preston all of New Castle, Patricia Diane Preston and Martha Mae Preston, both of Madison, IN. one brother: Alvin Cortland Preston, Erie, PA; forty one grandchildren, seventy seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Downey and a son, Donald Preston Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm Friday, May 21, at the Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Nick Coleman, Associate Pastor of the Henry Christian Church, officiated. Interment was in the Franklinton Cemetery.

Billy Prewitt, Jr., 63, of New Castle died Tuesday July 27, 2004 in New Castle from a car accident. He was a funeral director for forty years, former Henry County Coroner for seven years, deputy coroner for twelve years, served in the U. S. Army National Guard for six years, was a member of the new Castle Lions Club and a member of the New Castle Christian Church. He is survived by his wife: Betty Ogden Prewitt, New Castle; one daughter: JoRene Prewitt Burns, Eminence; one son: Guy (Lisa) Prewitt, Port Royal; his parents: Bill and Josephine Prewitt, New Castle; three sisters: Nancy (Richard) Stephens, Port Loudlow, WA, Kay (Chuck) Ledbetter, Charlestown, IN and Gay Prewitt, New Castle; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 30 at the Henry Christian Church. Rev. Michael Duncan, Pastor of the Eminence Baptist Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Nick Coleman, Rev. Carl Rucker, Dr. David Charlton and Rev. Robert Fields. Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

George Clayton Puckett, 86, of Smithfield, formerly of Louisville, died Saturday, April 4, 1998 at Suburban Hospital, Louisville. He was a native of Hart County, the son of the late William Wesley and Rose Waddell Puckett, a retired butcher at Armour Meat Packing Company, Louisville, for thirty-three years, and a member of the Smithfield Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife: Opal Bolton Puckett, Smithfield; four daughters: Lataine (Kenneth) Basham and Joyce (Jack) Roberson, both of Louisville, Wanda (Bubby) Roberts and Irene (Allen) Smith, both of Smithfield; two sisters: Claudia (Charles) Lively, Horse Cave and Maudie Pulliam, Louisville; twelve grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 6 at the Smithfield Baptist Church. Rev. She was a native of Port Royal, the daughter of the late Elton and Bertha Sanders Jones, a twenty-seven year employee of the Department of Human Resources, Bureau of Social Services and a member of the Eastern Star and the Campbellsburg Baptist Church. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Courtland Pyles. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19 at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg. Burial was in the Campbellsburg Masonic Cemetery.

A native of Oldham County, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Pearl Demply Nowlin, a retired beautician and a member of the Eminence Baptist Church. She is survived by her brother: Marshall Nowlin, Pendleton and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Quire. He is survived by his wife: Marjorie Rabourn, Turners Station; two daughters: Joyce Walker and Judy (Steve) Maiden, Turners Station; three sons: Robby (Sue) Rabourn, Campbellsburg, Larry (April) Rabourn and Gary Rabourn, all of Turners Station; two sisters: Gladys Schaeffer, Glencoe and Grace May, Napolean, OH; two brothers: J. R. Rabourn, Bedford and David Rabourn, Turners Station; fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Myers and Jewell Kidwell. He is survived by his wife: Goldene Rains, Eminence; three daughters: Carol Yager, Canfield, OH, Nancy Mooney, Eminence and Mary Lee Bryant, Bowling Green; one brother: Theodore Conrad Rains, South Carolina; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Patricia �Patty� Gayle Chisholm Rainwater, 57, of Defoe, died July 20, 2013 at the U of K Chandler Hospital in Lexington after an extended illness. Patty was the daughter of the late John and Phyllis Aldridge Chisholm. She was born in Henry County and retired from the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Unemployment Insurance. She was an active member of the Union Baptist Church and worked for the Henry County Public Schools as a teacher�s aide. Patty is survived by her husband: Dave Rainwater, Defoe; two daughters: Kim (Todd) Moore and Kacy Holmes, all of Defoe; one son: Phillip (Aimee) Rainwater, Paris; three sisters: Connie (David) Taylor, New Castle, Paula Lynn (Bill) Adams, New Castle, and Carol (Richard) Coombs, Jericho; two brothers: Lonnie (Donna) Chisholm, Cropper and Darrell (Sandy) Chisholm, Eminence; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by four brothers: Everett Spencer and Charles Spencer, both of Louisville, Don Spencer, Centerfield and James Spencer, Schertz, TX; three sisters: Emma Jean Coates, Munfordville, Elanor Wiseman and Carrie Brown, both of Louisville; and one niece. She is survived by five sons: Reuben, Phillip, Gary, Charles V. and William Raisor; two daughters: Sheila Bartle and Sharon Hill; two foster sons: Tommy Farmer and Charles �Buddy� Nichols; one sister: Malissa Johnson; sixteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband: Jim Raisor, Pleasureville; three sons: Nathan Hoffman, Pleasureville, William Payton, Pendleton and James Payton, Pleasureville; three daughters: Clara Yeager, Shelbyville, Carol Ann Payton, LaGrange and Vicky Hansel, Louisville. Graveside services and burial were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 17 at the Point Pleasant Cemetery. Rev. Jacky Newton and Steven Douglas officiated. Arrangements were by the Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville.

Beulah Marie Ramsey, 81, of Venice, FL, formerly of Henry County, died Sunday, February 22, 2009. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church, Venice and the Venice Bible Church. She is survived by her son: Gary Ramsey, Lake Station, IN; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Webb Ramsey and two sons, Stephan and Michael Ramsey. Interment was in Sulphur. Farley Funeral Home, Venice, was in charge of arrangements.

Jewell Annette Ramsey, 71, of Bedford, died Thursday, April 3, 2008, at King�s Daughter�s Hospital in Madison, IN. She was the daughter of the late Kermit and Hazel Hopkins Edens. She is survived by her husband: Andy Ramsey, Bedford; two sons: Larry (Carolyn) Ramsey, Pendleton and Rave (Cindy) Ramsey, Madison, IN; one daughter: Carolyn (Joe) Colbert, Georgetown, IN; two brothers: Boyce Edens, Milton and Darrell Edens, Campbellsburg; five sisters: Lois Suter and Kay Owens, both of New Castle; Nadine Suter, New Haven, Carol Westrick, Milton and Barbara Woods, Eminence; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 7 at Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford. Rev. Nick Coleman officiated. Interment was in the Bedford I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

She is survived by her grandparents: Marbe Bogosta, Beverly Hills, FL, Reed and Wanda Riley, Sulphur, Cleston and Debbie Randall, New Castle and Rita Chansellor, Loveland, OH; great-grandparents: Mary Jane Riley, Campbellsburg, Denny and Betty Wood, Crystal river, FL, Everett and Jeanne Embs, Bedford, Charles and Diana Whitehouse, Sarasota, FL, Dorothy Woods, Stamping Ground and Marie Wilder, Loveland, OH. A graveside service was held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 29, at the New Castle Cemetery. Rev. Roy Lillpop, Pastor of the Sulphur Baptist Church, officiated. Prewitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Gertie Roberts departed this life at her home near Lockport on February 16, 1912. She was truly a good woman with a sweet disposition, having a smile and a pleasant word for everyone she knew. Besides her husband, Mr. Joe Roberts, she leaves children to mourn her loss, the oldest being but eleven years old. An aged father, four sisters and one brother also survive. The remains were interred in the family enclosure on the day following her death.

Florence Capito Roberts, 39, of Bethlehem who was seriously injured in a car-truck crash near Smithfield on Monday, April 3, died Sunday at the Shelbyville Hospital. Her husband, Lloyd Roberts and Mrs. Bayne Sewell the other occupants of care were killed almost instantly. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Bethlehem Methodist Church. Rev. Giles Kirkland officiated. Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery. She is survived by two daughters: Eloise Roberts and Marcella Roberts; one son: Hollis Roberts; five sisters: Mrs. Earl Mahoney, Mrs. E. C. Davidson, Mrs. Edward Aspatore, Mrs. Jack McNutt and Mrs. Delbert Butts, all of Louisville and two brothers: John E. Capito, Augusta and Charles Capito, Louisville.

Millie Roberts, widow of James Roberts, died in Louisville, at Norton Infirmary, Wednesday evening, January 4, 1911, after an illness of several weeks. She leaves six devoted children, all of whom were with her when she died. Her remains were taken back to Bardwell. Thus has passed a good Christian woman, universally loved.

Tragedy under very pathetic circumstances occurred in the Franklinton precinct Wednesday evening as the sun was setting. Will Roberts, a well-known farmer, 32 years old on the fourth day of last March, ended his life with a shotgun. The funeral was held at the Franklin ton Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rev. J. C. Canipe officiated. The surviving members of the family are the wife and four children � three sons and a daughter, ages 3 to 10 years. He leaves two brothers: Ed and George Roberts and five sisters. L. D. Roberts, commonly called Dow Roberts is the father.

Bro. Ed Berry, Pastor of the Henry Christian Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Nick Coleman. Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.
