John Wayne Adams, age 59, of Campbellsburg died Tuesday, September 26, 2006 in Louisville. He was the son of the late William E. and Inez Hancock Adams, a retired pipefitter after 35 years and a member of Local Pipefitter�s Union 522.
He is survived by his wife: Geneva �Jenny� L. Adams, Campbellsburg; two daughters: Mrs. John (Dawn) Suter and Mrs. Brent (Angie) Donner, LaGrange; four sisters: Margie Hale, Atlanta, Georgia, Betty Dollar, Columbus, Georgia, Mrs. Hubert (Marion) Louden, Sr., Louisville and Mrs. Ray (Dorothy) Highfield, Sr., Campbellsburg; one brother: James Adams, Louisville; four grandchildren; loving K-9 companion: Alli and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, William E. Adams, Jr.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 1, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Danny Meredith, Elizabethtown, officiated. Interment was in the Sulphur Cemetery.

Ottie Lee Adams, age 75, of Smithfield, formerly of Jeffersontown, died Thursday, October 5, 2006.
She is survived by her husband: Keith Adams, Smithfield; one son: William Jesse Adams, Fern Creek; two daughters: Alma Lee Mattingly, Arizona and Sharon Ann Townsley, Smithfield; seven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 8, at Foreman Funeral Home, Jeffersontown.

Frances Hopper Bohannon, age 82, of Pleasureville, died Monday, October 9, 2006 at Jewish Hospital, Shelbyville. She was the daughter of the late Theron and Emily Hines Hopper, a secretary and homemaker and a member of the Elmburg Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ryburn N. Bohannon.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 12, at Sholar Funeral Home. Rev. Todd Woodward, Elmbrug Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Lawrence Estill Bramblette, age 74, of Pleasureville, died Monday, October 2, 2006 at VA Hospital in Louisville. He was a Navy Veteran.
He is survived by his wife: Barbara Ann Bramblette, Pleasureville; two sons: Donald Bramblette, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Terry Bramblette, Shelbyville; one daughter: Kathy Bramblette, Pleasureville; one sister: Rosa Morgan, Deltona, Florida; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one nephew. He was preceded in death by one grandson and one brother.
He wishes for his body to be donated to the U of L Science Center School of Medicine.

Chester Crawford, age 89, of LaGrange, died Friday, September 29, 2006, at The Richwood Nursing Center. He was the son of the late Elick and Hallie Stangle Crawford, a farmer and a member of Grace Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sisters: Mary B. Devine, Madison, Indiana and Nancy Ball, Louisville; two brothers: Estill Crawford, Las Vegas, Nevada and Lawrence Crawford, Indianapolis, Indiana and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Mary Warren Crawford, three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Monday, October 2, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Dave Woosley, pastor of Grace Baptist Church, LaGrange, officiated. Burial was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Catherine Lucille Dawson, age 89, of Waddy, died Saturday, October 7, 2006 at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville. She was a native of Henry County, the daughter of the late Robert and Rebecca Adcock Cook, a retired waitress of the Halfway House Restaurant, a caregiver of the elderly and a member of the New Life Baptist Church, Shelbyville.
She is survived by one brother: Edward Cook, Shelbyville; one sister: Lillian Doyle, Shelbyville; and two grandsons: William Thomas Dawson and Robert Wayne Dawson, both of Shelbyville; two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, George Thurston �Tommy� Dawson, Jr. and one grandson.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 9, at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Rev. Bill Brumley officiated. Interment was in the Bagdad Cemetery.

Mrs. Dora Knight Galbreath, 66, died at her home in Harrodsburg, at 4:00 Tuesday morning.
Funeral services were conducted at Harrodsburg at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday with Rev. Bowling officiating. Burial was in the Point Pleasant Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband: Ed Galbreath; one son: Arsheild Galbreath, Danville; and a sister: Miss Mary Belle Knight, Pleasureville.

William Galbreath, 74, Pleasureville, died at 6 a.m. Sunday at the Central State Hospital, Lakeland.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Blanche Heightchew, Gratz and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the grave in the Pleasureville Cemetery. Rev. Roud Shaw officiated.

Mrs. Polly Garbitt, 84 of Lockport, died Sunday, February 7 at the Colonial Hills Nursing Home, Shelbyville. She was formerly of Perry County and a member of the Combs Baptist Church in Combs, Ky.
She is survived by two half-sisters: Mrs. Jim (Mahala) Eversole, Lockport and Mrs. Hanford (Lillie) Smith, Flint Ledge, Michigan; one brother: Res Combs, Pendleton and one half-brother: Jeff Combs, Underwood, Indiana.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 9 from Prewitt�s, New Castle. Dr. Clayton Klingenfus, pastor of the New Castle Christian Church, officiated. Interment was in the Franklinton Cemetery.

Miss Irene Gardner, age 95, passed away Sunday, December 26, 1999 at New Castle, Kentucky. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 1999 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Rick Coleman, pastor of the New Castle Christian Church, officiated. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Mrs. Lillian Bryant Gardner, 71, of Franklinton recently died. The funeral was held on Tuesday, Febraury 13, 1973 at the Franklinton Baptist Church. Thomas Funeral Home, Pleasureville, was in charge of arrangements.

Prentice Mack Gardner, age 75 of Louisville, died Saturday, June 17, 2006, at the Episcopal Church Home. He was a retired line worker for General Electric where he worked for 37 years and a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his son: Robert Gardner; daughter: Mrs. Thomas (Peggy) Kollars; one brother: Rev. Larry Gardner; two sisters: Ella Mae Harrell and Evelyn Farris and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, June 22 at the Franklinton Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Franklinton Cemetery.

Prentice C. Gardner was born January 10, 1892 and peaceably passed away at his home in Franklinton on January 22, 1928 at 10 a.m. It was the ninth day of his illness caused by flu which developed into pneumonia.
He was married to Mary Ethel Bush December 22, 1915 and together they worked, he as a very successful farmer and she as a competent teacher for 12 years and 1 month.
He joined the Franklinton Baptist Church under Rev. Ezell, August 1913 and was baptized in the pool on the farm of his present home.
He was the eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Gardner whose hearts grieve anew as they had given up three children before. He was a private during WWI, the leading member of the Franklinton Woodmen Lodge also an I.O.O.F with membership in the Eminence Lodge. He was a faithful, helpful member in his church and especially in his Sunday School class.
He spent several years on the Bush farm near Gilgal, where his wife taught and during this time his grandmother Malin spent the week days with them assisting with the cooking. In 1920 they moved into the Franklinton home.
Rev. Stith, his pastor, led the last tribute of respect in a very able manner after which the I.O.O.F. took charge of the ceremonies. The Woodmen were conspicuous as pall bearers.

Mrs. Mary Ethel Gardner, 92, of Pleasureville, died Thursday, May 16 at the King�s Daughters Hospital, Shelbyville. She was a retired elementary teacher of the Henry County Schools.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19th at the Thomas Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. John Brand officiated, assisted by Rev. Homer Hecht. Interment was in the Franklinton Cemetery.

Eula Mae Garrett, age 89, of Owensboro, died Thursday, July 15, 2004 at her residence. She was retired from the Owensboro Daviess County Hospital, attended the English Baptist Church and was the daughter of the late Eva Lena Swafford and Marion Griffith.
She is survived by two sons: John Marion Garrett, Campbellsburg and Robert E, Garrett, Owensboro; one daughter: Mrs. John (Lena) Hanlon, Murfreesboro, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 18 at Ransdell Funeral Home in Campbellsburg. Interment was in the English Cemetery.

Mrs. Hettie B. Garrett, 88, of LaGrange, died Sunday, September 8th at her residence. following an illness. Mrs. Garrett was the former Hettie B. Morgan, a native of Trimble County. She was a resident of the Pendleton community for many years prior to making her home in LaGrange, and was a member of the Pendleton Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter: Mrs. Elizabeth Hensley, LaGrange; one son: Andrew Garrett, Pendleton; two sisters: Mrs. Josie Carlisle, Franklin, Indiana and Mrs. Mae Caldwell, Franklin, Indiana; six grandchildren: Mrs. Kenneth (Betty) Brisentine, Prospect, Virginia, Mrs. Charles D. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 12th at the Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange. Rev. Larry Hawkins, pastor of the Pendleton Methodist Church and Rev. Johnnie McDowell, pastor of the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Sligo Cemetery.

Mrs. Paul L. Garrett, Bowling Green, widow of the second president of Western Kentucky State College, died Thursday at City-County Hospital, Bowling Green. Mrs. Garrett, 62, suffered a heart attack last week. She was a native of New Castle, the daughter of the late Harvey and Antoinette Ryland Ellis. She attended New Castle school and Hamilton College.
She and Mrs. Garrett were married in 1921 while he was principal of the New Castle High School. He was superintendent of the Versailles City Schools before becoming president of Western in 1957 (error). He held the presidency until his death in 1955. Mrs. Garrett was landscape architect for Western. Dr. Kelly Thompson who succeeded Dr. Garrett as president, has praised her work as vital in beautifying the hilltop campus.
Survivors include two sons: Paul Ellis Garrett, McLean, Virginia and Ryland Gray Garrett, South Fort Mitchell and three grandchildren. Mrs. A. T. Ellis, Eminence, is a sister-in-law of Mrs. Garrett.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Gerald-Bradley Chapel, with burial in the Fairview Cemetery, Bowling Green.

Ms. Sarah Ford Garrett, 86, of LaGrange, died Saturday, September 7 at the Lyndon Lane Nursing Center, Louisville. She was a native of Trimble County, a former Henry County resident and a member of the DeHaven Memorial Baptist Church, LaGrange. She was the widow of Ben Garrett.
She is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Louise Tiller, Chapmanville, West Virginia, Mrs. Kathryn Moneyhan, Indianapolis, Mrs. Garland Roberts, Crestwood and Miss Elaine Garrett, LaGrange; one son: Lewis A. Garrett, Louisville; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 10 at the Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange. Rev. William E. Day and Rev. A. L. Meacham officiated. Interment was in the Valley of Rest Cemetery, LaGrange.

William Thomas Garvin, age 86, of LaGrange, formerly of Ashland, died Tuesday, March 28, 2000 at The Richwood, LaGrange. He was a native of Ashland, the son of the late Charles and Mamye Coon Garvin and a retired shop supervisor at Clayton and Lambert Manufacturing Company and a member of Valley Masonic Lodge #511.
He is survived by his wife: Pauline D. Blevins Garvin, LaGrange; three sons: William D. Garvin, LaGrange, Paul T. Garvin, Smithfield and Charles D. Garvin, Callahan, Florida; six granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 31, at Arch L. Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange. Paul D. Thompson officiated. Interment was in the Valley of Rest Cemetery, LaGrange.

Mrs. Mary Tipton Gabhart, 78 of Mount Eden, died Sunday, May 22, 1983 at the Homestead Nursing Center, New Castle. She was a member of the Mount Eden Christian Church and a retired cook at the Anderson County High School.
She is survived by one daughter: Mrs. Ralph Tindall, Campbellsburg; one son: Marion Samuel Gabhart, Louisville; one brother: Cecil Tipton, Shelbyville; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday May 24 at the Mount Eden Christian Church. Rev. Claude Waldridge, Rev. Allan Houser and Rev. Roger Winsett officiated. Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.

He is survived by his mother: Velma Wagers, Bedford; two daughters: Michelle Gentry, Pleasureville and Mrs. William (Melissa) Heitzman, Owenton; four sons: Richard Gentry, Jr., Robert Gentry, Johnny Gentry and Billy Gentry, all of Gibsonton, Florida; one sister: Mrs. Butch (Shirley) Conrad, Oxford, Ohio; two brothers: Jack Gentry, New Port Richey, Florida and Ronald Wagers, Bedford; thirteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Maria Gibson, admired colored woman of Pleasureville, died Wednesday at her home. She had helped in many homes in that community and was well-liked. She was the mother of seventeen children, five of whom are living. Her husband, Joe Gibson, also survives. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, the delay due to the arrival of a son who lives in Florida.

Thomas Elwood Gilbert, age 71, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at his residence. He was a plant manager, a member of the First Baptist Church and Solomon�s Lodge # 5, a Kentucky Colonel and a veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife: Charlotte Gilbert, Shelbyville; one daughter: Debra Bohannon, Spencer County; one brother: Clarence Gilbert, Pleasureville; one sister: Barbara Myers, Louisville; two step-daughters: Susan Menkes, Newport Beach, California and Terry Delker, Fairhope, Alabama; one step-son: Thomas Wright, Jr., Shelby County and two grandsons.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 6 at 11 a.m. at Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Rev. Vernon Huber, Shelby Christian Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Brady Victor. Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.

William Fairleigh Giltner, 67, of Eminence Road, died Monday, April 10, 1995 at his residence after an illness. He was a native of Shelby County, the son of the late Robert Marion and Helen Fairleigh Giltner.
He is survived by his wife: Carolyn Arnold Giltner, Eminence; two daughters: June Giltner Greenwell, Lexington and Carol Leigh Giltner, Austin, Texas; two sons: Robert Carleton Giltner, Shelby County and William Fairleigh Giltner, Jr., Louisville; five grandchildren: Stephanie Ann Greenwell, Lexington, Elizabeth Pate Giltner, Robert Carleton Giltner, Jr., and John Miller Giltner, all of Shelby County and Zachary William Giltner, Louisville.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Eminence Christian Church officiated by Rev, John Trager and assisted by Rev. Tom Page. Burial will be in the Eminence Cemetery. Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Henry J. Gividen, 62, merchant at Sulphur, died at St. Joseph�s Infirmary, Louisville, Tuesday morning. Death was attributed to complications.
Funeral services were conducted at the Sulphur Christian Church at 2 p.m., Thursday, with Rev. J. T. Highfield officiating. Burial was in the Sulphur Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nora Gatewood Gividen and a nephew Mason Gividen, both of Sulphur.

John Atherton Gividen, 57, formerly of Louisville, died Tuesday, October 16th in Radcliff. He was a native of New Castle, a retired Army Sergeant and a civil service employee. He was past Master of the Vine Grove Masonic Lodge #603, the past Worthy Patron of the Vine Grove Chapter 121 of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Riasok Shrine in Elizabethtown and Kosair Shrine.
He is survived by his wife, the former Liesolotte Kundner; four sons: Daniel Gividen, Vine Grovve, Roy Gividen, Lexington, David Gividen, Orlando, Florida and John Gividen, Jr.; two daughters: Kitty Beaty, Newport News, Virginia and Linda Cox, Elizabethtown; one brother: Roy W. Gividen; two sisters: Eloise Geesaman, Mountain View, California and Dorothy Herren, Los Angeles, California and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held October 18th at the Nelson Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff. Interment was in the North Hardin Memorial Gardens in Radcliff.

She is survived by one daughter: Mrs. Paul (Gwen) Burrows, Pendleton; two sons: Tommy Gividen, Sulphur and Jack Gividen, Brooksville; one brother: Clyde Joseph, Louisville; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be today (Wednesday, December 23) at 2 p.m. at Prewitt Funeral Home, New Castle. Rev. Nick Coleman, Pastor of the Children of the King Church, Bedford, will officiate. Interment will be in the Sulphur Cemetery.

Roy Palmer Gividen, 68, farmer of near New Castle, died unexpectedly at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home. A native of Henry County, he was a son of the late Thomas W. and Eva McManis Gividen. He was a member of the New Castle Methodist Church and the Simpson Masonic Lodge #189.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elmia Gilmore Gividen; two daughters: Mrs. Reginald R. Herron, Los Angeles, California and Mrs. Marion F. Wilson, Louisville; two sons: Roy W. Gividen, Louisville and Sgt. John A. Gividen, Fort Monroe, Virginia; fifteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one sister, Mrs. J. E. Ashley, New Castle.
The body is at Shannon-Prewitt Funeral Home in New Castle. Definite arrangements for the funeral had not been made at the time the Local went to press.

Mrs. S. H. Gividen, 97 of Route1, Smithfield, died Sunday, November 13th at the Friendship Manor, Pewee Valley. She was the former Dora I. Massie, a native of Oldham County, the daughter of the late Edward and Catty Pryor Massie and a member of the Smithfield Christian Church.
She is survived by one son: Earl P. Gividen, Smithfield; one brother: Joseph B. Massie, Louisville; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 15th at the Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange. Rev. Darrell A. Parr, pastor of the Smithfield Christian Church, officiated. Interment was in the Smithfield Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. H. W. Glascock; one sister: Mrs. Carrie Pulliam, Louisville; three step-sons: Robert Glascock, Louisville, Harvey Glascock, of Shelby County and Malcolm Glascock of Smithfield.

Lawrence �Mike� Glass, age 60 of LaGrange, died Friday, June 30, 2006, in LaGrange. He was a flour installer, the son of the late Clarence Glass and a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Joan Boggs Glass, LaGrange; two daughters: Mrs. George (Debbie Lee) Wysocki, Versailles and Lisa Gwyn Lacy, Louisville; his mother: Norma Gibson Glass, Louisville; one brother: Clarence Glass, Jr., Louisville; and three sisters: Darlene Hall, Betty Sue Watt and Beverly Smith, all of Louisville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 6 at Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Rev. John Kennedy officiated. Interment was in the Shady Lawn Cemetery, Shelbyville.

William Keith Goble, Sr., 52 of Los Angeles, California, died there recently.
He is survived by four daughters: Paricia Ann Loran, Louisville, Mary Louise Raisor, Eminence, Billy Jean Goble, Louisville and Diane Marie Johnson; five sons: William Keith Goble, Jr., Pleasureville, Steven Goble, Michael Goble and Anthony Goble, all of Louisville, and Mark Goble; thirteen grandchildren, three sisters: Mrs. Dorothy McGillan, Omaha, Nebraska, Ms. Barbara Goble, Council Bluffs, Iowa and Ms. Audrey Goble, Sioux City, Iowa.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 21st at the Thomas Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Dr. Charles Teague, pastor of the Pleasureville Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.
