Price Barnett, Jr., age 83, of Eminence, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at his residence. He was the son of the late Retta (Jones) and Price Barnett, Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Kays Barnett, Eminence; one son, Price Logan Barnett, Mesquite, TX and two step-sons, Phillip Kays, LaGrange and Eric Perkins, Eminence.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Lynn Traylor, pastor of Buckner Baptist Church.

Interment was in Port Royal Cemetery.

Annie (LeMay) Wright Brewer, age 64, of Pleasureville, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville.

She is the daughter of the late Anna (Snavely) and James H. Lemay, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Wright, Pleasureville.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Interment was in New Castle Cemetery.

Timmy Kurtz, age 55, of Smithfield, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014, at his residence. He was the son of the late Charles and Thelma (Early) Kurtz.

He is survived by his wife, Anna (Hicks) Kurtz, Smithfield; two daughters, Tori Kurtz, Smithfield and Corisa Tindle, Lockport; four sons, Christopher Kurtz, Smithfield, Charlie Kurtz, Gary Kurtz and T J Kurtz, all of Carrollton.

Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, November 26, 2014) at 2 p.m. at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m until time of service.

Nathan "Mickey" Redden, Jr.

Nathan "Mickey" Redden, Jr., age 88, of Smithfield, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014, at Robley Rex VA Medical Center. He was the son of the late Luella Redden and Nathan Redden, Sr. He served his country in the U.S .Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

He is survived by one daughter, Martha Jordan, Louisville.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2014, at KY Veteran Cemetery Central in Radcliffe.

Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Terry Wayne Reynolds, Jr., age 39, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, October 31, 2014, at Jewish Hospital, Shelbyville. He was the son of the late Terry Reynolds, Sr.

He is survived by one son, William Trey Reynolds; one daughter, Breanna Jade Reynolds, both of Shelbyville and his mother and stepfather, Brenda and James Fowler, Eminence.

There will be no services at this time. Cremation was chosen at Terry's request.

Catherine Ann Roberts, age 81, of Eminence, passed away Monday, November 3, 2014. She was the daughter of the late James Linsey and Josephine Marion (Gardner) Deakins.

She is survived by two daughters, Jeanie and Brenda Roberts, both of Eminence and three sons, Tony, Mark and Terry Roberts, all of Eminence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 6, 2014, at Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Michael Duncan, pastor of Eminence Baptist Church. Interment will be in Eminence Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home.

Chris "Smalls" Smalley, age 25, of LaGrange, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Smalley.

He is survived by his mother, Streta (Luis) Santos, Bedford.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at a later date in New Castle Cemetery.

Norma Downey

Norma Jean Bryant Downey, 85, widow of Harry Downey Jr., died Saturday, September 27, 2014. She was born in Henry County on October 15, 1928 to the late William Green and Willie Leitch Bryant. Ms. Downey was owner and operator of Town 8c Country Beauty Salon and a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. She was a member of the Woodford County Woman's Club where she received the Rookie of the Year in 1998. She was also voted Woman of the Year in 2001, received the Meritorious Award in 2006 and was presented in 2013 with The Lifetime Achievement Award. Ms. Downey was a longtime volunteer of the Woodford Hospital Auxiliary and the Food Pantry.

Survivors are her daughter, Beverly L. Mullins, of Versailles; her sons, Kenton G. (Sandy) Downey and Tim B. Downey, both of Versailles; her shared daughter, Robin Joseph Richie; her grandchildren, William and Meredith Downey, Beau Martin, Danielle M. (Brandon) Raisor, and Joshua B. Downey; her great grandchildren, Jace, Jaxon and Kolby Downey, Branson Allcock, Annabelle, Nash and Jacob Eli Raisor. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Glenna Duvall, Patsy Dees, and Linda Stivers, and her brother, Larry L. Bryant.

Service will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, October 2, 2014 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Versailles with Fr. Phillip Linder officiating. Burial will follow in Versailles Cemetery. . Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill.

Casketbearers will be Orie Mullen, Joe Routt, Bill Barrows, Brian Nesselrode, Steve Watts, Lindsey Rice and Missy Rogers. She is survived by her husband, Gene Evans, Smithfield; one daughter, Tina Marie Elmore, Florence; three sons, Tommy Gibbs, Eminence, Doug Gibbs, New Castle and Tony Evans, Smithfield.

Regina Lynn Clubb Frazier, 56, Bedford, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville. She was the daughter of the late Phyllis J. and Francis E. Clubb.

She is survived by her children, Amanda Lynn Frazier, Milton, Joseph Wendall Frazier, Christina Louise Frazier and Steven Kyle Fraizer all of New Castle.

Nellie Marie Miskell, infant daughter of Ashley and Dylan Miskell, New Castle, was stillborn Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at Baptist Health Louisville.

She is survived by, including her parents, grandparents, Denise and Lorry Hanson, New Castle, Wayne Buck, Mt. Olivet, and Patricia Paris, Campbellsburg, and her great grandmother, Katie Buck, Mt. Olivet.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Piqua Cemetery. Robertson County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Clifford Nation, 58, of Taylorsville, passed away Monday, September 22, 2014, at his residence. He was the son of the late William Thomas and Mildred Dell Norton Nation.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Nation, Taylorsville and his daughters, Laura Fulkerson, Gloria Nation, Cassandra Peyton, and Rosa Corona, all of Taylorsville.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, September 26, 2014, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville, with Reverend Joe Vires officiating. Interment was in the Elk Creek Cemetery at Elk Creek.

Masuko Prueitt

Mrs. Masuko Kosaka Prueitt, age 90 (formerly of Sligo), passed away September 17, 2014, at the Manor Care Nursing Facility in Citrus Heights, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Major (retired) Raymond V. Prueitt. Masuko, daughter of Chikajiro and Hatsu Kosaka, was born on January 23, 1924, in Japan. She married Major (retired) Raymond V. Prueitt in 1952 and they celebrated almost 36 years together. She was a dedicated mother and home-maker, known for her happy disposition and cheerful laugh.

Loved and deeply missed, she is survived by six children: her daughters, Sue Ann (John) Di Giusto of Folsom, CA and Shelia (Jack) Cleary of South Burlington, VT; her sons, George (Iris) Prueitt of Madison, AL, Jim (Annette) Prueitt of Ballston Lake, NY, and Nathaniel (Kathy) Prueitt of Montgomery, AL; and her stepson, Jerry (Carol) Prueitt of Corvallis, OR. Her grandchildren include eleven girls (Elisabeth, Sara, Caidin, Melissa, Deanna, Gina, Meredith, Sarah, Meghan, Juliette and Helen) five boys (Ray, Daniel, Adam, Ethan and Parker) and four great-grandchildren.

Her memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Prewitt New Castl Funeral Home. Friends may visit from 2 p.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will follow at Sulphur Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Edith M. Shannon, 76, of Eminence, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Byron and Mary Lucinda Bell.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Winslow Shannon, Eminence; two daughters, Joetta Shannon, Eminence and Donna Barcus, Florence and one son, Ricky Shannon, Shelbyville.

Michael Dewayne Stockdale, 56, of Campbellsburg, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Crestview Nursing Home in Shelbyville. He was the son of the late Herbert Ryan Stockdale and Mary Elizabeth Ward.

He is survived by his brother Herbert B. Stockdale, Bedford and his aunt Laverne Evans, Campbellsburg.

Cremation was chosen and burial will be private at a later date.

Imogene Powell Arnsparger

Imogene Powell Arnsparger, age 85, of Pleasureville, died Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at the Masonic Home of Shelbyville. She was born in Lacie and was the daughter of the late Harrison and Hattie Ransdall Powell. She retired from the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a Human Resources Specialist, and was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Shelbyville.

She is survived by one son, Dale Arnsparger (and wife Vonda) of Bagdad; and one granddaughter, Laura Owens (and husband Doug) of Lexington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Coleman Arnsparger.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2014, at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville with Rev. Chris Piatt, pastor of Highland Baptist Church, officiating. Interment was in Pleasureville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Calvin Harlow, Julian Watkins, Doug Owens, Robert Brown, Jay Hackett, Doug Schlosnagle, Ted Driver and Mark Roberts.

Peggy Jones Cain, age 83, of Zephyrhills, Florida, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2014. She was formerly of Henry County. She was the daughter of the late Sidney Earl and Martha (Cureton) Jones, she was a member of the Point Pleasant Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Eminence and was involved in the region, district and local levels of the denomination in Kentucky and Florida.

She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Cain of Zephyrhills and by cousins and other family members in Henry and other counties.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2014, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.

There will be no graveside service in New Castle Cemetery.

Herbert Didier

Herbert Didier, age 76, of Shelbyville, died Sunday, October 12, 2014, at Masonic Home of Shelbyville. Born in Kaiserslautern, Germany, he was the son of the late Karl and Elizabeth Stemler Didier. A dedicated and conscientious craftsman, he was a retired trim carpenter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Renada and Inge, and his brother, Karl.

His survivors include his wife, Barbara Bolin Didier; his daughter, Lisa Victoria Dillingham (Carlton) of Middletown; his sons, Daniel Didier (Lisa) of Shelbyville; and Henry Lewis (Edith) of Louisville; his grandchildren, Joseph, Landon, Gavin, Wesley, Dustin, Nicholas, Tabitha and Michelle; and his great-grandchildren, Abbigail, Calliope, Emma, Annabelle and Charleigh.

Suzanna Arington

Suzanna "Sue" (Payton) Arington, age 81, of Smithfield, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Matthew and Elizabeth (Raisor) Payton, she drove a bus for the Henry County School System for thirty years and was also a cook at Henry County High School for fifteen years. Sue was a member of Henry Christian Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jayola Arington; sisters, Lula Sutherland, Mildred Ellis, Laura Wilson and Mary Ellen Wentworth; brothers: Charlie, James, and Joe Payton, Sr.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Wilbur Arington of Smithfield and her children, Beverly Arington of Smithfield, Sandy (Danny) Doane of Smithfield, Pat (Darcy) Stivers of Campbellsburg, Gary (Emily) Arington of Turners Station and Kim (Jimmy) Jewell of Smithfield; sisters-in-law, Rose Payton and Joyce (Wilburn) Kephart; grandchildren, Chesi (Vincent) Woods of New Castle, Jesi (Ashley) Jones of Simpsonville, Matt Doane of Smithfield, Geremy (Brandi) Arington of Brandenburg, Austin Arington of Waddy and Meredith Arington of Franklinton; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Logan Woods, Rowan and Brooklyn Jones, and Jordan Arington; nine step-grandchildren and 13 step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Nick Coleman of Sulphur. Bro. Ed Berry will be assisting. Interment will be in Sulphur Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.

Honorary pallbearers were, Barbara Parks, Linda Ellis, Jimmy Jewell, Danny Doane, Darcy Stivers and Emily Arington.

Active pallbearers were, Jesi Jones, Geremy Arington, Matt Doane, Chesi Woods, Austin Arington, Ronald Brierly, Wayne Jones and Meredith Arington.

Connie Hughes

Connie Dale Hughes, age 64, of Bedford, died Friday, October 17, 2014, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville. She was born in Shelbyville and was the daughter of the late Dale E. Hinkley and Ruth Croxton Hinkley. She retired from the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a social worker, and was a member of Franklinton Baptist Church in Henry County.

She is survived by, Taylor Butler, whom was in her care; one brother, Darryl Keith Hinkley of Eminence; two sisters, Peggy Darlene Raisor of Eminence and Debra Ann Rissler of Jeffersonville, Indiana and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garry Hughes and her son, Taylor Hughes.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville with Rev. Ed Berry, pastor of Henry Christian Church officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday. Also, a celebration of life gathering will be held in Bedford at a later date.

Melvin Louden

Melvin Louden, age 88, of Sulphur, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014. He was the son of the late Lee Linley and Grace (Erwin) Louden. Melvin served his country as a WWII Army veteran. He retired from General Electric after 30 plus years of service and was a member of Drennon Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Sutherland) Louden, a daughter, Jennie Louden, and five brothers.

He is survived by three daughters, Mary Golden of New Castle, Rita (Ray) Tipton of New Castle and Marcia Foree of Smithfield; one son, Stanley (Dianne) Louden of Sulphur; loving and caring companion, Frankie Stewart of New Castle; 18 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.

Donald Leon Perry age 76, of Pleasureville, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort. He was the son of the late Samuel B. Perry and Frances M. McConnell Perry. He served his country in the United States Navy.

He is survived by his four children, Ruth Tetmeyer, Energy, IL, Linda Lee Miller, Jackson, TN, Donnie L. Perry, LaGrange and John Harlan Perry, Carrollton.

William "Bill" Cox, age 70, of Port Royal, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Baptist Health, Louisville. He was the son of the late James Curtis and Martha J. Cox. Bill retired as a supervisor from Naval Ordnance in Louisville and was the owner of B&B Tax Service. He was a former member of New Castle Lions Club. Bill loved to golf and was an avid U of L Cardinals fan.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Cox of Port Royal; five children, Tina Gaunt (Bucky) of Pikeville, JP Cox of Louisville, Stevie Lyons (Leslie) of Port Royal, Sarah Rison (Sammie) of Campbellsburg and Shelly Tanzilla (Jeremy) of Louisville; one sister, Jinger Coffelt (Chuck) of Louisville; grandchildren: Chayse, Megan, Tyler, Emily, Billy, Philisity, Lauren, Abbi, Ethan, Cami, Zack, Ama and Caroline.

William Garrett

William E. Garrett, age 97, of Sanders, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at the Providence of Richwood in LaGrange.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave, in Carrollton with Rev. Jerry Ison officiating. Burial will be in the Ghent Masonic Cemetery in Ghent.

Mr. Garrett was born on May 7, 1917, in Drennon Springs, Henry County, the son of the late Prentice Garrett and Melissa Woods. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Open Door Baptist Church in Carrollton.

Survivors include fourteen grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bessie Raisor Garrett; four sons, Artie Garrett, Tommy Garrett, Porter Garrett, Sr., and Robert Garrett; three brothers, Thomas, Otis and Gene Garrett; and three sisters, Jane Bowling, Virginia Smith and Frances Raisor.

Charles Mann

Charles Joseph Mann, age 64, of Louisville, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at Hosparus of Louisville. He was born on November 5, 1949, to the late Carl and Lillian Mann and grew up in Louisville. Charlie was preceded in death by his brother, John "Butch" Mann.

Charlie was a graduate of Fern Creek High School. He worked in the banking and loan industry throughout his life, traveling extensively and serving on several boards and associations throughout the years. He finished his career as President of Leasing One Corporation at Farmers Deposit Bank in Frankfort. Charlie also attained the honor of being a Kentucky Colonel.

Charlie was an avid musician throughout his life. He loved to sing, leading a band in the 1970s and 80s and then DJ'ing for many occasions casually and professionally though being known to decline to take payment for his services. His passion was to see people having a good time and often he was the first person there, and the last to leave because he loved to see others enjoy themselves and what he did with his music.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Bryant Mann of Simpsonville; children, CJ Mann, Candace Renfrow (Ron), DeEtte Etherton (Clint), Charles “Chas" Mann Jr., Sarah Raisor, and Dennis G. Raisor. Aunt, JoAnn Uhler. in-Laws, Paul Jones, Jr. (LaVerne), Linda Mann. He is "Grandpa Mann" to nine grandchildren.

Charlie was the life of any group he was a part of and was everyone's "brother" and best friend and will be missed by all that knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday ,October 4, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, October 3, 2014 from 3-8 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery following the funeral service.

Noah H. Stafford, Jr., 82, of Centre, Alabama, formally of New Castle, died on September 3, 2014, at Gadsden Regional Hospital in Gadsden, Alabama.

Noah is survived by his loving wife, Mary W. He was preceded in death by his sister, Fannie Lee Clark.

Noah was born on March 13, 1932, in Henry County, to the late Noah H. and Clyde Tingle Stafford. He was self-employed in the automotive business in Florida before moving to Kentucky. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling and most of all spending time with family.

Noah was a member of New Castle Christian Church in New Castle.
