Emma Gene Akers, 85, of Pleasureville, died Thursday, February 19, 2009, at Baptist Hospital Northeast. She was a member of Henry Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband: Lester L. Akers. She was preceded in death by her son: Dennis Akers.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 23rd at Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange. Entombment was at Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Rev. Ed Berry and Rev. Nick Coleman officiated.

Barbara Payton Aldridge, 75, of Eminence, died Monday, April 9, 2012, at Georgetown Community Hospital. Daughter of the late Luther and Hallie Long Payton, she was a member of the 7th Street Chapel Church in Ft. Meade, MD, and a veteran of the Women�s Army Corps.
She is survived by two sons: Anthony Chase, Georgetown and Bradley Chase, San Diego, CA; two sisters: Martha Peterson, Eminence and Jacqueline Payton, Cottondale, FL; three brothers: Malcolm Payton and Glenn Payton, both of Louisville, and Douglas Payton, Eminence; five grandchildren: Scott and Jeffrey Chase, both of Lexington, Joshua Chase, Georgetown, and Chelsea and Rachael Chase, both of San Diego, CA; She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Chase, second husband, Chester Aldridge, a son, Kenneth Chase III; sister, Ouida Payton and brother, Joseph Payton.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 13th, at Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home. Rev. Ed Berry, Pastor of the Henry Christian Church, officiated. Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Hester Ann Moore Aldridge, 81, of Lockport, died Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late William Leonard and Lizzie Ann Maupin Moore, a farmer, homemaker, factory worker and member of the Gratz Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons: Roy Thomas Aldridge and wife, Carolyn, Pleasureville and Glen Irving Aldridge and wife, Sandra, Lockport; two daughters: Betty Moore and husband, Gayle, Eminence and Brenda Webster and husband, Clyde, Lockport; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Forest Thomas Aldridge; one son: Robert Aldridge; two brothers: D. C. Woods and Isaiah Moore; two sisters: pearl Ayers and Frances Petitt; and one great-grandson.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 8th, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Leon Robinson, Pastor of the United Baptist Church of Gratz and Rev. Paul Briscoe, Pastor of the Lockport Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in Wallace Cemetery.

Katherine Aldridge, 82, of Lockport, died Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late James B. Smith and Martha Newman Downey.
She is survived by one son: Milton Aldridge, Shelbyville; four sisters: Peggy Garrett, Louisville, Virgie Downey, Shirley Roberts and Zelma Hambrick, all of Bedford; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 19th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Earl B. Higgins, Pastor of the Campbellsburg Second Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in Franklinton Cemetery.

Joe Lee Allen, 62, of Bedford, died Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at Baptist Hospital North East in LaGrange. He was the son of the late Hattie Leatherman Cimmins and worked as an attendant at Sunoco Gas Station in Milton and Meese in Madison, IN.
He is survived by several cousins and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Denny Cummins.
Cremantion was chosen and services will be conducted at a later date. Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford, was in charge of arrangements.

Evelyne Aldridge Armstrong, 79, of Elmburg, died Friday, November 24, 2006, at Baptist Hospital Northeast in LaGrange. She was a native of Shelby County and the daughter of the late John Jesse Jack Aldridge and Elizabeth Brown Quire. She was a member of the Elmburg Baptist Church and retired from the Kentucky Parks.
She is survived by her husband: Rollie Armstyrong, Elmburg; two daughters: Glenna Kay Armstrong-Mills, Charlestown, IN and Jennifer Armstrong, Elmburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26th at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Michael Duncan, Hospice Chaplain, officiated. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Lorena Crawford Armstrong, 87, of Eminence, died Saturday, May 16, 1998 at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville. She was a native of Shelby County, the daughter of the late Edward and Bertha Simms Crawford and a member of the First Baptist Church, Eminence.
She is survived by seven daughters: Louise Nichols, LaGrange, Addie Hayden, Gloria Armstrong and Gracie Blackburn, all of Eminence, Mary Mullins, Campbellsburg, Margaret Goodloe and Geraldine Armstrong, both of New Castle; two sons: George Armstrong, Jr. and William Armstrong, both of Eminence; three sisters: Anna Lewis, Anchorage, Dorothy Fields, Eminence and Henretta Henry, Louisville; one brother: George Allen Hayden, Anchorage; thirty-one grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lee Armstrong and a daughter, Patricia Lee Armstrong.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21st, at the First Baptist Church, Eminence. Dr. W. H. Goatley, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Bobby W. Ashby, 81, of Shelbyville, died Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at his residence. He was a dairy and tobacco farmer, a painter, former employee of Growers Tobacco Warehouse, member of the Buffalo Lick Baptist Church, past president of the Bagdad Ruritan Club and son of the late William Len Ashby and Zula Johnson Ashby Burnett.
He is survived by his wife: Barbara Ethington Ashby, Shelbyville; one son: Wayne Ashby and wife, Pam, Shelbyville; two daughters: Sandra McCain and husband, Jon and Myra Phillips and husband, Doug, all of Shelbyville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Gene and Kenneth Ashby.

Bonnie Jean Ayers, 70, of Eminence, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Jewish Hospital, Shelbyville. Daughter of the late Sterling �Jack� T. and Cordilia Frances Sutton Spurr, she retired from Brunswick after 30 years of service and then retired from Walmart. She was a member of the Henry Christian Church.
She is survived by her daughter: Missy Ayers, Eminence; one son: Scott Ayers and wife, Debbie, Eminence; grandson: Frankie Ayers; step-granddaughter: Jessica Dale; two step-great-grandchildren: Abby and Hunter Tuggle. She was preceded in death by six sisters: Jeanette Davis, Margaret Harley, Edith Haberman, Ethel Harley, Mae Dennie, and Shirley Wilhite; and two brothers: Pete and Carl Spurr.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 4th, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. The Rev. Ed Berry, Pastor of the Henry Christian Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Nick Coleman. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughter: Vickie McCubbin and husband, Joel, Roanoke, VA; daughter-in-law: Barbara Dowden Barnett, Lexington; one sister: Louise Simmons, Evansville, IN; six grandchildren: Mark Barnett, Robin Barnett Burton, Jon McCubbin, Molly McCubbin Watson and Matthew McCubbin; and two great-grandchildren: Carson and Graham Barnett. She was the daughter of the late Wilson and Sarah Belle Mitchell Staten, a member of the Eminence United Methodist Church and a secretary for the Shelby County School System.
She is survived by her daughter: Debbie LaCompte, Shelbyville; one son: Brad Roberts, Eminence; three sisters: Brenda McCoun, Martha Ann Powell and Denise King, all of Shelbyville; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Wilburn Roberts and Hillis Batterton.

Howard Anthony Bender, 89, of Smithfield, died Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville. Son of the late Frederick and Maria Puchner Bender, he was born in Austria. He was a WWII U.S. Air Force veteran, an electronic technician for Civil Service and was a member of the Smithfield Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife: Judy McGaughey Bender, Smithfield; one daughter: Cindy Bender-Lucas and husband, Steve, Stockton, NJ; four sons: Richard Bender and wife, Kay, and Gerald Bender all of Springfield, MO, Larry bender, Little Rock, AR and Darrell Bender, New Mexico; one step-daughter: Jacqueline Risser, Shelbyville; two step-sons: Gerald Wolf and wife, Ashley, Shelbyville and Joe Lyons, Taylorsville; seven grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. Frank Bohannon, 75, of Pleasureville, died Friday, March 2, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Jacksonville, the son of the late Gilbert and Lillie Dowden Bohannon.
Mr. Bohannon was a retired dairy farmer and a member of the Elmburg Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

Lora Mae Peyton Booth, 76, of Pleasureville, died Thursday, January 24, 2008, at Homestead Nursing Center in new Castle. She was the daughter of the late James and Mary Blanche Peyton, attended the Grub Ridge Church and was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons: Calvin Booth and Darrell Booth, both of Pleasureville; three daughters: Marcia Abbott, New Castle, Mary Moore and Betty Jones, both of Pleasureville; one brother: Russell Peyton, LaGrange; three sisters: Agnes Downey, Bethlehem, Jewell Salmons, Flordia and Marcella Yount, Cropper; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: James Booth; her son: James L. Merle Brewer was born on October 13, 1931. He died February 11, 2012. He was born in Carroll County to the late Ryland Pratt and Ruth Dawkins Brewer. Merle served his country from 1953-1961 as a corporal in the artillery.
Merle was the owner of Brewer Farm and Home Supply, Inc. He was a member of the Campbellsburg United Methodist Church, American Legion, Campbellsburg Lions Club, Campbellsburg Cemetery Board, Campbellsburg Chamber of Commerce, and the Campbellsburg Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Nancy Brent Brewer. Merle leaves to morn his passing; his wife: Gertie Price Brewer; daughters: Donna Kaye Gosser (Gary), Bonnie Lynn Riebel (George), Merlyne Ann Brewer Radcliff (Mike), James Marie Osborne (Mark); seven grandchildren: Ryan Gosser (Maribeth), Brandon Riebel, Corey Riebel, Melanie Whale (Matt), Jordan Osborne, Wesley Osborne and Samuel Osborne; four great-grandchildren: Ty Whalen, Rylee Whalen, Colton Gosser and Wyatt Gosser; three stepsons: John Radcliff (Shelia), David Radcliff and Taylor Radcliff; two step-great-grandchildren: Kali Radcliff and Valerie Radcliff; two nieces: Sharon Smith (Charles) and Carol Mattingly (Arnold). He was preceded in death by nephew: Emmett Allen Brewer, one adopted son: Darrell Justice and two brothers: Harold Vernon Brewer and Robert Allen Brewer.

She is survived by her sister: Lorena (Jim) Petitt, Eminence; and one brother: D. S. (Norma) Smith, Eminence. She was preceded in death by her husband: Harry browning, and three brothers: Robert T. Smith, Allen J. Smith and Jewell Ray Smith.

She is survived by one son: J. Ray brewer, Pleasureville; one sister: Hazel C. Woods, Pleasureville; five grandchildren; nine great0grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Julian Brewer and one daughter: Donna Garrett.

She was also a member of the Valley Christian Church, Carrollton.
She is survived by her husband: Clayton Bruner; two daughters: Debbie Cauley and husband, Terry, Carrollton and Cheryl Hogan and husband, Jerry, Mt. Home AR; one son: Dale Tingle and wife, Rita, Eminence; one sister: Waunita Warren, Louisville; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Helen Yager, Catherine Yager and Corrine Apple; and two brothers: Bud Yager and Buster Yager.

She attended the Campbellsburg Christian Church, worked for the City of Campbellsburg and the Henry County Water District and was the daughter of the late Harvey and Josie Caldwell Clark.
She is survived by her daughter: Pat head, Campbellsburg; two brothers: Harvey Clark, LaGrange and Ray Clark, Pewee Valley and one sister: Ann Pearigen, LaGrange. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joe Bush and Carl Head and three brothers.
