Janice Mullinax Shroyer, 63, of Eminence, beloved wife of Tom Shroyer, died Monday, September 9, 2013. In addition to her husband, she leaves behind her mother: Nell Mullinax, Eminence; her sisters: Kay (Jim) Bennett, Eminence and Wanda (Tex) Selph, Waddy; brother: Gary (Renee) Mullinax, Canton, NC; sons: Wes (Carrie McGowan) Fulton, Spring Hill, FL, Brad Fulton, Huntsville, AL and Scott (Sandie) Shroyer; daughter: Debra (Troy Blakely) Wyman, both of Louisville, four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Mullinax. Janice chose cremation and a private memorial service. Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville was in charge of arrangements.

Alfred P. Shuck, 80, of Campbellsburg, died Monday, August 2, 2004 at his residence. He was a retired employee of the Kentucky State Reformatory for thirty-one years and the son of the late Jesse and Mable Robertson Shuck. He is survived by one brother: Joe Shuck, Pendleton and several nieces and nephews. A private memorial service was held. Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

James Singleton, 71, of New Castle, died suddenly on Saturday, September 17 at the Baptist East Hospital, Louisville. He was a farmer and a member of the New Castle Christian Church. He is survived by one daughter: Sue (Edward) Zachari, Anchorage; one son: Larry Singleton, New Castle; two sisters: Mrs. Jessie Orem, Campbellsburg and Mary (Robert) Thomas, Louisville; three brothers: Ralph Singleton and Leon Singleton, New Castle and Leonard Singleton, Eminence and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 19, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Barclay Brown, Pastor of the New Castle United Methodist Church, officiated, assisted by Dr. James Baughman, Pastor of the Middletown Christian Church. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Vernon �Nernie Dale� Temple, 68, of New Castle, died Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Baptist Health, LaGrange. He was the son of the late Clarence and Sarah Carson Temple. He is survived by his wife: Rhonda Patrice Temple, New Castle; one daughter: Lori Lynn Temple, Prestonsburg; and two sons: Jeffrey Johnson, Clarksville, TN and Michael Whitely, Munfordville. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 12 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Pastor Michael Gene Temple, of Bedford, officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Milton.

Cora Pauline Theobald, 93, of New Castle, died Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Homestead Nursing Center, New Castle. Daughter of the late Cassius and Ophia Clark Sipes, she was a native of Indiana and a member of the Eminence United Pentecostal Church. She is survived by two daughters: Nancy (Louis) Edday, Eminence and Carol (Harold) Clemans, St. Peters, MO; one son: Rev. David (Regina) Theobald, Discovery Bay, CA; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond G. Theobald. A memorial graveside service was held in Stockton, CA. Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was a homemaker, a member of the Hazard Baptist Church and the daughter of the late John and Viola Johnson Coombs. She is survived by three sons: Rick Thomas, Smithfield, Charles Ray Thomas, Indianapolis, IN and Bill Thomas, Shelbyville; four daughters: Jane (Nelson) Holbrook, Campbellsburg, Margie Thomas, LaGrange, Alma Jean Thomas, Pendleton and Judy Ann (Roger) Ring, Indianapolis, IN; twelve great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas, one son, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 16 at Ransdell Funeral Home, Eminence. Rev. Michael Duncan and Rev. Diane Reistroffer officiated. Interment was in the Smithfield Cemetery.

Beulah Lee Thomas, 69, of Bethlehem, died Saturday, December 30, 2006 in Louisville. She was a press operator for H.K. Porter in Frankfort, a member of the Highland Baptist Church and the daughter of the late Omer and Lizzie Willhite Harp. She is survived by her husband: John Thomas, Shelbyville; one daughter: Donna (Eddie) Kingsolver, Shelbyville; three brothers: James �Buddy� Harp, Pleasureville, Jimmy Harp, New Castle and Pete Harp, Smithfield; five sisters: Maudie Harlow and Mary Driver, both of Bagdad, Dora Elizabeth Shaw, Covington, Elaine Boler and Barbara K. Clestino, both of Henry County; two step-daughters: Vicki McGlong and Brenda Thomas, both of Louisville; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and one grandson. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 3 at Shannon Funeral Home, Revs. Bill George and Gary Ellessor officiated.

Helena Bryant Thomas, 92, of Louisville, formerly of Eminence, died Sunday, March 25, 2001 at Brownsboro Hills Nursing Home, Louisville. She was the daughter of the late R.L. and Belle Mills Bryant, a graduate of Eminence in 1928, a homemaker and a member of the Eminence Baptist Church. She is survived by several nieces qand nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Spencer Thomas. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 27 at the sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Larry Gardner officiated, assisted by Bobby Moore. Burial was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Irene Flack Thomas, 99, died August 19, 2005 at the Wesley Commons care Center, Greenwood, SC. Born in 1906 in Indianapolis, IN, she lived in Lockport for 65 years, and in Versailles. She is survived by her son Gerry; daughter-in-law Phyllis; three grandchildren; and brothers: Ralph Flack and John Flack. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Loteef. A son, Robert (Bobby) Thomas, USMC, was killed in the Battle of Iwo Jima in 1945. Grandson Philip Thomas and great-grandson Clark Thomas Lamping Also preceded her in death. She was the oldest of eight children of Nell and William Flack, natives of Henry County. She came to Henry County in 1923 to teach school, and taught for several years in a one-room school in Hardin�s Bottom, and later at the Lockport Elementary. A memorial services to celebrate her life was held at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home, August 25 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Harold Dorsey officiated. Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

James C. �J.C.� Thomas, 53, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, previousl of Eminence, passed away at his home on October 7, 2003. He retired from Steel Technologies, Louisville in March 2002 after 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by one son: James Robert Thomas. He is survived by his wife: Brenda T. Thomas, Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter: Kena Lynn Thomas, Eminence; one grandson: James Mason Thomas, Eminence; parents: Robert and Geneva Thomas, Morristown, TN; and a sister: Sue (James) Taylor, Morristown, TN. A celebration of life memorial service was held at the Eminence Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m., November 1. Rev. Michael Duncan officiated. Arrangements were made by the Cremation Center of Charleston.

Jessie Carroll Thomas, 84, Frankfort, formerly of Carrollton, died Monday, January 7, 2002 at Frankfort Regional Hospital. She was a native of Henry County, the daughter of the late Anthony William and Annie Nancy Raisor Kopp, retired from the Kentucky Department of Social Services and a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Frankfort. She is survived by one daughter: Martha Marlette, Frankfort; four sisters: Pauline Blankenship, LaGrange, Edith Herndon, Metiarie, LA, Jean Ratlief, Orange, VA and Faye Arvin, Madison, IN; two grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. A mass of Christian burial was held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 10, at St. John Catholic Church, Carrollton. Rev. Michael D. Barth officiated. Cremation was chosen.

John J. Thomas died Saturday, February 24, at his home in Batavia, OH. �Jack� as he was known in Henry County, moved to Batavia in 1911. For the past 30 years he served as janitor of the Clermont County Courthouse. Besides his wife, Fannie Fields Thomas, he is survived by a sister: Catherine Demint, Campbellsburg; and a foster daughter: Mrs. Osmar Kennedy, Batavia. Funeral services were conducted at the Moore Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 27, with the Eastern Star and Scottish Rite Masons in charge. Burial was in Batavia.

Anna Mae Anderson Thompson, 91, of Shelbyville, formerly of Defoe, died Friday, December 21, 2007, at the Masonic Home in Shelbyville. She was the daughter of the late James Stewart and Laura Stivers Anderson, a member of the Elmburg Baptist Church and a homemaker. She is survived by one daughter: Judy Thompson Bohannon, Bagdad; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one niece. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Thompson and one brother, Herbert Anderson. Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, December 23 at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Jesse Baxter officiated. Interment was in the Defoe Cemetery.

Army Veteran of WWII, a retired meat packer for Armour and a member of the Van Buren Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife: Jorine Bryant Thompson; five children: Robin Lyons, Terry Raisor, Dennis Thompson, Mark Thompson and Keith Thompson; one sister: Loretta Jacobs; two brothers: Albert Thompson, Jr. and Donald Thompson; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was precede in death by his first wife, Eva Thompson and a son, James Thompson.

He was the son of the late Edmond Gilbert and Frances Morgan Thompson, a retired produce manager for the old A & P Food Store of Shelbyville, a member of the Eminence Baptist Church and an attendee of the Clayvillage Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife: Mildred Tatum Ritter Thompson, Shelbyville; one daughter: Carla Gravett Shelbyville; one sister: Phyllis Kurz, Louisville; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Richard Allen Threet, Sr. He is survived by his wife: Belynda Threet, New Castle; two sons: Richard Allen Threet, III and James Loren Three, both of New Castle; mother: Geraldine Talbert and husband, Bill, of New Castle. He was a native of Hazard, the son of the late George and Bessie Justice Thurman, a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, a retired employee of Ohio Valley Aluminum and a member of the Eminence Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife: Martha Pettit Thurman, Eminence; one son: Robert Wayne Thurman, Eminence; one daughter: Joyce Thurman Snook, Smithfield; two sisters: Catherine Martin, Shelbyville and Aileen Mikesell, Milton; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 12, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Michael Duncan, Pastor of the Eminence Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in the Eminence Cemetery with military honors.

She was the oldest member of the Pleasureville Christian Church, where she taught Sunday School and played the piano. She was a retired school teacher. She is survived by one son: William H. Hinkle, Lexington; six grandchildren and one great-grandson. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 2 at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Randy McCafferty, Pleasureville Christian Church, officiated. Burial was in the Eminence Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Hedges, Sr., one daughter, Alyce Hedges Stoess, three sisters, Ella Lewis, Helen Harp and Ada Raisor and one brother, Frank Richardson. A memorial service was held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 12 at the United Pentecostal Church of Eminence. Rev. Mark Huba officiated. Interment was in the Louisville Memorial Garden East in Crestwood.

He is survived by his wife: Lucille Gabhart Tindall, Campbellsburg; two daughters: Judy (Jackie) Scriber, New Castle and Iva (Steve) Woods, Smithfield; one son: Ralph Glenn Tindall, Campbellsburg; one sister: Susie (Marshall) Haydon, Shelbyville; one brother: C. She was a native of Carroll County, the daughter of the late Clinton and Cecil Beckman Jones and a member of the Carrollton Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter: Tammie (John) Booth, Carrollton; one son: Robert Eugene Tingle, Port Royal and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 15 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. L. D. Payton, of Indianapolis, IN, officiated, assisted by Rev. Ron Laughlin, Pastor of the Port Royal United Methodist Church. Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

R. Lamar Tingle, 24, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Tingle, died Thursday evening, September 22, 1921 of paralysis. He was confined to his bed only three days; in fact, he attended Sunday School on Sunday. Lamar was a splendid and very promising young man, having a fine mind and being pleasant and popular. He was well read and had much useful information. Withal, he was firm in his convictions which he arrived at after mature thought. In religion he was a Methodist � earnest, consistent and faithful. True American he was and was patriotic in every fiber of his being. He served very honorably in the late war (WWI) � in the aerial service. Brave, nervy, noble young man he was with the highest sense of duty to country and to fellow beings. His death was a terrific shock, not only to his relatives and friends, coming so suddenly, but to all acquaintances. No one was in the least prepared for the sad event; but the young and the middle-aged die as well as the old, and it therefore behooves every one to be prepared at every hour to meet the final sad summons. Besides his devoted and almost idolizing parents he leaves one sister, Mrs. Richard Adcock and two brothers, Clifton and Nelson Tingle to mourn his death. After funeral services by his pastor, Rev. Mr. Waggoner, on Saturday, the body was buried with military honors in the cemetery at this place (Turners Station).

Joseph Chester Turner, 70, of Shelbyville, died on November 17, 1951 at the Kentucky Baptist Hospital of a blood-stream infection. He was a native of Henry County, but spent most of his life in Shelbyville. At one time he was active in the tobacco business and real estate in Louisville, but in later years had an insurance agency in Shelbyville. He is survived by his wife, the former Mason Cozine; a daughter: Mrs. Lisle Baker, Jr., Louisville; two sisters: Mrs. George T. Browder and Mrs. Eda T. Willson, both of Louisville and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., November 19 at Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville.

O. D. turner, 93, of New Castle, died at 8:40 a.m., January 7, 1976 at the homestead Nursing Center, New Castle. He was born near Port Royal on May 17, 1882 and lived in Henry County his entire life. He served as Henry County Circuit Clerk from 1916 to 1940, as Master Commissioner of the Henry Circuit Court, as Henry County judge Pro-Tem for 18 years and Henry County Judge for 4 years. He served as a Director of Citizens Bank for 46 years during which time he was Secretary of the bank for 40 years. He was an active member of the New Castle Methodist Church for 71 years. His tenor voice in the choir of that church was of considerable renown. He was a 61 year Mason and a member of the Simpson Masonic Lodge of New Castle. He is survived by his wife: Alyene Turner; A brother: E. H. Grimes, Sr., Louisville; a sister-in-law: Anna L. Turner, Louisville; a nephew: G. L. turner, Louisville; a niece: Elizabeth turner, Dayton, OH; and a niece: Justine Settle, Nashville, TN and a step-daughter: Clara Lee Kyle, Covington. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Prewitt�s New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Earl Curry, Pastor of the Morehead Methodist Church, officiated, and Rev. Fred Coburn, Pastor of the New Castle Methodist Church, assisted. Burial was in the New Castle Cemetery.

John T. Watson, 80, of Eminence, died Thursday, August 22, 2013, in Shelby County. He was born in Waddy and was the son of the late Chester B. Watson and Willie Addie Miller Watson. He was a carpenter and a farmer. He is survived by his companion: Elnora McAllister, Eminence; three sons: Gary Thomas Watson, Bagdad, Richard Lynn Watson, Mt. Eden and Terry Scott Watson, Eminence; one daughter: Rebecca (Eric) Redenbaugh, Shelbyville; one brother: Kenneth Watson, Colorado Springs, CO; three sisters: Sue Parson, Carrollton, Daisy Perry, Lawrenceburg and Joan LeCompte, Shelbyville; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Shouse. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 26 at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Ted Shouse officiated. Interment was in the Cropper Cemetery.

She is survived by her children: Bill Willis, Vancouver, WA, Robert Willis, New Albany, IN, Eddie Willis, Shepherdsville, Rita Brown, Campbellsburg and Barbara Garrett, Burlington. Funeral services were held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 28 at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg. Rev. Shawn Golden officiated. Interment was in the Turners Station Cemetery.

James Thomas Winburn, 62, of Eminence, died Thursday, August 22, 2013, at his residence. He was born in Carrollton and was the son of the late Jeff D. Winburn and Alma Mae Hutchason Winburn. He is survived by one brother: Bobby Winburn, Eminence; and two sisters: Anna Mae Woods, Eminence and Rosetta Robinson, Bedford. A memorial gathering was held at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Cremation was chosen.

He was formerly employed as a salesman with Cook�s True Value Hardware in Eminence. He is survived by one son: Christopher Wright, Turners Station; his mother: Elizabeth Sharp Wright, Turners Station; two sisters: Marcia Whitworth, LaGrange and Kathy McAlister, Smithfield; one brother: Anthony L. (Jeannie) Wright, Campbellsburg and fianc�e: Deborah Deskins, Eminence. Melvyn was preceded in death by his father, Melvyn Carroll Wright, Sr. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 11 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev.
