Tina Sanders
Christine (Tina) Sanders, 75, of New Castle, died Tuesday, December 25, 2001 at Richwood Nursing Home, LaGrange. She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Eloise Purvis Payton and a member of the New Castle Christian Church. She is survived by two daughters: Donna (Paul) Miller, Eminence and Linda Moore, New Castle; one son: Donald Ray Sanders, Eminence; two sisters: Patsy Sevier, New Castle and Eloise (Joe) Beckley, Pendleton; four brothers: Robert Payton, Coleman Payton, Maurice Payton and Billy Ray Payton, all of New Castle; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 28 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Garry Polston, Pastor of the New Castle United Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Geneva Moore Sanford, 85, of Franklinton, died Monday, February 17, 2003 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Elijah Chester and Alpha Omega Deaton Moore, a homemaker and a member of the Franklinton Baptist Church. She is survived by four sons: Jerry Sanford, Crestwood, Glenn Sanford, Frankfort, Michael Sanford, Franklinton and Barry Sanford, Pleasureville; one daughter: Ruthie (Barry) Heightchew, Pleasureville; four brothers: Frank Moore and Wilton Moore, both of Michigan, Charles Moore, Florida and Joseph Moore, Georgia; two sisters: Luna Burton, Pleasureville and Juanita Thurman, Frankfort; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Sanford. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 20, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Jacky Newton, Franklinton Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in the Grove hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.

Mary Ann Smith Sanford, 55, of Smithfield, died Tuesday, October 9, 2012. She lived in the Henry County community her entire life and worked for the Henry County School system as a bus monitor for 21 years. She was the daughter of the late Gladys Bramblett Smith and Fred Smith. She is survived by her husband: Charles Sanford, Smithfield; one granddaughter: Hailey; one brother: William Smith, Eminence; three sisters: Jenny Smith, LaGrange, Darlene Smith, Eminence and Charlotte Waford, Louisville; four step-children: Jessica Fenney, Brandy Helton, Willie Mathis and Jeffrey Sanford. She was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Draque. A memorial service was held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 21 at the Henry Christian Church.

Nannie P. Satterly, 96, of New Castle, formerly of Shelby County, died Thursday, December 4, 2003 at her residence. She was a native of Washington County, the daughter of the late Luther and Ida Belle Kayes Snider, and a member of the Eminence Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters: Louise (Lyndon) Collings, Conyers, GA and Brenda (Marvin L.) Black, New Castle; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Haskill, one daughter and two grandsons. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 7 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Duncan, Pastor of the Eminence Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.

James H. Saylor, 52, of Watertown, SD died Saturday, January 26, 2002 at a local hospital. He was the son of the late Ora M. and Margaret Falvey Saylor, an employee of Print �Em Now as a printing salesman and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Watertown. He is survived by his wife: Cathryn Miedema Saylor, Watertown; one son: Joseph Saylor, Milbank, SD; two daughters: Jacalyn Saylor, Aberdeen, SD and Jerilyn Saylor, Madison, SD; five sisters: Patricia Saylor, Kearney, Nebraska, Geraldine Saylor, Richfield, MN, Rita Saylor, Eagle Butte, SD, Katherine Saylor, Oakdale, MN and Doris �Dot� (Ed) Hammond, Eminence and two nieces. A memorial mass was held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31 at the Immaculate Conception Church. Father Kevin O�Dell officiated. Wright and Fox Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Larry Lee Singleton, 72, of New Castle, died Monday November 4, 2013. He was the son of the late James and Emma James Singleton, a University of Kentucky graduate and a retired teacher at Eastern High School. He was a farmer and the owner/operator of Doddy Trailer Sales in new Castle. He was a member of the New Castle Masonic Lodge and the New Castle United United Methodist Church. Larry was very proud to be a long-time contributor of AA. He is survived by his wife: Kathy Cook Singleton, New Castle; one daughter: Sloan Singleton (Mike) Catron, Columbia; one son: L. Lee Singleton, II, Louisville; one sister: Sue (Edward) Zachari, Lexington and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 8 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. David Combs and Rev. Garry Polston officiated. Burial was in the New Castle Cemetery.

John (Dale) Sizemore, 50, of Bedford, died Sunday, September 8, 2013, at the University of Louisville Hospital. He was born in Louisville and was the son of the late Roscoe, Jr. and Bonnie Smith Sizemore. He is survived by two sisters: Rhonda Sizemore Haines and Wanda Turner, both of Bedford. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 12, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Bro. Fred Snider and Rev. Leon Robinson officiated. Burial was in the Wallace Cemetery.

Joseph Glen Spillman, 89, of Pendleton, died at his home on October 22, 2013. He was the son of the late Joe and Minnie Wright Spillman. He was an honorably discharged U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He is survived by his wife: Doris J. Spillman, Pendleton and step-daughter: Jeannie B. Nenz, Pendleton. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 24 at Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford. Rev. Earl Wayne Perry officiated. Burial was in the Sligo Baptist Church Cemetery.

Gordini L. Jones Spurr, 55, of Lockport, died Saturday, November 16, 2013. She worked as a CAN and Care Provider at Homestead Nursing Center. Gordini was preceded in death by her husband, William �Billy� Alex Spurr, and a son, Bryan Spurr. She is survived by her mother: Gertrud W. Schmidt Jones, Campbellsburg; her father: Kenneth D. Jones, Lockport; three sons: Alexander (Lorisa) Spurr, Bedford, Casey Spurr and Duane (Amy) Spurr, both of Lockport; three sisters: Diata (Gary) Prather, Berea, Patra (Ron) Thacker, Gosport, IN and Wanda Heightower, Washington; three brothers: Robert (Darlene) Jones, Fisherville, Hans Peter Jones, Campbellsburg and Robert Dale Holbrook, OH; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at noon on Saturday, November 23 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Bro. Paul Briscoe, Pastor of the Lockport Baptist Church, officiated.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gloria Boston Taylor; a daughter: Bonnie Slatha; three grandsons and two great-granddaughters. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Ratterman & Sons, Jeffersontown, KY. Burial was in the Resthaven Memorial Cemetery, Louisville.

He is survived by one daughter: Bettye J. Reed, Louisville; four sons: Ralph Reed and Rev. Michael L. Thomas, both of Eminence, Rev. Gene R. Thomas, Frankfort and William H. Thomas, Upper Marlboro, MD. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19, at the First Baptist Church, Eminence. Rev. Charles Duncan, Jr. officiated. Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery. Prewitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her mother: Brittany White, Smithfield and her father Kirk Springer, Smithfield; grandparents: Troy and Jeanette White, Smithfield and great-grandparents: J. D. and Dorothy Wilkerson, Crestwood. A private graveside service was held in the Smithfield Cemetery.
